  • Increasing milk supply?

I breastfed for the first 4-5 weeks and then switched to strictly pumping due to some complications of breastfeeding caused by surgery after delivering. He is 4 months and I have been pumping every 3-4 hours to try and increase my milk. He is taking about 5-6 ounces and I am only producing about 1-2 ounces every 3 hours. My morning supply is usually between 4-6 ounces, which helps. I have taken Reglan twice now and it helped but as soon as I got off, it decreased immediately. Is there anything else I can do to try and increase my supply. I want to breastfeed as long as possible.

  • Victim's Impact Statement?

    Victim's Impact Statement?

Last July, my then 6 month old nephew was abused by his father while his mom (my sister) was at work. Their 5 year old son witnessed it and later told me at the hospital. My nephew suffered a brain bleed, 2 retinal hemorrhages and suffered from seizures while in the ICU. Their father was found guilty last month and his sentencing hearing will be coming up. We are allowed to write a statement of how this affected our lives. I'm having a really hard time writing this because I don't like to think about how my nephew almost lost his life.

Has anyone ever had to write one of these? Had a similar situation? Advice?

  • 36 weeks and feeling the pressure?

I'm 36 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Monday I went to the doctor and let her know i was having a little bit of pressure (nothing uncomfortable) and when she checked me I wasn't dilated but thinning just a little bit. Tuesday/Wednesday came around and now I feel like I went horseback riding because my pubic bone and inner thighs are so sore. Is this baby moving into position? Anything to help ease with the pain? Does it last until baby arrives?

    Thanks! :)

  • If I see one more "Am I pregnant" question.........?

Sorry it may be insensitive, but gosh there are so many of those questions on here! It's annoying. Take a test and it will tell you if you are pregnant. Stop asking! I just get annoyed by the immature questions and ridiculous statements. Ugh...just had to vent for a sec. Wish there could be a different section for those types of questions so I didn't have to see them. Anyone else feel like this sometimes?

  • Throwing up while brushing teeth?

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and have been having issues with my gag reflex. It was getting better with brushing my teeth, but now it seems like my toothpaste makes me throw up several times.

Any suggestions? I don't see my doctor until next week so anything that could help until then would be greatly appreciated!

  • Can I sue my Doctor for this?

I know this is kind of long, but bear with me.

I am 10 weeks 5 days pregnant. I've had some occasional spotting throughout my pregnancy but my lab work and ultrasounds have always been fine. Also the heartbeat has always been very strong. Monday night I had a little spotting so i called my doctor tuesday morning. She had me come in for lab work and a follow up with her later that day. When she saw me, she told me my hcg levels had dropped from 98,000 to 28,000 and that I was having a miscarriage. She told me there was nothing I could do about it and it would pass on its own. She said she wanted me to come in the following week for more lab work so she could see my levels back down to 0. I asked her if she was sure and if there was anything I could do and she said she was sure and there was nothing i could do.

I was completely heartbroken, devestated, you name it. I had to tell my husband we were losing our baby and we let our families know as well. Everyone was highly upset. I missed work, stayed in bed and cried all day.

I called my doctor's office back Wednesday morning because I just thought that somehow there was a mistake. I had gone in last Friday because I had a little bleeding and my ultrasound and bloodwork was just fine. Baby's heartbeat was 173 bpm too. So i just didn't understand how everything could be fine and now this. The on call doctor brought me in for an ultrasound and I had prepared myself for the worst. Happy to say that I am still very pregnant! My baby was growing and its heartbeat was 184 bpm. I saw the tiny arms, legs, fingers, etc. The on call doctor called me again to say that it is normal for my hcg levels to drop around this time in my pregnancy and I was not having a miscarriage.

So my question is- can i sue my doctor for providing me with false information? I'm not seeking millions of dollars or anything like that, but what she did was wrong and she should've followed up with more tests. My instinct was right and i had to go through all that emotional trauma for nothing.

    What are your thoughts?

  • After the divorce? Christian advice...?

What do I do? I am currently going through a divorce and finding it difficult to move on and ahead with my life. My husband and I were only married a little over a year and I never wanted the divorce. It is hard trying to make a new life without him and it's so weird. Did anyone ever feel like this? I am going to start christian counseling soon but any christian advice or thoughts would help. I am just having mixed feelings about the divorce. Also, I feel I never got any closure..he hasn't spoken with me since june 2008 and he actually had his parents tell me he didn't want to be with me. I am 20 , he is 22. Any christian advice or thoughts on what to do? I've been growing closer to God and my relationship with Him is strong, but I still find it difficult to accept this divorce.

Note: Anyone who leaves crude or offensive comments will be deleted! Please help...

  • Question about pregnancy?

I just got bloodwork done to see if I was pregnant, because i'm not due for my period for a couple of weeks, so home pregnancy tests would be a waste of time. I got my reslts back and it said I was not pregnant. I really do think I am though. I am on the pill, but lately I haven't been taking it at the same time and have missed a day with it too. I am married so I do have sex on a regular basis. I started getting really nauseas about a month ago and have thrown up a couple of times. I've always had a great sense of smell but now it's hightened. I get sick when I smell certain things too. My stomach looks a little bigger and when I press on it, it is semi-hard and hurts a little. Has this ever happened to anyone? What should I do? I was really hoping I would be pregnant. Any advice, I'm kind of in the dumps right now. :(
