1 AnswerGoogle6 years agoHelp!!! My laptop was infected with BrowserModifier:Win32/KipodToolsCby.?
Luckily Malwarebytes and HitmanPro was able to remove and/or quarantine them (I think coz I've done multiple full scans and it's always the results).
I opened a message from Windows saying on how to deal with the laptop problem. I will later try the first method mentioned requiring disk check and stuff.
I tried the advanced method. It says:
In the Search box, type EVENTVWR, and then press ENTER. In Event Viewer, double-click Windows Logs, and then click Application. Click the Source column heading to list all the Application Error sources at the top of the list. Search for an event with a source of Application Error and an event ID of 1005. Double-click this event. The file that cannot be opened will be listed in the section at the top. Write down the file name, and then close Event Properties. Click the Start button, and then, in the Search box type the file name. Once your computer finds the file, try to open it by clicking the name of the file in the search results. The problem might have been temporary and might not occur when the program runs again.
Unfortunately it's a C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Definition Updates\{4ADB7832-5039-4CF4-A683-27FD98230F3A}\mpengine.dll and Windows recommended me to use Open Freely. It only showed me text stuff.
I really don't know what to do. It's slowing my laptop and it showed me the blue screen four times. I don't want that to happen again. Help juseyo T-T
3 AnswersSoftware6 years agoHELP!!! How to remove BrowserModifier:Win32/KipodToolsCby?
Microsoft Security Essentials noted me that there is this virus called BrowserModifier:Win32/KipodToolsCby.
I've googled on how to remove it, and most results came up with a hard-to-understand-for-noobs manual guide or scam software like Spyhunter and RegCure Pro.
Microsoft Security Essential can't delete it, nor I can't delete it manually.
I am dying to remove that scary thing from my pc. I don't want to cash out P500 immediately and besides I don't have any backup for now. Halp.
