8 AnswersTattoos1 decade agoWill this build my credit rating (cheaply) while through Uni?
I start university in September and would like to start building my credit score for my benefit on leaving university in 3-4 years. I applied for a credit card today but would the following be any benefit?
If I max out my credit limit per month, say £300 (low because of my age + in education) and put it into a savings account. If I then pay this off in full, plus interest, It'll cost me about £8 pm (39.9% APR) and thus no huge fee is incurred. Would this actually work if I could do this every month throughout uni to give me some kind of decent credit rating? I'd max out my credit limit as it increased, too.
4 AnswersCredit1 decade agoDo you pay interest on a credit card if I make payments on time?
I've been offered a credit card however as an 18 year old in full time education I'm kind of sceptical. I'd like to get one with a low credit limit purely to build a credit rating however I'm not sure about payments and how they work specifically.
If I make purchases and pay off the bill on time, will I pay any interest? I'm under the assumption I don't..
Also, how does 39.9% APR convert into interest payments, if there are any?
Thanks

5 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhat is Essex University like?
Possible choice, though I have not yet seen the university. If I am to take up my offer, I will be at the Colchester Campus. What is it like, both the university and the surrounding area?

As Essex is a very possible choice for university, what is it like to live there?

2 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoLooking for a song with "chains" in the song title?
It's quite old I think, I would probably class it as R&B with a black female vocal.
Any ideas? Desperately need it for tomorrow!
2 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agopossible ADHD or anything?
I can never sit still, if I stop my legs for example I can feel them wanting to move again. I put off literally every bit of work I do unless it really interests me, which is probably one subject, 20% of the time.
I mumble a lot because I seem to talk fast and people's first impressions of me are pretty much "dumb" although I think of myself as relatively quite clever. I've always got very good grades at school with little effort, for example GCSEs I left all revision to the last minute but got a string of As. Now though, as it takes a lot more dedication and work, I fail. I try and try to revise but unless it interests me or gets me thinking I physically cannot do it. I can't sit and read a book either, although I used to read a lot as a kid; now I feel like I'm just skimming the pages and not taking anything in.
Sometimes I'm really quiet but other times I'm really loud or in desperate need of a party or something really "fast paced".
I'm not very organised but having a good memory has made up for that in the past in terms of school work...with revision to get done so close to exams and people starting to tell me I can be quite odd sometimes I'm only really starting to question it.
It wouldnt have occurred in early childhood as I was very shy, anything else it could be? Any way I can at least calm down and concentrate...

6 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoDoes game theory apply to consumerism?
I understand game theory on a basic level, but not really where/how it is applied.
Is it fair to say it comes into place when people buy, for example, a new ipod? Advertising influences the person, and the fact that others in society have one, make you one to get one too.
Essentially, society influences consumer choices. Is this correct?
Please correct me if you can! thanks
1 AnswerEconomics1 decade agoStarting out learning to DJ?
I have always loved music and so thought I would give it a go, however not wanting to spend too much money on equipment at first, in case it wasn't for me, I bought Virtual DJ home edition for £30.
Having had a little play around and looking at some videos, I've learnt to crossfade and basically just learn what all the buttons do. Although it's not real equipment, I'd say it's similar enough for me to learn the basics.
So, what can I learn? when you started out what did you do to get into it? A little bit lost at where to go with it etc so any advice would help
cheers

Is there anywhere at the minute where I might be able to find one, considering the sales are still going and christmas staff are still working.
Also, should I write a cover letter and post my CV? I'd rather take it to the store, but I'd like to show that I am flexible, willing to work overtime etc - can this be included in personal statement? I already have a CV but would like to make a few adaptations.
