irritated nipple piercings? what will help?
i have had my nipples pierced for about a year, and this is the first time i've ever really had any issues.
im chalking it up to working out, i went from a couple days a week to 6-7 days a week, i think maybe the sweat and weight loss as well as a bra that wasnt providing the right support after said weight loss, is the reason.
i find the most comfort when i am wearing a bra, as opposed to when im not.
i have been doing salt water rinses, as well as applying antibacterial balm to my piercings to make sure they dont become infected. currently they are very red and and sore, but definitely not infected.
i find they are more sore in the morning when i wake up, would a sports bra while i sleep, so they dont snag or whatever, possibly ease the soreness? and if i were to do that, would it help the irritation or make things worse?
i love my piercings and really do not want to take them out. i am just trying to find the best method to clear up the irritation, without causing more issues.
any advice is appreciated.
2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body7 years agois it possible to start lactating, 17 months after child is born?
my son never took to the breast, he just wouldn't latch on correctly, so i pumped for him instead.
i stopped pumping at 6 months. he is currently 17 months old, and i have noticed that stimulation, causes me to suddenly start lactating again. is this normal? after such a long period of time?
2 AnswersWomen's Health8 years agohomemade teeth whitener that can be used with accelerator light?
I was given a teeth whitening accelerator light, but do not have any of the pastes or rinses that are typically used with them....
Is it possible to make your own pastes or rinses at home to use with one of those lights?
1 AnswerOther - Beauty & Style8 years agoteeth whitening question, may sound a little odd.?
I was given a whitening accelerator light, but do not actually have any any of the tooth pastes or rinses typically used with it.
Is there a diy/homemade version that can be used with a whitening accelerator?
1 AnswerDental8 years agoexcessive menstral bleeding and pain with pcos, should i go to ER?
I have pcos and an almost complete absence of periods. I have one a year.
My last period was a couple months after I had my son last February, and at the time I also had my tubes tied.
Typically when I have a period it is light, and only lasts a few days.
This time around, I have shooting pain on and off in my ovaries, cramps that become debilitating on and off to the point you would think I were in labor, and when I woke up yo get my son a bottle earlier I walked all of thirty feet before I had soaked through my pad, underwear and pants. I even had to use a towel to get some blood off of the floor and my legs.
in the last hour I have gone through 4 pads. The pain has stopped for now...
Should I go to the ER to get checked out, or just chalk it up to a heavy period?
2 AnswersWomen's Health8 years agowhat could be causing my 11 month old pain when he poops?
My son will be 1 in 2 weeks, and we have started to transition him from formula to whole milk.
I know its normal for the consistency of his poop to change when he is introduced to new foods,
For instance he now has the consistency of playdough.
but everytime he is having a bowel movement he starts crying like he is in pain or uncomfortable. Is it because its more solid? Should I try prune juice?
I never had this issue with my older child. His doctor is out of the office for the weekend, so I guess I'm wondering what I should do in the mean time to make him more comfortable ...
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby8 years agorolled foot 2 days ago, nausiating pain. should i go to the ER?
I currently do not have a car, so I have to walk my daughter back and forth to preschool, which is a total of 5 miles a day. Two days ago I rolled my foot, and have been in pain ever since.so much so it causes excruciating pain to bear all my weight down on that foot. But being that I didn't want my daughter to miss any more school (she had the flu recently), I sucked it up and made the 5 mile walk anyway... causing me to become severely nauseous and kind of dizzy to be honest.
My foot is slightly swollen on the side, but there is no bruising. Could I have just severely sprained it? Should I go to the er, or just keep off of it?
2 AnswersInjuries8 years agotreatment for food.addiction?
I have had issues with weight my whole life.
when I was 14, I successfully dropped 50lbs, an managed to keep it off until I had children at 20, I am about to turn 25, and my weight is spiraling out of control.
I am 5'4" and 225lbs. I also have pcos, which makes losing weight difficult.
I am a compulsive over eater. And cant seem to control it.
my bf of 5 years, has a fast metabolism, as do my children, so fats sugars etc are always around (though with my children I limit sugary or fatty treats, unlike my parents when I was a child.)
