I think they can be. Look at the spurs against the heat, I do not think the spurs were trying to embrass the heat at all, I think they wanted to up so many points that the heat would not come back and win like they did last year, I call this burial ball, bury them that way they don't come back. To me, the spurs respected the heart and will (and this coming for a LeBron/heat hater) that they have showed over and over again, epically game 6, that the spurs wanted as much of a cusion as possible, to make it harder. The same with the thunder in some of the games, the spurs know that teams like the thunder and heat can come back and win ball games, why allow them to come back. I think it smart, epically after the spurs blew a 2 to 0 lead in 2012 WCF against the thunder after the thunder came back from 18 down at halftime in game number 6 to seal it, same with game 6 of the finals last year after the heat came back.

What OU did to A and M was running up the score in 2003, when they knew they would not be coming back, what the spurs did was not.

After the spurs had the hard loss and the heat showed all the heart and won the title, it was rough on the spurs to lose like that, I would much rather been swept than lose that way, but proud of the team. Then this year, winning the nba title was just great, and the spurs beat the two time defending champion Miami heat, a very good team, if you are a true heat fan you have a lot to proud of, I would regret game 5 a little, but overall great team that the spurs just beat a very good team with a lot heart. I hate the heat, but I respect the hell out of them overall for the great basketball they put on. What a win for the spurs, also a lot of repect to the blazers, mavs, thunder a well. What a season, what a great moment for me as a sports fan to see my team win a nba title, a special moment for all spurs fans. GO SPURS GO.

I mean if you are a THUNDER fan then i could understand. However this is for netural people, this basketball by both teams has been awesome so far, If I was a netrual fan, I would want this match up.

Truth be told I have not been into hockey that much ever but I am starting to. To be honest it is WAY better than the nba, you have a bunch of nobbs, LOVE my spurs, but most fans and even players as good as some them are, even the best one Lebron, a lot of them I just don't like. I think is WAY better than basketball because it is a way better sport now. For years in basketball a LA/New york finals would have been MONSTER ratings for the nba. Now with the two biggest markets in the untied states facing off on NBC will that work for hockey, I am just wondering as a guy trying to watch more hockey and less basketball UNLESS it involves my beloved spurs.

I knew David Stern would want the nhl finals between new york and LA, HE IS A BIG CHEATER. You must excuse me I am a bandwagon basketball fan that goes for whoever wins, when our team losses we whine about the referees, and you see WERE NOT VERY SMART. Also I don't want to bother to watch hockey because who wants to watch defense and sportsmanship, that **** sucks, so instead of learning the players names I just replace them with basketball players. Also who wants to watch a sport that does not HAVE LEGOD, because he is the only athlete that matters, so I am going to give him a bad reputation by talking about him and trashing anyone that is not him. Also who wants to watch a sport where more than one player matters. You see a REAL sport would have team win an nba title and then give all the credit to one player even though others helped the team win to, none of those guy get any credit for the hard work they put in. Is that intellegent or smart, NOPE, but you have to remember that I am a complete moron who thinks that whole teams in sports have only one player on them, is it logical, nope, but I am a moron who does not think.

In all seriousness congrats to the hockey fans out here, I am starting to love this sport, what a game, great teams, this is a WAY BETTER sport than basketball, hockey rules, maybe back in 2005 when I enjoyed basketball, and watched nba a lot until 2009 when most teams not named the lakers and Celtics started phoning it seemed like.

I think so, in clevland, you had no one who was that good, really he was one of the few players, if not the only one on the team that was good at all, the rest were just bad, no good role players. I think he got bashed to much for being a "choke artist", he has a better coach now, mike brown lacked a lot despite reaching the finals.

Now I have never been a Lebron fan even in Clevland,but he deserves most of the credit for the sucess in miami, he was the main reason they won, but people act like he is ONLY reason. When people metion the heat, they just say Lebron and act like he wins it by himself, when people like Wade, Bosh, anderson, and even chalmers deserve to get a lot of credit to. Hell Pat Riley, deserves some credit to. A BIG problem I have with some not all Lebron fans also they think he is the only player in basketball history who is worth a damn, when there are many great players.

