Personally, I would prefer somebody who knows the admissions, or who was admitted into MIT. But all opinions are helpful

I am currently going to become a junior in a vocational school. And I know MIT doesn't generally admit to vocational schools. I have a 3.3 GPA. I had a low grade in freshman year, that dragged it down. Since then I have had ALL A's. If I continue to receive the same grades for the next two years I will have a 3.8-4.0 GPA (including weights for Honors). I am in all honors classes.

I'm a very preferred student, all my teachers love me as a worker. I am in honors Physics, top of my class. My vocational field is Electronics, and we study robotics and participate in the FTC robotics challenge. The shop has had some very good reputation and progress. Just recently we placed 4th in world robotics. I do not start robotics until this year however. I also founded and run an Engineering Club in my school which we are currently working on a quadcopter, with a camera that can be remote controlled from an iphone, or galaxy.

At home I work two jobs, in culinary and delivering newspapers. I am planning on starting volunteer work, (working at the library, soup kitchens, and any other charity I can find). I also donate 30% of my paycheck every month to a foundation that provides support for people in areas of poverty. Mostly in Africa helping villages.

As a personality I am extremely into science and engineering. I am huge on physics, and I do many projects involving engineering and physics. I am not afraid to rise up to any challenge of any project.

Currently what are my chances of getting into MIT?

Also, how would these things improve my chances?

My goal is to receive a patent before I graduate high school.

We are having luck on the quadcopter so far. We are finishing up machining it, it is all ready designed. It will have an electronic stabilizing system, to allow it to fly and hover straight. Automatic calibration. The camera comes with a gyroscope and a directional microphone. The microphone is being tested and trying to be designed to not have the problems with wind. Not much much luck on that. As said it can be controlled with an iphone, galaxy, or a portable IR remote.

Our goal for FTC robotics is to place in World Championships. We want to at least make it there. We have the support and team to do it, and have hope we will.

I want to setup an 8-channel audio system on my desktop. Before I start I am well advanced in computers, but I'm not as great in acoustics.

My Initial plan is to put together 7 speakers and a sub woofer for my computer. A lot of you might see the problem right now, which I don't know if it is possible to have 7 speakers hooked up into a computer? I know most speakers come in pairs, I don't know if you can buy a single speaker. And also a single subwoofer.

I don't want to buy a speaker set with a Sub-woofer(s). I want the Sub-woofer to be separate because I want to get a MASSIVE one for a computer (probably about a 20", minimum) and I can't even find a 20" sub-woofer for a speaker set. So the question here is, Is this possible? And if so, does anyone know where I can buy sub-woofer's like this that are not connected to other speakers. The reason for this is, if I want to upgrade one thing on here, I don't want to have to replace two speakers AND the expensive subwoofer to be able to upgrade. I wont to upgrade speaker sets on their on. Because I want to start off with cheap speakers, and once I have the money move to something expensive like top-end bose computer speakers. Some people are telling me I might have to make my own subwoofer if I want to do this. I can, but I would rather not due to the fact I want strong and clear bass (Money isn't an issue here) so I don't want me to build it and not be solid sound, because I am NO professional here xD. If I have to I would higher an acoustic engineer to do this, or have one of my engineer friends help me. I want POWERFUL bass, way higher than the audio level. I know how to do this with stereo a lot easier, but I don't want stereo I want a computer because it's easier for me to manipulate the sound on.

Another thing as I said, Seven speakers. Would I be able to buy a single speaker?

If I really can't do this then I will move to stereo, but only as a last resort.

Honestly, life just keeps getting worse and worse for me. I try my best to stay positive, but now I just can't do it at all. It's so hard just walking every day, and I'm slowly losing my speech abilities

My family doesn't love me, period. Them and everyone else told me to just kill myself, and nobody wants you. I honestly don't know what I did wrong. I try my best every day to be nice to people, and make them happy. I always cheer people up when they're down. But I never get it back.

Nobody really likes me... Like, I dont know why but just most people don't like me. They tell me to kill myself and that everyone hates me. I've had one good relationship. And she just dumped me, found out she never actually liked me. Wa just with me because she felt bad... I lost the one person I loved, and I thought loved me

I just look at myself in the mirror, and I see an ugly fat piece of crap. I'm 220 pounds and 5'10''. I'm ugly, and told it every day.

I try my best to be a good person, I obey the law. I defend people when everyones against them, only when they're the good one though.... I donate 20% of my paycheck to the less fortunate. I give all my spare time to helping people's life be better. What am I doing wrong? I don't even have time to be mean, so why is everyone so mean to me? At one point, I had a few friends, but they're all gone now.... I have 1-3 friends, and only one of them cares if I was gone....

I'm not going to kill myself, I don't believe in that. It's against my religious and moral beliefs. But I don't enjoy life either.

But, can someone honestly tell me, whats there to look forward to? Why should I keep this up? I honestly just can't cry anymore, I've cried so much from being hurt. Everything I've loved walked out on me....

My great-grand father served in a war, and when he died at 83 the military played a song on the trumpet and gave a flag to my cousin who was closest to him.

If this isn't a military funeral, when the honor guard shows up even though you didn't die in a war, what's it called?

My Grandfather served in the military airforce, but wasn't deployed in a war. does he still get this?

