I spilled liquid on my laptop and now it's fried. I've bought a new one but I still need to recover the files from my hard drive.

-Is it possible to do without taking the laptop apart?

-Is there some kind of cable I can use to connect my new laptop to the old hard drive? (Like a double USB or USB to SATA) Again, I'd prefer to not open up the old laptop if it's at all avoidable.

-Whatever I need to perform this, be it cables or whatever else, where would I purchase the things I need?

Like even for menial jobs? What about temp agencies? Is a background check inevitable?

They are not valid outside of the state they are issued in without some sort of extradition request, right?

Like let's say you like in Arizona but there's a warrant for you in Nevada. If a cop pulls you over, for say, speeding, can he arrest you because of that warrant? Or would there have to be an extradition request out for you?

If an intruder broke into our apartment, and I shot him with my roomate's gun, would I be charged with murder or unauthorized use of a weapon, or something? Or would it be rightfully considered self defense?

(Gun grabbers, please keep your anti-2nd-ammendment opinions to yourself. I'm really not interested.)

Like let's say someone is facing a misdemeanor charge (like for example petty shoplifting) and decides to skip bail. Obviously an arrest warrant will be issued.

The person changes their address and move on to another state. Is it likely that the original state (the one that issues the arrest warrant) simply decides it's not worth pursuing and does not submit a formal extradition request?

...be aware of my prior offenses? This is the first time I've been charged with a misdemeanor in that county, and I'm hoping that's all the judge knows. Anyone know?

Whenever I try to install a program, ANY program, I always get some kind of message like '____ did not install properly, please try again' and stuff like that.

I just did a factory reset, so I know it's not a virus.

The only possible contributing factor to this problem that I can think of is magnet damage, as I recently let a kitchen magnet too close to it. But I did install a couple programs after that without problems. It just now started.

Could magnet damage be responsible? If so, is there any way to reverse it?

If not, what else could be done?

I soon have to report to jail to serve a 15 day sentence for underage drinking. When they ask me if I'm withdrawing from anything, and I say yes, could I possibly face additional charges?

I got several blots on my record that might be considered red flags. Please do me a favor and keep your answer objective. I m not interested in hearing about how I m a drug addicted scumbag or whatever.

-Spent 3 days in a suicide prevention clinic

-Pled guilty to DUI

Are any of these likely to prevent me from getting a concealed carry permit? How vigorous are their background checks?
