I rebuilt my first engine, transmission and replaced a clutch all by 15 trs. old..I went to Porter & Chester Inst. and worked as a mechanic over 35 years.I finished with a shop of my own!I just hope I can help as many people as possible.I know all the tricks and scams they run.I am basically retired as I could not keep up working reliably every day after having my back broken by a DUI.Then I had to decide who I could help and which I couldn't due to over booking and pain.I just like the satisfaction of a job well done.I thank all my Patrons who gave me the pleasure of helping them out. And any feed back is greatly appreciated to help help others better! Thank you.Tim W
97 Pontiac Grand Am Idles fast sometimes?
It's a Off and On high idle? When the car is started,it may idle at 1500-1900rpm,or 750!If it is started and idles fast, the only thing to do is turn it off and restart it(can take several times) until you get a normal idle. But,that's not all. While driving,at ANY time it may start idling fast again.Requiring a shut off and restart, which again, may take a few times to slow the idle again. And the cycle goes on and on!No matter how far you have driven,or how many days there's been no problem,it still randomly gets to a fast idle! What is causing this?It shows no error code, even while it's at 1500rpm!I don't want to start buying parts that wont fix it and the no error code is even more stupefied!
