Spirit Airlines charging for carryon bags: Your opinion?
I'm truly fed up with the airlines finding ways to lure passengers with lower fares only to then rack up charges: checked bags, food and water, and now carry-on bags. Is anyone else out there as irritated as me? The airline industry is one where I don't mind paying more for SAFETY, comfort, and convenience, up front. (As an aside, imagine my irritation when I paid to have a bag checked and the airline lost it. That was so much worse than if the charge had been buried in the actual ticket price rather than a separate charge.)

Breaking News used to be a term reserved for truly monumental news - the assassination of President Kennedy, the fall of the Berlin Wall - now everything is breaking news, and yesterday I saw a new take, "urgent breaking news" - which was about social gossip/news, no less. What???
