What news from this week is more shocking? Pujols or Braun?
Ryan Braun tested positive for performance enhancing drugs, and I think it's safe to say that no one saw that coming.
Albert Pujols left the Cardinals to go to the LA Angels for more money.
Two of the biggest names in the sport this year and one turns out to sign with the highest bidder and one is most likely a cheater. Which is more shocking?
5 AnswersBaseball9 years agoI had knee surgery a few weeks ago and now my knee hurts when it rains?
Why? I think someone mentioned something to me about "knowing when it's raining" but I thought they were kidding. My knee was killing me today and it was raining. What does the rain have to do with my knee?
1 AnswerInjuries10 years agoI had a meniscal repair done 7 weeks ago, approx. how much longer until I can run?

1 AnswerInjuries10 years agoMy knee pops when I bend it?
I had a meniscus tear in my right knee and I got surgery on it, I'm currently in crutches. Today I noticed my left pops when I bend it. My right knee used to pop, snap and crack when the meniscus was torn. Please tell me the pops probaly mean something else!

18 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoBaseball scoring question...is there any way I was wrong?
I'm the scorekeeper for my twin brother's baseball team. They have a 5 run limit per inning. One of the guys on the other team just hit a homerun, and let me tell you, he got ALL of. So the bases are empty, 2 outs, and that was #8 hitter of the inning.
So I tell the umpire, "Hey Blue! That's 6 runs." He gives me a weird look, because I'm a little 14 yead old girl, who probaly might appear to be a little younger, then he askes "That's 6?" Then I say "Yeah." Then he asks both the coaches what they have, and they both said 4. I'm thinking how in the world did I miss 2 runs, then I'm going over things in my head, and it didn't make any sense. The coaches must not have counted the 2 runs the home-run scored and that's the only thing I can think of.
Then that ump said, "Yeah, Imma listen to the coaches not the little girl sitting behind me." I didn't hear him say that, but my brother did. That just made me so mad. He should have been keeping up with that in the first place, and in the second place I'm the scorekeeper with the book.
So, was there any way there could have only been 4 runs scored?
~~After the #8 hitter of the inning(who hit the homerun) there were 2 outs, and nobody on base. Eight minus 2 is 6; bases are empty; so all 6 baserunners had to have scored. If there any way I'm not right?
Thanks guys.
12 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoDo you like/dislike your teams commentators?
Radio, and TV, why or why not?
I like Joe Simpson a lot, he's cool, and knows his stuff. John Smoltz, even though he's only done a good 20-30 games this season, he's hilarious, and I wish he did more. He tells jokes, and let me tell you, they are so cheesey, but I love him anyway. Chip Carey is the most ANNOYING person in the whole world. Don Sutton (radio) is hard to follow, but he's cool. Jim Powell (radio) is really good. Tom Glavine has done a few games, and I love him to death, but he's pretty bad.
25 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoSome general questions about baseball, that I've been wondering....?
Okay guys, so I'm really bored, so I'm just going to ask some questions, that I've been wondering, what everyone else thinks of. I have my own ideas, and I've been wondering what the general opinion is that you guys have.
1. Any theories as to why this is "The Year of the Pitcher"? I have a few, wondering what everyone else thinks.
2. In your opinion, should Pete Rose be in the Hall Of Fame. I don't think he should, but I can see a good argument from both sides.
3. Do you think Chipper is done?
4. Current division leaders, how do you predict things are going to change between now and October. Any teams going to have a "miracle" Septemeber?
5. Instant replay, thoughts, concerns, when it should and shouldn't be used, will it be extended in soon?
6. Your team, better, or worse than you thought they were going to be? Any suprises, so far, in players, trades, or any other GM moves? If the season ended today would you be satisfied with the way things turned out?
7. Your picks for MVPs, Cy Youngs, RoYs.
8. Trade deadline, did anything suprise you a lot?
5 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWhich MLB players have you seen play at the minor league level?
It's neat hearing who you saw, and at what level. I've been to millions of minor league games, I've seen a handful of current MLB players.
I've seen,
Gordon Beckham (AA)
David Wright (AAA)
B.J Upton (AAA)
Kevin Youkilis (AAA)
Tim Wakefield (well, it was a rehab start, but it's still pretty cool)
Jason Heyward (A, AA, & AAA)
Tommy Hanson (A)
Kris Medlen (A)
Mike Gonzalez (AAA)
Omar Infante (A; again, a rehad start)
Brooks Conrad (AAA)
Kyle Davies (AAA)
Probaly more that I can't recall right now, I haven't checked my old Rosters and scorebooks in a while.
BQ: Are there any MLB players that are from your town or high school?
It's always interesting, for me, to hear who has local heros who are current MLB players.
