  • Upgrading RAM for an iMac?

I have a 17 inch iMac G5 (iSight) running with a 2ghz Core 2 Duo in it, and 1gb of RAM. I'd like to put a 2gb stick in it, but I'm not entirely sure what to put in it.

Apple's website claims that the memory should be 533MHz, but my iMac has two 512mb RAM sticks in it that are 677MHz.

A quick Newegg search for RAM has found a 2gb stick that's 667MHz, but I want to be sure that it'll work if I buy it. If anyone could tell me if this'll work, or point me in the right direction, I'd be very grateful.

  • Help with Windows 7 boot screen?

The ? that Yahoo puts after the topic makes it look stupid. Anyway.

The laptop I have came with Vista. I used TuneUp Utilities 2009 (I think it was 2009) to change the boot screen to a picture. I got the upgrade to Windows 7 for $10 shipping about a week before they stopped offering it, and used the disks that were specifically for HP computers to upgrade my laptop to Windows 7. All went smoothly, except for one thing. The Windows 7 boot screen was nowhere to be found. In place of it is a black screen with about 5 white _'s at the top left of the screen (minus the ' and s, of course). It's been like that for about a year. I don't hardly ever turn it off so I haven't noticed it. I know it's really trivial, but I'd like to find a way to get the Windows 7 boot screen on it. I've searched all over the internet, and have come to the conclusion that Microsoft didn't want people to change it on Windows 7, so you can't. Using the upgrade disks to restore the computer might work, but I don't feel like moving about 100gb of files to what would have to be an external hard drive. Plus, I've spent countless hours getting my computer just how I like it, and I don't want to do it again. So. That's a whole lot of nothing...

If possible, I would like to get the Windows 7 boot screen working again, although again doesn't really fit as I've never seen it on this computer.

Thanks for reading all of that, and thanks in advance for your answers.

  • Can you find a picture of what having bad eyesight looks like?

I have bad eyesight myself. I think my prescription is -4.75 or something like that.

Has anyone ran across a set of pictures on the internet that are progressively blurry to demonstrate what having poor eyesight looks like? I've looked and looked and all I can find is stuff on people being colorblind. I could always take blurry pictures with a camera and then take my glasses off to judge how close they are to my vision...but a set of pictures would be awesome.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Is it possible to connect the Verizon MiFi 2200 to a wireless router?

    At home I have:

    Wireless printer

    Laptop

    Xbox 360

I'm planning on getting a phone that connects to the network..so it doesn't have to sit in a room with a phone jack.

The main reason I want to connect it to my router, if I get the MiFi, is that I want to connect my xbox 360 to it, and I don't have a wireless adapter. I currently have a 40ft ethernet cable running down the hallway to my xbox. The whole reason i want to do this is because Mediacom is the only cable company that we can get, and they have crappy service and our rates are going up next month.

So, if there is a way to connect the MiFi to a wireless router, and then connect stuff to the router, any information on how to do it will be very helpful. Also, I play on Xbox Live frequently. Would the MiFi be pretty good for gaming, or would it just be laggy to the point where its impossible to play.

Sorry for all the random information...and thanks for all your help!

  • Do Facebook texts count as Verizon to Verizon if I put them as my carrier?

I have the Verizon texting plan with unlimited Verizon to Verizon, and 500 to any other network. If I put Verizon as my carrier when I set up my phone to receive texts, will the texts for notifications from Facebook count as being from Verizon? If not, I don't want to do it, as it'll most likely run over the 500.

    Thanks!

  • I have an HDMI port on the back of my Xbox. If i get a standard male - male HDMI cable, will I have sound too?

I got my xbox Christmas of 08. It has the (too early in the morning for me to remember names of things) port and a HDMI port on the back. If i get a regular HDMI to HDMI cable, will I have sound and everything? I currently have the six plug (whatever) cable.

  • Can I use my old music with the Zune HD?

I have a PSP. I have all my music on it, and would like to know if i get a zune hd (16gb) if i can simply transfer it from the computer to the zune device without using their software, similiar to putting music on a ipod without itunes. All i want to do is access its memory, and copy and paste my music into its music folder, or whatever its named. I have over 1000 songs and this would be very helpful if i could do it like i do with my psp. Also, does it come with a zune to pc cable, or do i need to buy that for 19.99?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

By the way I have all mp3 files, all of which apparently can be played on it according to Microsoft.

I've looked all over, and I haven't found anything that will fix it. Nothing worked on 5.00 m33-4, which i had and was attempting to run homebrew on earlier. any suggestions? perhaps my settings are wrong and a quick press of the select button will fix everything......