I do t know where to turn for help.
my bf says just don't eat. That's easier said than done.
Growing up food was my comfort. I didn't have a lot of friends until I reached my teen years and dropped the weight. Infact I was bullied and beaten for my weight. I slipped into heavy post-partum Depression after my first child, and my old eating habits resurfaced, and I haven't been able to shake them since.
I need help but I don't know where to turn.
There is no OA around where I live, and frankly I think I'm too ashamed to go to a meeting anyway.
Any advice?
4 AnswersDiet & Fitness9 years agocaffeine during final trimester?
as a rule of thumb in pregnancy, i typically don't allow myself more than 1 cup of coffee a day (between 8-12 oz, depending on the mug size)
I am in my last 3.5-4 weeks of pregnancy, and i am SUPER BEAT....
I have a three year old daughter running around, so naps really aren't an option for me at this point...
I already had one cup of coffee this morning, but im having a hard time getting the housework done today, because im so exhausted....
if i had a 12oz cup of coffee(Starbucks) this morning
would it be safe for me to have one more to keep myself going? or should i just remain sluggish and having to keep taking breaks every 15 min or so? lol
2 AnswersPregnancy9 years agowhat to do with a preschooler who throws kicking tantrums, while im pregnant?
I am coming up on 36 weeks pregnant, and up until recently i have NEVER had an issue with my daughter and tantrums... she is 3 1/2, and when she sees older kids throwing tantrums, either on the playground, at preschool, or even her friends, she will come home and do the exact same thing...
its gotten to the point where i get so angry and frustrated i can feel my blood pressure rise, and being hormonal, i yell... I apologize for the yelling, and try to get her to understand what she is doing with her behavior that is wrong, but she just doesn't seem to understand....
earlier she was throwing a tantrum where she actually kicked me in the belly, this is the second time that this is happend, and it leaves me worried...
she only behaves like this, after seeing other kids do it!...thats what i can't seem to wrap my head around, and being the age that she is, its almost nearly impossible, to not take her somewhere, where another child wont be whiney, or cranky, or throwing tantrums...thats how kids this age are....(i mean, preschool, the playground, etc, its hard to not take her to these places...)
time outs don't work with her, never really have...
the best thing that works for her, is for her to lose a toy for bad behavior, and she has to earn it back with good behavior...
but what worries me the most is the kicking, being that i am so far along, has anyone else experienced a child throwing a kicking tantrum, while pregnant? how did you handle it?
(I would like to make it clear, that this is a new phase my child has entered, usually she is very well mannered, and its only been when she sees other children behaving in such a way)
5 AnswersToddler & Preschooler9 years agoanyone deliver a child between 8-12 lbs?
I have been carrying quite large in my current pregnancy with my son.
And actually, instead of gaining, I have lost weight (even with eating how the doctor wants me to, upping my calories etc) and have only gained about 15 lbs total with my pregnancy. I am about to enter my 36th week, and as of one week ago, he was measured at weighing over 8 lbs (my doctor ordered an ultrasound, because they were concerned with my size, considering I had lost so much weight) It would appear he has taken everything from me, and everything I have lost has gone straight to him
I was told that if I carry to my due date of Feb 16th, realistically, with his growth, i could be looking at a 10-12 pound child at birth.
I tore with my daughter, and she was only 7lb 2 oz. So i guess the idea of delivering a boy that big, terrifies me lol.
has anyone had an experience with a birth weight that large? how did it go for you?
I do not see my doctor again until wed, and should find out then if they want to try and take him early, or schedule a c-section, or how they want to go about this... I would really like to try and avoid a c-section if possible
23 AnswersNewborn & Baby9 years agoIs it safe to use Flea Bombs while pregnant?
I am ultra confused as this is a first for our indoor cats, but they are COVERED with fleas!!!
I am coming up on 21 weeks pregnant, and my Bf wants to use a Flea Bomb on our apartment, because we have noticed a few flea bites on our 3 year old...
we were thinking it may be a good idea for me to stay somewhere else for the night after he does the bombing, just so he can clean anything that comes in contact with our mouths, and all the bedding, clothes etc.
but being that i know there is a lingering pesticide in the air after using one of these household flea bombs, would it still be safe to do while I am pregnant, or should we wait for the cold weather to come and for them to die off....
any advice would be appreciated, Thanks.