The pacers are getting BASHED BASHED, and really they should for their pathetic play. However it proves that pacers needed this more than the heat. Sure if the heat fail to win a title, it will be harder for leborn to claim he is as good as Jordan, but it is better than what the pacers are seen as. The pacers are seen as hot garbage, horrible, terrible and the only way the will ever be seen as ANYTHING worth a damn by most fans(not me), they AT LEAST have to reach the nba finals, right now to most people they are garbage, hot steming garbage. Now can anyone, ANYONE tell me that the heat needed it more. Lebron is already seen as better than dirk, he is above dirk to most people. The pacers could lose all their players

The heat were the better team and deserved to go . The pacers were just outmatched, but from the sounds of it the pacers are just a bunch of quitters, should of played better.

Now I am going to admit, I am a heat hater, but I have a huge amount of respect for what they have done, even in 2006 when I cheered them on(. i am not a lebron fan, in fact a hater always will be the reason why I did not like the cavs and now the heat, but the guy is a great player. I may not like the heat, but I will respect them for what they have done just like many heat fans on here have HUGE respect for what the spurs have done and by virtue respect those fans. However I do not get why the heat HAVE to win the title or they will be a failure, yes to compare well to the bulls in the 90s it might be necessary, but I just because they do not win as many titles as the bulls they are not "great". While it would be disappointing to not win the title, it would not hurt them and by all means they should go all out and try to win the nba title again, however if they do not, there is not really a great big need for them to do so. They have won two nba titles in a row, and they needed at least one, if not two, so they are good. The pacers, spurs(because of the meltdown), and thunder need it WAY more than the heat do. Now if the heat melt down and lose the ECF, then yes that will be awful, but won't happen. I also don't get why cav, knick and nets fans are saying that the heat are failures if they don't win the title, like they have much room to talk.

I hope well even if his coming back leads to the spurs losing the seris, I NEVER wish ill on a player the same with Ibaka, he could lead to the end of the spurs run for good as a tim duncan lead team, however I am glad he is doing well, I hate to see people get injured.

As a spurs fans I will be remembering the good times for sure like winning the nba title four times, and even making it this far this year, there is no shame in losing to a good team like the thunder. However losing again like it looks like they might do would be hard to convince people that the spurs are an elite organization. While I do not look at the spurs as a failure it seems like it has been hard to convince a lot of fans they are legit, even when winning titles. Now with the way the last four years has been hard, losing in the first round to the griz was tough because the spurs were the number 1 seed and lost, then 2012 losing after being up 2 to 0 was hard. Then losing in seven games like they did the heat was tough, and if they lose again after being up 2 to nothing again which looks like it is very possible and probable, it will be tough for people to buy into the spurs. I will always be a spurs fan though. I think people hate the spurs because they do not play flashy, okc, and miami are flashy, the spurs have never been. I think that gives people a bias against them, hell a lot of people including this one guy who likes flashy play just says "oh screw the spurs they do not deserve respect", no other reason. Basketball fans hate people who don't show off it seems. I know it kind of sucks, but that is the way it seems most baskeball fans are.

You are making spur fans look like a bunch of crybabies you really are. You are all making spur fans like me and my fellow spur fans look bad. YES there was ONE bad call against mills, however there were bad calls that went in favor of the spurs, more than the thunder. I love the spurs but THEY lost to the better team tonight. Basically if the spurs win the series they will be the better team, if the thunder are they will that is the way it is. If the nba was rigged, the mavs would have been here, hell the wizards would have beat the pacers. I know people think it is rigged, and it is hard not to think so, but it is not, why are the two teams in the west small market teams. Hell what is so bad about being in a small market, LOOK at kevin durant he get endorsment deals all over the place.