To start off - I am a Guy

Some girls were talking about how they think it's cute when a guy cries. I always thought a guy crying irritated women, and I also think that when a guy cries it's disgusting.

Do you think it's cute/whatever when a guy cries?

From what I've heard from girls (not that many XD), they don't like or dislike it when a guy cries. But do you think a man is weak when they cry? Because what other guys told me, is that they wouldn't cry in front of their girlfriend so that they don't look weak and pathetic.

They were also saying that they think guys feel irritated when girls cry, with which most guys isn't true. Some of us like to help them out, and some of us don't mind it.

I don't quiet understand how to do this, and I don't even know what it's called. Thanks in advance for anyone that helps.

So basically we were given problems like x/ 1/4 = 1/2. I know how to do this, and I almost know how to do these equations, but I get stuck on very small parts.

What my math teacher told us to do with things like x/5 = 3, is multiply the denominator by the 3, by the denominator. So you get x = 15. Well, that isn't so easy with this problem. If I took the 1/4 in x/ 1/4 = 1/2 then I would get x/ 1/8, and i am stuck on what to do from there..... If anyone can help me with that, then that would be grand.

Another method that my friend told me but didn't clarify was this

Dividing the x and 1/4 by each other first, so I took x/1 / 1/4, to get 4x/1 = 4x. 4x = 1/2, x = 2. Simple enough, problem is what about if the 1/4 in x/ 1/4 = 1/2, to something like 3/4, I would get 4x/3 = 1/2. What would I do then? Would I simplify the fraction by dividing 3 into 4x? Or would I divide 1/2 by 4/3?

It would be grand if you could help with any of these methods, would be much appreciated.

My doctor knows about this, but just shrugged it off. So don't tell me to go see a doctor or anything :P.

Whenever I eat in the morning, about before 2:00 PM. I vomit, my body cannot hold it in. This isn't bulimia or anorexia, because I don't want to vomit, it just happens. It's not anxiety either. I really don't know what it is, but I cannot eat in the morning.

Like I said, my doctor just shrugged it off since I get all the nutrients I have. Is there a proper name for this?

I'm living right next to springfield, towards connecticut. I don't know what really to prepare for, I do have supplies and things. I don't know if I should bar my windows though, should I? Should we cover up our windows with wood? We have windows in every single room in our building, and most rooms are covered in windows. So would it be smart to cover up our windows so that they don't break?

Also, I want to be on my computer during the hurricane so that I can feed news, and still do something :P. Is this all right? I don't care about too much danger, as long as it's below 75% chance of high injury.

I really don't know what to choose from, but I do prefer it to be short, but I do not mind medium.

I know you can't copyright a title, but only a work. But I have seen have games get their "name" per say copyrighted. Like Call of Duty is copyrighted, you can create a game with almost the exact same content but call it Shout of Duty and you are fine. I want to copyright the title for my game, so how would I do this?

I don't know too much about legal stuff, but I do know you cannot copyright a title. So what kind of copyright would I get? Do I have to copyright the game itself? Because the game is forever changing and newer zombie arenas are being made.

The script used to work, but when I tried to change "r" to "w" it bugged and didn't work anymore, even when I changed it back. I even tried to recopy the php script into it, and the browser (both IE and FireFox) comes up with this error.

I have a few ideas for poems that I think I want to enter to become published. I am 14 years old and I know at my school I have seen poetry contests and they are grade wise. I don't care if the places are any age. I just want where if they like your poem enough they will publish it mainly. But I will take any poetry websites as long as I don't have to pay to put my poem in. Thankyou for anybody that ansers in advance.

I have been planning for my future job for a while, and I know exactly what I want to do. The only problem is I don't know what the job is that I want to do.

I want to work for the country (Either USA or Japan whichever country I live in in the future) in research and development for future weapons. Is that the exact job title? Research and Development Military Weapons?

I know I need some kind of college education for this, but I don't know what major(s) I need. I don't mind going to college for 8 years, even 12 years. It would also benefit to know some good ivy league if possible colleges that will allow me to take these majors.

I know I want this job but I also want to know the disbenefits of it. I know that if I work with government projects of military weapons I will not be able to release information and I will probably be monitored by the country. But will I be able to live a normal life outside of whatever institution that I work for the government at? I want to be able to have a family and a life with them outside of my job, I don't want my job to manifest my whole life.

I believe she isn't interested, but I just want somebody else's opponion first.

I asked a girl if she'd like to go out sometime, then had a small pause (I think she was trying to find an excuse out of it), and said that she had to go to her sister's birthday party that day and said maybe some other time.

I am pretty sure she was just telling me she wasn't interested, especially since she had a small pause.

I had to update my computer from xp to windows 7, before I had sound, even after windows 7 was installed. But I didn't use this computer for a while, and now I am because of it's gaming capabilities, and the sound wont work. I can't RPG game without sound :(. So far I have lost 2 days from my 3 day weekend, I need help quick.

I have tried two different stereo systems (Non subwoofer). I have installed the drivers (Bioster: 94m900 - m7 FE is my motherboard) but it still gives me that message. I am guessing it wont detect both of the audio devices. I have on-board sound, and Device Manager doesn't detect anything. My computer will not detect anything for sound, I don't get why. No sound drivers, no sound anything.

Please help, I really want to play this game before the weekend is over :)