I have a few:
~When I used to live in Virginia, B.J. Upton, Justin Upton, and David Wright went to, what would have been, my rival High School.
~Jason Varitek didn't actually go to my High School, but my High School football coach coached him at football, and got pretty mad at him when he quit football for baseball.
~Chipper Jones hangs out around where I live sometimes, he's a member at the country club, and there have been Chipper Jones sitings at a local resturants.
~Bobby Cox is from my town, and owns a house up here. When he retires hopefully he'll be spending more time around here, and hopefully I'll get lucky and see him at Wal-Mart or something. I know a girl who has actually been inside his house.
~A guy from around here, Connor Justice, got drafted pretty high last year, by either the Cubs or the Orioles (can't remeber which)
~Brian McCann has been spotted at a Waffle House not to far from where I live.
~Bobby Cox brings a few Braves to the local country club on occasion (which is literally, 2 minutes drive from my house)
16 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoJonny Venters and Bobby Cox suspended?! WTH?
http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd...
This makes absoulutley no sense. They hit Fielder...why? Prince gets hit all the time, and you don't see those pitchers suspended for it. He hit a homerun, alot of people hit homeruns, not just Prince, and the Braves don't hit them. If they were going to hit someone because they hit a homerun against them, it would make heck of alot more sense to hit Rickie Weeks who blasted two against Derek Lowe on Sunday. Sure a warning was issued, but it was a slider that almost hit him, and the next pitch got away. JV was shocked at the warning being issued. Jonny throws hard, if he wanted to hit Fielder he would have thrown harder than 94 MPH. On top of that there was no reason for the Braves to want to hit Fielder. They were down 3, nobody out, nobody on, put yourself in the pitchers situation, it really sounds to me like a man on base is the last thing you need. Also, Bobby Cox dosen't believe in hitting batters, Leo Mazzone said that when he first came to work for the Braves Bobby told him that. Mazzone said that the whole 15 years he served under Cox, he only intentionaly threw at a handful of batters, and for as good of a reason you can have for purposely hitting someone. Bobby Cox went out of his way to tell Milwaukee manager that they were completely unintentional, and I know Bobby Cox wouldn't do that if they really were intentional. If MLB was going to suspend JV and Bobby they need to suspend a few Brewers pitchers along with the manager and Prince Fielder, Prince tried to take out the 2nd baseman, and he could have seriously injured someone, Gonzalez, Glaus, and Heyward were hit, and a some inside pitchers were thrown to McCann, and I find it hard to believe they weren't ment to hit him.
This is a load of bull crap to me. A big fat load of freakin bull crap. What do you guys think?
9 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoCan you believe Barry Bonds?! (Read inside)!?
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=507574...
Can you believe him?! "Proud" of Mark McGwire for admitting PED use?! If he's so proud then why doesn't he admit his own use???!! WE ALL KNOW HE DID IT!!! I'm like "yeah Barry, cause you've got room to talk!".
11 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWhat do you guys think of this?
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100301&c...
I'm suspious now, of both of them. Since the Yankees had no knowledge of this doctor seeing Alex Rodriguez, how can you not be? I doubt the Mets know anything of him seeing Jose Reyes either.
9 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoRookies of the Year 2009?
Who do you think will win for the AL and NL.
It's annouced on Monday and I cant wait.
I think Hanson and Beckham have a good chance, what about you guys?
9 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoDo you like/dislike the Wild Card?
The Wild Card hasnt been around very long, I know some people that hate it, and hate having 3 divisions per league. I know people that love it.
Here's the thing:
If say the Yankees won the division.
And the Red Sox won the Wild Card.(Like this year)
The Yankees beat the Twins in the ALDS, and say the Red Sox win, and they play the Yankees. Isn't it unfair to the Yankees that they have to play the Red Sox again? They played the regular season to prove who the best team in the division was, now the Yankees have to have to "prove" it again? Why did we play the regular season?
Thats one point of view, the other is;
Alot of teams improve over the season, and a Wild Card team can be good too.
What do you guys think?
14 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoYankee's players requirements?
I know the Yankees have strict rules, like the players can't have their hair to long, or wear their shirt unbuttoned, it's in their contract. How long are they allowed to have it? Are they allowed to have facial hair?
Like Johnny Damon shaved his beard off when he joined the Yankees, and none of the Yankees have really long hair. Does anyone know the exact rules?
2 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWould someone mind explaining how Cano was safe?
His foot was off the bag. Why was he called safe?
Is there a rule that I'm unaware of??
11 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWhy does it say "J.Martin" on the back of Russell Martin's jersey?
I noticed that when I was watching the playoffs. Why is that? 'J' isn't his middle intial, why is that on the back of his jersey.
