I have just tried to install an aftermarket head unit in a 2001 BMW 330ci and I cant get the plug adapter behind it to move out of the way. In other words the radio wont go all the way in, and i was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for how to make it fit?

Also, does anybody know if there is a way to fix the screens on the head units? If not is there somewhere i could take it to fix? Or would it just be cheaper to get a new one?

I will need to drive in snow too so the AWD G35x kinda has the upper hand so far even though i like the luxury of the FWD TL. Ive also heard the TL is a bit more sporty but the G35x is more customizable?

okay so tonight i had two drinks, then like 20 mins later had a cigarette (i dont smoke cigarette more than once every 6 months at least so i get a massive headrush or whatever its called every time pretty much. and it is usually kinda enjoyable.) but tonight after the rush i started going blind? i couldnt see people who were standing right next to me or even bright lights from fireworks and barely hear them even though they shook the ground? i decided to wait it out and it went away gradually after like 5 minutes?

i cant think of any possible reason for this to happen, and i dont plan to smoke ever again after this, but please explain why it happened?

(it was like the white blindness that i get right before i pass out but this time i didnt feel like i would pass out. and it wasnt a "little buzz". it was like my whole senses just shut down, i was struggling to keep my balance even though i wasnt even tipsy)

Okay, so I recently had wiring for a sub in the trunk professionally installed, and they took leads off two of the wires going to the stock sub in the trunk but left it connected.

It was a clean good install, but i decided to change the sub and amp out and put bigger ones in. I also wanted the ski door/sub through to the trunk open so its more SPL and noise in the car. To do this i unplugged and removed the stock sub/ski door and the middle thing in the back seat. I also had to cut the remote wire (but took out the fuse first) and splice it back together and put fuse back in.

When i started the car to go out that night, the new system sounded great, but dash lights came on that say the tail lights are out, but when i went behind the car, theyre still on...?

So eventually i get to my question, which is dou you think i blew a fuse or shorted one of the electrical components? I wasnt working anywhere near wires for the tail lights i think...

I have a 600w 2ohm 2channel amp with low, high, and flat crossover options. I plan to use this amp to push a Kicker CVR 10" sub with 400w RMS.

I have not installed the system in my car yet.

1) What is a crossover, and why should it be used?

2) Should I reconsider pairing the amp and sub up due to the amp have higher watts than the sub's RMS?

3) Should I use a capacitor?

4) What is the remote wire, and where do I put the other end of it?

How do you tell which capacitor is the right one for your system? i am getting a 600 watt amp and sub.

I have a 2001 bmw 330ci with the harman kardon upgrade, so there is a stock amp and sub in the trunk so wires are already there. All i want to do is add a sub/amp in the trunk.

1) Do I need to run new wires? I dont know the gauge of the stock wires or if theyre good enough for the new system.

2) Should I disconnect the stock amp and replace it with my new one, or split the wires and keep the stock amp there so both amps are hooked up?

3) If i hook up the other speakers in the car to a 600w amp, is that bad for them? (im guessing theyre hooked up to the stock amp at the moment?)

4) Should I get a capacitator?

5) Anything else I need? (car upgrades, etc.)

I recently posted a question about what specs i need in order to buy an amp, but i did not receive enough info.

I have an audiobahn 12" with 2000RMS and 3" quad coil @ 2ohms each

On the site it says Operation is 0.5, 2 or 8 Ohm

1) How many channels does the amp need to have? And what are channels?

2) Is Operation ^^ the impedance the amp needs to have?

3) Do i need a crossover or anything else other than wiring?

I just bought a 12" Audiobahn immortal sub, and I have no idea what all the stuff about voice coil, impedance, RMS, etc means.

Please tell me what specs I should be looking for in an amp.

Here are my sub specs:

-Quad Voice Coil

-Impedance 2 Ohms per voice coil (does this mean i need an 8ohms amp?)

-RMS 2000watts (also, can i get a bigger amp but turn it down? like 3000w?)
