Why is it that most liberals I know think John Stewart is a serious journalist?
I am an independent voter and I think John Stewart is funny, a whole lot more than I think Colbert is funny. But I don't have enough fingers to count the times that I have listened to a political discussion and heard liberals quoting John Stewart and his show like it is some form of credible outlet of journalism. Even though lots of conservatives listen to Beck and Limbaugh I've never heard them touted as being anymore than just opinion commentators.
15 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy do people post links to free movie sites when the movies aren't really free?
People have been posoting links to the new Karate Kid 2010 movie and swearing they are free but the sites require you tio submit a credit card before you can view the movie, or the movies are simply trailers for the film. Also many of the sites have no movie whatsoever but are just ad sites for the movie. I want to see the film in the theatre and I am going soon but I can't understand why there are idiots who swear there is a totally free site to watch the film and then you go to the site and it's bogus.
5 AnswersMovies1 decade agoHow long can the healthcare industry sustain the fledging US economy?
According to yahoo news the healthcare industry is the only sector in the economy which is seeing sustained job growth and increased wages. This can't possibly last forever. Will the health care industry get Walmartized meaning they'll eventually have a glut of people and start paying everyone $8.00 an hour like all the other industries are trying to do?
1 AnswerEconomics1 decade agoGood looking and can't get a date...personality? attitude?.............?
I've been reading lots of posts lately where people describe themselves as good looking but can't get a date. Most of the time people blame it on their having a bad personality or attitude.
Years ago I lived in a certain part of the country. I had no social life and got turned down repeatedly when I asked girls for dates. Then I moved away and I had more dates than I knew what to do with. Later the same thing happened. I moved again and no social life. A few years later I moved again and presto! Dating again.
Everyone blamed my downtime on my attitude and personality but I couldn't have changed on a dime like that. Anyone else have this or similar experience?
5 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoAttraction?
I've been seeing lots of posts with people asking "why can't good looking people get dates?" The immediate response is usually "Oh.....it's your personality." Years ago I was socially in the dumps. All my friends and relatives said the same thing to me. But then I moved and immediately I had more interactions with women than I knew what to do with. I moved some time later and the same thing happened - no dating. Then when I moved to a different state my social life was up and running again. Anyone esle had this experience? It couldn't have been my attitude since it can't just turn on a dime like my social life did
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoIs Missouri just a really boring state or what?
I lived there all my life and I moved away a few years ago. It was like a new world just totally opened up to me. I saw things that I never did before and enjoyed things, like SCUBA diving that are impossible there. I have been away about three years and I would never go back. If I did I think it would be so depressing.

5 AnswersEconomics1 decade agoWhy did the children of the 90's despise the 80's so much?
I mean sure...the 80's had its fashion and culture train wrecks but so did the 90's whose fashion was mostly bastardized 70's. And remember those dumb Dr. Seuss hats? I honestly don't remeber being in the 80's and having such a vepid hatred of the 70's. It always seemed like the 90's crowd tried to assign some "greater meaning" to their mindless fads in order to legitimize them.
