so I'm reading of this "dying detective" who's laboring with the aftereffects of a bad stroke. His "mantra" is "GILLA LÄGEN" - which seems to mean anything from "cheer up" to "look at the facts" to "enjoy the day" - can anyone come up with a better, possibly a snappy English rendering of this catchphrase?

Bedeutet das jetzt "auf Deutsch UND auf Englisch" oder "auf Deutsch ODER auf Englisch". Der Kontext, ich schwör's, gibt keinen Hinweis darauf - im Gegenteil, später kommt auch noch "Begründen Sie ausführlich, warum Sie sich für ein Praktikum Finanzen / Internationale Beziehungen bewerben wollen". (Anmerkung: die angepeilte Institution macht beides, in getrennten Abteilungen)

In meinen nicht vorhandenen Bart hinein frage ich mich natürlich, ob es wirklich zu viel verlangt ist entweder ein UND oder ein klares ODER zu schreiben, statt mich mit einem faulen Schrägstich im Ungewissen hängen zu lassen?????

"Waas? Knorrs Gemüsebouillon??? Maggis braunes Soßenpulver??? In deinem Küchenschrank?? Das hätt ich ja NIE von dir gedacht!"

Nun ja, seit dem eben nicht mehr.

Nehm ich halt angebratene (und passierte) Zwiebeln, Miso und Sahne. Kann wenigstens niemand meckern, ich hätte Chemiepulver benutzt.

Ist aber der Unterschied so groß? Miso ist schließlich auch 'n Dauerprodukt und was da letztlich drin is, weiß ma ja auch nich genau, oder?

In den Pilzbüchern werden beide (beeindruckend aussehende Spezies) als im jungen Zustand essbar bezeichnet, jedoch mit der Einschränkung, dass individuelle Unverträglichkeiten bekannt geworden seien.....

Wer hat schon mal Semmelporlinge und/oder Schwefelporlinge gesammelt und gegessen? Und?

Falls ja (und gut überstanden), könnt ihr Zubereitungsarten empfehlen?

- do I just prepare the "head" + the "foot" and chuck the rest out?

- do I prepare head+foot and the coiled part (the delicacy in sea snails) and chuck out the middle part (which is still a bit glibbery)?

- do I prepare the entire body?

5. please only pertinent answers to the preparation process, preferably from own experiences (I know loads of cooking sites, but my question #4 remains unsoved).

I didn't ask for ingredients or legal ramifications either and need no advice on those issues).

Meine Johannisbeerkuchen der letzten Jahre waren mit Hefeteig, weil für einen größeren Kreis und sofort vertilgt - kein Problem mit dem "Durchnässen".

Dieses Jahr bin ich mein einziger "Kunde" und nahm deshalb den Standard-Mürbeteig. Trotz einer Lage gemahlener Nüsse war der Boden ein einziger Matsch, schon wie der Kuchen aus dem Ofen kam.

Vorschlag für Gegenmaßnahmen?

PS. die Schneckenfrage habe ich gelöscht, weil die ersten sechs Kommentare alle am Thema vorbei waren und niemand sich um die Frage als solche geschert hatte - die Antwort von @d.J. konnte ich dann nicht mehr lesen, sorry - wenn sie eine Antwort auf meine Zubereitungsfrage war, häng sie vielleicht einfach bei einer nächsten Antwort an. Danke.

Schon öfter musste ich aufm Rasen mein Campinggeschirr aufbauen, während meine Freundin mit Handy und Notrufnummern in der Küche blieb - hab alles mit Genuss überlebt, bisher.

Heute hatte ich "Hexeneier" gefunden, den ungeöffneten Zustand der Stinkmorchel (phallus impudicus). Mehrere Pilzbücher bezeichnen das Ei als essbar.

Leute, ich kanns nicht nachvollziehen.

Der Glibber drumrum geht nicht ab, bleibt glibberig in der besten Butter,

in eine langsam angebratene Scheibe beißen ist ein Gefühl

als hätt man aus Sägemehl gemachtes feuchtes Knäckebrot im Mund,

und von Geschmack kann keine Rede sein.

Common stinkhorn (phallus impudicus) is, of course not edible,

but as several reference books insist, the "witch's egg" in its closed state is.

I've just tried it out. Cut those amazing things up. Fried them in my best butter.

And chucked it all out again.

The jelly around it was yucky. No smell. Taking a bite it feels unbearably dull, like biting on a wafer made out of moist sawdust. No taste to write home about.

What have I done wrong?

I know both terms mean more or less the same thing ('Holland' meaning 'hollow land'), but why didn't one form gain wider currency and supersede the other?

I've come across this idiom a couple of times lately, but unfortunately the context never yielded enough information to clarify its meaning. And my dictionaries don't carry the phrase either, neither under the entry "langue" nor under "bois".

Can someone supply a example (in French) of how to use this idiom?

Novel to me are furthermore those Futur II forms in this totally cryptic category labeled "Futur II Zustandspassiv" which I have not heard, used or seen in a lifetime:

Ich bin bass erstaunt, dass "ich bin gekommen" Zustandspassiv ist. Seit wann ist das die Erkenntnis oder eher Kategorisierung der Sprachwissenschaft???? Habe ich da was verpasst?

(von den hirnrissigen Formen weiter unten in der Schema mal ganz abgesehen: "ich werde gekommen gewesen sein (Indikativ) ich werde gekommen gewesen sein (Konjunktiv 1) ich würde gekommen gewesen sein (Konjunktiv 2)"
