Did I cause damage to my tv?
I recently bought a tv and sound bar to go with it. When I connected the sound to the tv I foolishly misread the instructions and connect both the hdmi cable and an optical cable to the tv when I only needed the hdmi cable as the tv has an hdmi arc port. The tv would reset itself randomly until I discovered the error. Any idea if this will have a long term effect on the tv though I have corrected the wiring?

All of the channels of my new television come in great, but one. sometimes the picture and sound are distorted, other times it is fine.?
Favorite Answer:If cable or satellite then it's not your tv and you can do nothing about it.
If it is a antenna channel then you either need to move your antenna or the station is
having problems.
If you check the signal strength on the tv you will know for sure.
If the signal is poor then it's a antenna aiming issue.
If it's strong then it's likely station issues

What should I do with a TV that doesn’t work?
Favorite Answer:Shops that take donated old and non working computers for recycle will sometimes also take flat screen televisions that do not work...I was able to donate my old HDTV to one of these shops. It worked but had a flickering back lite in some zones... The computer shop felt confident they could fix it and also use it...This shop refurbished and fixed old computers that were then bought by a local school district which were then given to students that could not afford to buy their own computers. So it was a non-profit organization.

What is a good TV for me to buy for under £500, no Chinese brands?
Favorite Answer:Just avoid TCL and HiSense if that’s a driving force. Samsung (South Korea) and Sony (Japan) are the industry leaders.

What TVs are as good as S20+ display?
Find myself these days watching HDR films on my S20 + over a £400 HDR Samsung TV, as the quality is night and day (despite the size), just wondering what 40" or so TVs are out that can truely match the screen quality of the S20 +, and how many thousands it would cost! Thanks

Why do people buy 5k TV sets and then go home and plug it into an 1080p cable box or stream at most 4K movies?
Favorite Answer:It is the "L&G Effect." Latest and Greatest. When a new product comes out that is touted as 'better', 'faster', 'more powerful.' there are some people that will drool all over it just to get it, even though the current cable streaming or other data they have at home is less. it's all about wanting to own what's L&G.

How cold is too cold for TV?
I live in Texas where we lost power for a few days during the winter storm so the indoor temperature reached the 30s F°. Would it be safe to turn on the tv now that we have power again? I’ve been told by my BIL that our tv might be ruined after the storm due to coldness. It’s a Samsung QLED TV I believe not too sure
