Like a drop of rain, I watched you fall Pure and serene.. then to myself I thought What happened to you? To us all? Then in silence you replied and on sand you wrote " Like an eagle I'm free but forever alone" Then the wind erased what the sand bore Then I watched you carve your thought on stone "Those who joined the wind, in memory live forever more" Then like the morning dew I saw you, fresh and cold You illuminated the world with beauty profound And heard you like the titled wind you called All the heavenly sweet and natural sound But then I asked you to answer a question of mine Why did the stone bore your thought While the wind erased your very line And in fairness you voice the answer I sought "If memory was mine, the wind may carry But like a sullen earth my home it bears On stone I carved my thought for eternity Of what my mind and soul nature dares"
