I am wondering my options for application. I have an american and a Cayman Islands passport and wish to apply for my British but don't want to submit my American passport because I want to travel during the Minimum 8 weeks it takes to receive my documents and passports. Will I be penalised for only sending in my Cayman Islands passport?

I am a British overseas citizen of the Cayman Islands and lost my passport in transit, I did however book a round trip. I am now here with my American passport, status papers and birth certificate but still have no clue on how I should go about getting a British passport or citizenship.

Mother and grandmother are British passport holders (born in cayman)

Mother has been in England for 1 year

Plan to study/work for 5 - 10 years

I am over the age of 18

I work as a receptionist/administrative asst. and I may do one project a day (takes about an hour) and answer about 12 phone calls - surf the net - no stress - I love it. I wonder sometimes if I should keep it or try to find something more challenging, what do you think?
