Thinking about getting my MBA while enlisted. Thoughts? Have any of you done this?
So I've had a lot of free time lately and I'm thinking about maybe doing an online thing since I can't really be present at a university. Not really sure if I should do MBA or a specialized Masters.
Also, can you use your GI Bill while active duty? I know lots of people have done it, but it seems like it would be very difficult with the schedule we're on.
3 AnswersMilitary9 years agoNavy ratings... how is a CTM from an ET? What exactly does a CTM do?
I am transferring from DLI in Monterey, CA to Pensacola to be a CTM. I can't seem to find a whole lot about the rating besides it is very broad. Most POs here didn't know the rate still existed when I tell them I'm headed to Pensacola. I have a friend who is an ET, and he says it is very similar to that except with CTM you get to keep your TS/SCI clearance.
Anybody have experience with the rating?
1 AnswerMilitary9 years agoNavy hair regulations for men?
I've read the navy hair regulations page, but do they really allow men to have a hair length of 4 inches? Anybody with the longest allowable hair allowed for men have any pictures? Thanks!
9 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoJoining the navy as an e3 with my bachelors degree... couple questions.?
The reason I didn't go officer is because I have around $40,000 of eligible loans that qualify for the loan repayment, and that is available for only those that enlist. My job title is MC and I leave in September. I also scored a 93 on the ASVAB. Also, please don't advise me to go in the route of officer right away because then I wouldn't qualify for the loan repayment program, plus I've already enlisted. I've added it up, and I'll be getting more with my loan repayment than I would with the increased officer pay.
Here are my questions...
1) If I were to become an officer, would I have to wait until my 5 year period is up that I've already enlisted for?
2) If I do decide to become an officer after 3 years (when my loans are paid off), how much longer do I have to sign for?
Any other info you wish to provide would be great. :)
Thanks!
3 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoIs anybody a mass communications specialist for the navy?
Do you like it? Dislike? I've scoured the net and can't seem to find very much information about it. I leave for basic in September and this is the job that I signed for. I would just like some information from someone in the field. Thanks!
3 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoNavy enlistment job recommendations?
I will be joining the Navy a little late on this year, and was wanting to get some opinions on jobs I should do. I took the practice ASVAB at the Navy recruiting office and scored a 93 out of 99. They said I would pretty much be able to choose whatever I wanted and I'm really not sure which direction to go. They were talking about Nuke but I don't know if I want to do with all of the science that goes along with it. I'm thinking about doing Air Traffic Control. I want something that would help me get a nice job when I finish up in 5 years. I would try and go in as an officer, but then I wouldn't qualify for the loan repayment program. Thanks!
Also, I am graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelor's in General Studies in May.
4 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoNavy loan repayment, paid off in three years no matter what?
To start things off, I am around $55 - $60,000 in debt with student loans. I will be graduating in May with a Bachelor of Science in General Studies and noticed that on the Navy's website that they pay back 33.3% of your loans each year you are enlisted.
Just want to double check and make sure, but does this mean that as long as I have under $65,000 in debt that it will all be paid back within three years?
I know it seems self-explanatory, but it almost just seems too good to be true
