  • How do I install a water temperature gauge on a 96 Neon?

My instrument cluster went out on my 96 Neon and I need to know if my car is over heating or not. I got the head gasket and water pump replaced but I can't tell if it was successful because I can't tell if my car is overheating.

I have no idea what I will need or where I need to hook this thing up at. Any pictures or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Also, since the gauges in my car don't work would that cause the radiator fan not to turn on? I have not let run it long enough to find out if they turn on but I don't want to run it if the fans won't turn on to cool it down.

  • Replaced head gasket and water pump in 96 Neon but still overheating, why?

We let it idle for about 15 minutes and it kept at the perfect temperature but no heat came out of the vents. After 15 minutes it started to overheat and sucked up all the antifreeze in the reservoir but I am not sure how much was in there to begin with.

Is it possible that after the coolant started flowing and filling out the system that it needed more since there was none poured directly into the radiator and that caused it to be at an inadequate level?

Also there is a small crack right down the thing that the radiator cap screws onto and I noticed water dribbling out of it. Could that maybe be causing it to overheat? Someone said a bad radiator cap could make it overheat so I figure that a crack on the thing that the cap screws onto could cause problems too. What do you think?

Also the engine oil has stayed at the same level but is discolored due to lucas oil treatmeat since we couldn't flush the whole engine. Someone also said oil/coolant mix could still remain in the valves and other places since we didn't flush it out and could also be giving it a slight discoloration. The oil is still slippery and looks perfect if the car is not running and sits for a while.

So what do you think...I am going to leave it alone until I can get that cracked thing replaced but I don't want to if the car is a goner. Some also say the head could have been warped so changing the head gasket could have been useless.

Just looking for some opinions on what could be causing it to overheat still

  • Can a man suckling on a woman's breast cause her to lactate?

When my husband and I made love tonight me caressed and suckled my left breast/nipple quite a lot. I jumped in the shower right after and as i cleaned myself i must have squeezed my left breast because i noticed something white on my nipple! I squeezed deliberately this time and more came out! I squeezed my other one numerous times but no milk came out of that one! do you think the fondling had something to do with this? I have never had a kid and my period came on time last month and all signs seem to be pointing it will be on time again. I am freaking out....should I be?

  • Is there a limit on how small a mortgage can be?

There is this house that is a foreclosure and only $19000. It does need work but The Realtor said I could easily talk them down even more. My payments would be like $80 a month (maybe even less) and I am paying $375 in rent now so i though I could just take the extra money and put it into the house. A friend of mine told me I would have a hard time finding a mortgage that small. I don't want to sound dumb trying to find a mortgage so small they don't even do them.

  • If my dog bit someone because they hit him and are now pursing charges, can I press charges as well?

My dog (a German Shepard) has been known to run up to people barking and/or jumping to say HI. Mac (my dog) is a vocal dog and is always grunting, moaning, whinning, barking, and snorting when he is playing, getting pet, or for what seems to be no reason at all. We call him Sass-A-Mac because he is always "sassing". He has done it to at least 50 people in the 3 years I have owned him and not once has he bit anyone.

After I tell people he doesn't bite they usually welcome the running dog and before long they are rubbing his belly and he is licking their hands and face. No one has ever reacted like this guy did.

It was dark and this black guy and his kid were walking in the alley being loud. I knew Mac would want to say HI when he heard the commotion and if he saw them I knew he would run up to them so i yelled to them "Hold on! Let me get the leash on the dog" When he heard that he started looking around in a panic and when he finally saw my dog he got in attack mode because my dog was running up to say HI by now. At first I was in no hurry to get the leash on because I thought the worse that would happen would be Mac jumping on him and staining his white shirt. But they guy had a bag of crap he got from the gas station and was swinging it around frantically ready to hit Mac in the face with it in a spinning fury. I screamed to him a number of times that the dog doesn't bite! He just wants to say HI! He doesn't bite! Calm down! I knew after the second hit to Macs face it wouldn't be long before Mac tries to defend himself. After hitting my dog a number of times with the bag the black guy threw the bag at him and fell on the ground. By this point Mac did not bite him and I had the dog by the collar and was trying to hook the leash back on. The guy was still on the ground kicking the dog and flailing his arms and actually ripped the leash out of my hand. My dog was sick of being kicked and pulled away from me (which was easy since I was holding him with one hand and trying to get the leash back with the other) bit onto his jeans and the guy sat up and started hitting Mac with his arms and fists. I got Mac off the guys jeans really fast but he was still beating on my dog even though my dog was no longer trying to defend himself. My dog at this point was confused and scared. I think he didn't know why I was restraining him so the guy could just keep beating him. He pulled so hard to get away from both me and the guy and layed on his back on the hill about 10 feet away looking so pathetic and scared. I got up and ran after him and the guy ran away to the gas station to call police.

ok needless to say...is there anyway I can press charges agianst him for hitting the dog multiple times even though I told him the dog doesn't bite? And for the continued beating of my dog even after I had him by the collar and calm? I know my dog would never have bit him if he didn't hit my dog first.

  • Champion Spark Plugs?

I bought a 95 Toyota Tercel and it sputtered when I got it. The guy said it probably needs a tune up since the people who owned it before me did not maintain it. Well I got new Champion plugs and the only wires they had for my car. I got Champion because it wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive so I thought they would be decent. However, my car continues to sputter. I changed the fuel filter because someone told me that it could be deteriorating and clogging my injectors. Still Sputtering though. My check engine light is burned out but I had Auto Zone run a diagnosis on it and it came back clean.

A few people have told me that champion spark plugs are crap and shouldn't be put in foreign cars after i already put the stupid things in. Are they right? I don't want to go throw money at expensive spark plugs if its not needed especially if the sputtering is caused by something else and they have nothing to do with it.

If you have any ideas why it is sputtering please let me know! It does it mostly up hills and during acceleration from a dead stop. When it idles it will have the occasional misfire but sometimes not. Thanks =)

  • 95 Toyota Tercel sputtering?

I just bought a 95 Tercel from a junk yard for $300. It runs good except whenever it goes up a hill it starts missing and sputtering. I can't get it to fast up a hill at all. After a while though it will get its power back and blast up the hill. It will also hesitate a little bit when you hit the gas to take off from a stop, but then drives fine.

I bought brand new spark plugs and wires for it. The old ones were probably the originals and they basically ripped apart inside the holes as i was removing them. It did run better after this. From what the guy at the junk yard tells me the previous owners did not maintain it properly. Oh and it does have a substantial hole in the exhaust. Could that have anything to do with it?

What could be causing the hesitation and total lack of power up hills?