1 AnswerPregnancy10 years agoHow do I upload a video file from a DVD-RW to my computer?

I am having a complete brain freeze here on how to upload it from the dvd-rw to my computer, so I can send it to friends and family...
I did it with my last child, using windows media player, but I'll be honest, i havent used windows media in a couple years lol, so I am completely spacing on what I should do.

5 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoweight loss help, for someone low income?
im a 23 year old mother of one, who currently is in the low income bracket.
I've gone back to school, for accounting/clerical programs, to try and better my financial situation in the long run.
But with the way food prices are these days, it seems like the cheaper options for food choices while grocery shopping, are those that are high in calories/fat. and when your trying to stretch your food budget as far as you can over a month, sometimes you have to resort to those options.
or at least that is the exscuse i've been allowing myself to believe over the last few years....
I guess its easy to blame to economy for stress and weight gain....
but in truth, i have no one to blame but myself.
i am 5'4" and 215lbs.
i've done everything i can think of to lose the weight. I workout, i measure exact portion sizes with a food scale, stopped drinking soda and drink tons of water...
my weight is a serious issue for me, i have severe Sleep Apnea (where i stop breathing upwards of 80x per hour), I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and i worry about the possibility of diabetes which runs in my family...
I've heard of personal trainers, or fitness/health programs that sometimes offer services at a discounted rate to those who are low income.
can anyone offer me any advice or help on where to look into these avenues, or just any general information on how to boost my weightloss?
I'm desperate...
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agosupplements to keep PCOS in check?
I was diagnosed with Polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS) about two years ago....
I was one of the lucky ones, in that I was able to have a child, before getting this diagnosis, though i have suffered with it my entire life( irregular/amenorrhea, excess weight, excess hair, sleep apnea)....
I am trying to avoid Metformin and fertility drugs if possible, to try and get my body back into regulation.... i tried doing the pill, but it just caused me to gain more weight.... (i have been working out for about 90 mins a day for the last 2 months, and still cant seem to drop any weight).....
I know there are a lot of women out there, who have successfully balanced out their hormone levels, by taking a series of over the counter supplements, such as Vitex (Chasteberry extract)....
I have started taking Vitex, but think there is more i could be doing in addition to my exercise routine...
does anyone have any advice, or could you share your personal experiences with PCOS and supplements? it would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you.
1 AnswerTrying to Conceive1 decade agochasteberry with pcos? successful ovulation?
i have read that, women who have PCOS and no menstrual cycle as a result, have had success in ovulating using Chaste-berry extract (vitex)....
is this true? and if so, have you had any success?
I want to try and regulate myself out, without the use of fertility drugs (as twins already run in my family, so i don't want to run the risk of a multiple birth)

can you please give me some suggestions of movies I should check out, that would hold my interest while exercising?
THANKS!!

Movies1 decade agoPCOS with pregnancy symptoms, but negative test?
I have PCOS, and my last period was in late July (ammenoreah(spelling?) is common with pcos)
lately i have been experiancing symptoms, which me and my partner thought were possibly pregnancy symptoms...
nausia/vomiting, fatigue, emotional/crying with no reason, etc.
all symptoms i experianced with my daughter.
over the last month i have taken 2 tests, both of which were negative...
could it just be my PCOS that is causing me to feel this way, or could it be something more serious?
2 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoWays to boost fertility with pcos?
I was diagnosed with pcos a little more than a year ago. My daughter is two and a half, and my partner and I are ready to try and conceive again. The first time was no problem, but also wasn't exactly planned.
Being that twins run on both sides of the family, I want to avoid fertility treatments if possible. My dr said about 6 months ago, that being that I am only 22, he sees me being able to conceive naturally without treatments as a possibility if I try to conceive within the next couple years.
My question is, does anyone know of any natural fertility boosters? Whether it be foods, vitamins, positions etc.... I really want to be a mommy for the second time.
Thank you for your help.
