  • What is stored on a weekly back up CD?

I do a weekly back up onto CD. Now I have a huge stack of CD's. I was wondering, do I need to save each & every one of them or does the back up save everything with each new back up. I think there is probably an easier way to do this so I'm open to suggestions since this is actually the first computer that I've felt I needed to do a back up.

  • My son (who wants to be a vetrinarian) wants a bird for his birthday?

I have been researching birds, care, etc. I am considering this because I love them and really enjoy interacting with birds my friends have had over the years. My son is really good with animals and shows an incredible amount a maturity when handling aminals of all types. One of my concerns is that we have a tendency to spend the weekends away from the house in the summer and I am wondering if a cockatial should be left alone that long with someone to feed, sent to a vet that will board them, or travel with us to the lake house (2 hr drive)and if so how. I really don't know what would be the best for the bird and need some advice. Trying to learn all I can before I truly consider undertaking this responsibility. If anyone knows of a good comprehensive website for learning about bird care and needs that may help me with any future questions that come to mind.

Thanks in advance for all your help. I want to make the best decision possible and make sure the timing is right too.

  • My hair stylist made a big mistake or so I think!?

I have been going to this one hair stylist for about 6 yrs. Started with a perm oops! when she fried my ends some strands came out straight. I never got another perm & decided that if I needed to get another perm I would find someone else. She is really good with hair color and I get lots of compliments on my hair color...even from complete strangers. I don't always get a good cut from her because sometimes she concentrates on one side and the neglected side never looks terrible but is a little difficult to style because of the uneven cut. On Wednesday I went to get my roots touched up and just a few highlights on top. I got home to find that she applied the highlight bleach over the top ends of the foils and now I have 3 stripes in my hair. Luckily there is just enough hair that isn't messed up so I can part it on the side and its not super noticable. Would you go back? Would it be impossible to find another stylist to duplicate my fav color? Would you be mad or understanding?

  • Blurry subject and crisp background...what am I doing wrong?

I am using the autofocus on my Casio Exilim EX-Z50. I hold the shutter button halfway for focusing and the press the rest of the way for the actual photo. I have used the "Pet" setting & "Children" setting. Everything appears to be in focus on the screen but once I have the photos developed the people I am shooting are slightly fuzzy and the background is very crisp. The "portrait" setting makes the people crisp and the background fuzzy. I would love to have the people crisp without the blurry background effect of the portrait setting. I have had this problem with other cameras using the autofocus and have to assume that I am doing something wrong or I don't completely understand the settings. Please help or my kids may grow up fuzzy!!!

  • Should I have my dog put to sleep? Old, pees on carpet, barks when front door opens, hides under bed all day.

My pomeranian has become a thorn in my side. She is loosing weight, going deaf, stinks no matter how often I bathe her, avoids family contact, and pees on my carpet every night. I really can't stand the sight of her anymore. If she at least wanted to have something to do with us I wouldn't even have this question. With 2 small children I can't stand the thought of them on the carpet were the dog peed even after I cleaned it and my house is beginning to smell of dog pee. We just put down brand new carpet when we bought this house a year a go and now its nasty. I shampoo the carpet everytime I find a spot but that's not enough. Should I feel guilty for not wanting to keep my dog even though she is getting old and becoming infirm?
