  • What would you do about this teacher?

My son is in grade 10. He has Aspergers Syndrome (type of autism).

In school this year he is taking Automotive shop. The teacher seems to have a hair trigger temper and just isn't very nice. The screaming started the first week of school. I told my son to just keep working hard and hoped things would get better.

Yesterday he asked my son to do something and my son did it exactly as he was told, however, that wasn't what the teacher wanted - he wanted more done. So he started swearing and yelling at my son. "When you take a **** do you wipe your own *** and if you do then why am I seeing all this **** all over the place?" etc, etc, etc, etc.

This teacher's bullying seemed to give the students a license to bully my son as well and it's been a horrible couple days in the class which the teacher does nothing about.

I want the teacher's head on a platter at the moment. I can't talk to the school till Monday. Not sure just what to do or say. What would you do?

  • Galveston - Joe's Crab Shack?

We were down in the US a couple years ago and have wonderful memories of Joe's Crab Shack. The kid's were talking about it this morning and we got to wondering if it survived the last hurricane.

Is there anyone from down there that could tell us if it is still around? I'd appreciate it very much. Thank you!

  • Anyone dealing with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy?

My 12yr old daughter has just been diagnosed with HOCM thanks to a very alert ER doctor. We are still in the middle of testing with the cardiologist so we don't know the full extent of it yet.

I'm just wondering if any other parents here are dealing with it? How are you coping? Is it progressing in your child or is it stable? Any info you happen to have or great websites or books regarding HOCM would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to prepare kids for pet's death?

We've had our dog for almost 11 years. The kids have grown up not knowing a time without him. Dusty is very sick and my husband thinks he has cancer.

I want to give them a little time with him and then we'll take him in tomorrow. How do you prepare kids for this? They know he's been sick but I don't think they've even thought about the fact that he's probably dying. They are 11, 12 & 15. This is going to be so hard.

  • Can you help with ideas for a single wanting to tour England? ?

I'm a Canadian and hoping to come to England at the end of August.

I'm helping a friend move there (to Whitney). I'll be with her for a week and then I'd like to spend some time touring but have no clue how, what, where.

I think I may prefer a tour as I don't know if I'd want to go around alone. Anyone have any ideas? I love architecture and museums as well as beautiful scenery.

Thanks for any help you can give.

  • Won 46" HDTV Need help with where to put it?

How far away from the couch should I put this thing? I figured we'd mount in on the wall with a mount that we can turn but I'm not sure just how far away to put it. It's a Sharp Aquos.

We have a couple different options for rooms as well. I'm not sure I want it upstairs in the living room but that's usually where the family watches together. Otherwise it will be downstairs in the family room but it's rather cold down there - there is more space however.

Also, any idea on how to figure out which mounting hardward to buy??

I'm not sure this thing was worth winning - it's expensive to set up! *grin*

  • If you don't want Deathly Hallows spoiled - stay OFF the internet!?

There are people here complaining that things are being spoiled for them. Think folks. There are always people who want to spoil things for others and there are those who do it without thinking.

If you don't want your read spoiled, quit wasting your time reading here and go finish the book - THEN join in the discussion instead of yelling at everyone on a public site where everyone is discussing the book.
