I'm negotiating with a guy to buy a Canon 70-200L f4.0 lens off Craigslist; it is complete with everything (hood, box, pouch, both covers) plus a Hoya HMC filter for total of $475 and is in excellent condition. They are selling these for brand new on Adorama for $599 (no filter) and shipping is free, but hey, who wouldn't like to save $165 by the time I bought the new one plus a $40 filter.

After sitting on a shelf for a few months I tried to turn on my Dell Latitude D610 today, but it won't turn on or powerup. When plugged in to a powersupply (its light is on) the power led on the laptop doesn't light up. There is no respones from the power button. No status leds are on. The battery leds do light up and indicate full charge.

This week I want to drive from Reno NV to Portland OR. We will be driving a crossover type wagon (between car and SUV). The routing programs recommend north on Hwy 395 to Susanville, then Hwy 44 to Old Station, then Hwy 89 to interstate 5 just north of Dunsmuir. The dot.ca.gov recommendations are not very clear for non-natives, and alternate routes are much longer but I do want to go a safe route.

We'll be stopping by on vacation to Anaheim, and spending a few hours in Hollywood, checking out Chinese Theater, walk of fame and just generally being dorks, but where is a good, safe place to park while being dorkish?