I mean all of a sudden people no longer respect the spurs anymore after they lost tonight. People are saying the spurs are horrible because they lost to the heat last year and that the knicks are better because they are in New york and that now the spurs have no class. People are claiming that the spurs are crybabies now, even though they LOVED them the other day. Hell people on ESPN .com in the comments are even claiming that pop whined after losing to Miami and he never did people are slandering him big time. He was HEARTBROKEN who would not be after a HUGE loss.

I think the spurs NEED to win the title, or we are, classless, and worthless to a lot of people. I think the spurs Deserve more respect than that for making it to the WCF but people are that way. The spurs most MUST beat the thunder or the legacy of the spurs will be looked as choke job artist, DESPITE the four nba titles they have won with pop and duncan. It sucks but it is true. The thunder will be looked at as a top team even if they never win a title so they don't need it, same with knicks(they still have to make the playoffs) and the nets. Hell the heat never even needed to win the nba title. The spurs have to win this, or they are looked at as pure trash. I will always love my spurs and always respect them, but I know how people think now days. I wish the spurs would get more love because going to three straight WCFs is something. If you say the heat are better I get that, but clippers I don't

I hope so, I know that sounds insane but I hate anyone getting hurt even players from the opposing team. Yes he would make it much harder for the spurs for sure, however I do not care. I know how it is to lose players to injury I am a raiders fan and tony parker is banged up a lot, hopefully he stays heatly. After last years choke job it is to me as a spurs fan, there has not been a year since 2003 when they won the championship. Last year was not must win the title, this year is. IF the miami heat don't win then that is okay for them, they don't need to win the nba title, but of course they should and will put forth the best effort to win as should other teams. The spurs want to be seen on the same level as the heat, and they are not, so to do that the spurs have to win the title. Most years are not must win, but this year the spurs need to get the bad taste out their mouths.

OH THEY NEED TO DO GOOD BUSINESS .**** off really. If want to make money off something rigged go purhcase tna or something. I don't belive nba is rigged, but they could be now with so many idiots on this wanting it to be that way. With the new comminser he might think cheating is a good thing for business. However when does business go to far, you trying to run a legit sport. Of course your going to run a business but this a legit sport that is why peoplel watch it. Would people still watch it if it is rigged, of course not just wrestling fans. I hate that saying "life is not fair", however that does not mean the nba should not be. You pretty much piss on all the legends if the nba starts rigging games. As a spur fan why should my team not get a fair honest to god shake by the nba, that is all I ask, and if we don't have that anymore, we pretty much get pissed on and bashed for not winning the nba title that sucks a lot of *** if you ask me.

I am just wondering why they would. I am not sure if the right call was made THIS IS CONFUSING, people saying they did, people saying some off the wall rule, WTF. However for those who think was rigged, why would the nba rigg a game JUST FOR KD. Sure you can get the matchup of the superstars, but why would you want to screw over the la market that is watching and then possibly put your ENTIRE league at risk if you get caught because if they are rigging the playoffs it would give them a black eye that will put them at the level hockey was at. I mean if the clippers make the finals who cares, you still get some stars in the finals. I have been a bit worried that with a new comminsner he might start rigging the games in favor of big time teams. However I doubt it. It does worry me a bit as a spurs fan because we have to win the nba title this year, there is no if and or buts about it and to I would hate to see my spurs screwed over if they get to the WCF(yes it is not over yet)and get bashed because they get cheated. Then again why would the nba rig it, I doubt it to much at risk, it would be disastrous for the sport.

If the super bowl was like the rest of the postseason, with them being 13 and 3 I would like to know who was the better regular season team with tie breakers and all that good stuff, that way I know which team had the better season up to this point.

I wish my ranger would have done this and finsih two years ago, but congrats to boston, I do not like the red sox or cardinals(better than the Yankees), , but I congrat both teams and more the red sox for winning it all, nice job, you guys deserved it and great turn around.
