  • GCF Meta tag in local file?

I am doing a project for school, and I have some HTML5 elements on a HTML4 browser.. (And no they have to use HTML4 browsers -_-)

We have GCF (Google Chrome Frame) installed so I was hoping to be able to use this for my project. I have added the <meta> tag in the first 2kb (In the head tag). However- they will be opening the website locally- as in clicking on the actual file as opposed to uploading it to a website. Does the GCF tag actually work on local files? (Without using registry tweaks if possible)

If this is not possible, uploading to a temporary webserver MIGHT be an option.

  • Netflix recent additions list? (UK Netflix NOT US)?

Hey, I love netflix but, I always welcome content expansions- who doesn't?

    So my question is this:

Is this a list of movies that have been added recently? For example the UK netflix account could automatically post movies that have been added to the database (I could probably make that myself)

Is there anything of it's type in existence?

I am aware of the Recently Added section, but it would be nice to see a list of additions- finally, how does it work? Does netflix have to secure a contract with the studio/distributor to get a movie/group of movies?

    Thanks :)

  • Recurring BSODs - Software Or Hardware Problem?

Firstly my specs, then the problem:

AMD Phenom ii x3 720 BE

    Asus M4A78LT-M LE

    Kingston HyperX Blu 1600Mhz 8gb

    ATI HD 6850 XFX BE

    1 TB Western Digital HD

    (Homebuilt)

    Right, problem:

BSODs, random freezes, occasional CMOS settings resets AFTER changing RAM.

Under RAM diagnosticss, I get errors- before AND after changing the RAM. RAM used to be G. Skill RIPJAWS.

Using sfc /scannow produces some corrupted files, clean Win 7 install is an option, but I want to know if I should replace my Motherboard or CPU first.

IMO it must be the RAM slots because the RAM is literally about 5 days old, and produces errors in memory diag. tools. Chkdsk found errors but corrected them. Safe Mode is usually stable, andweirdlyy the first day I used the RAM it performed flawlessly.

Pretty much all the BSODs are ntroskrl.exe errors (NT Kernel) - System exceptions, IRQL_LESS_OR_EQUAL, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA, etc

Yes, i have swapped RAM modules, taken them out, removed Graphics card, taken out CPU and put back again, replugged connections, and I (at least) have come to the conclusion that it is most likely a RAM slot error/Motherboard or CPU failures. another note: overclockingmodifyingg CPU values in any way produces BSODs much more frequently. Booting a live-cd version of WinXP is completely stable.

So.. RAM-slot, OS corruption, or CPU?

I will post any needed logs/dumps in the additional info section - I am a power/advanced user so no need for tech small talk.

    thanks...

  • Tweak/Addon to lock reset? (iPod Touch - Jailbroken 3rd Gen)?

My 3rd gen iPod Touch is brilliant - loads of apps, and its tweakable and themeable because its jailbroken.

However because its a 3rd Gen, its tethered, meaning if it runs out of battery or is rebooted you have to rejailbreak - its annoying but harmless. VERY Annoying.

(Please don't complain about "you shouldn't have jailbroken it in the first place" the pros outnumber the cons)

What I'm asking for is some kind of tweak or add-on that allows me to set a password for rebooting so my "friends" can't reboot it - they know I'll need to rejailbreak if they manage to do so.

This tweak/app preferably via Cydia/Rock but i'll do manual tweaks as well.

    Thanks Cl0ttERS

  • Only A Few Programs Work On My Dad's Vista!?

I was trying to make VMware workstation portable, using registry monitoring, etc, and file monitors.

Because I was trying to make the program portable, i had to keep installing/uninstalling the program with revo uninstaller to remove all registry keys/files required to let the program run.

I also used regseeker, the next time I turned it on however, I got lots of messages saying that programs were unrunable, etc, and for uTorrent it said that it had tried to run and failed and had created a dmp file to send to the developers, i did so and moved on. For firefox, I got the mozilla crash reporter, firefox ran for a few seconds, google chrome, failed, without even showing up, all portable, and I even tried using IE portable, I would have tried the resident IE program that had been installed, but it would not even open.

Lots of programs don't work, and lots do, a mix of portable and non-portable work and don't work

Ps. I've scanned with AVG, SUPERAntiSpyware, Spybot S&D, Ad Aware SE...

Please help, i'm screwed if my dad finds out any of this, so hurry!!
