Would the check engine light come on if the transmission fluid is low?
I worried that I might be low on transmission fluid. I can't manually check the fluid level because I can't find the dipstick and I'm starting to think that there isn't one for my car, which is a 2012 Mazda 3i. So, would the check engine light come on if the transmission fluid is low?
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs7 years agoWhich road bike would you recommend for me?
I need a bike for getting around as fast and efficiently as possible. There are no hills, except for bridges, and no sharp turns, so something more laid back would be nice. I'll be doing a most 20 miles at a given time. I'm able to spend around $500. Which bike would you recommend me? Would it be a good idea to get one with an electric or petrol motor? Where is a good place or website to browse bikes?
3 AnswersCycling8 years agoCan a regular point and shoot camera survive while taking a video in a freezer for about 1 hour?
The camera I'm thinking about using is the Sony HX-5V, which is not water proof or resistant to any extreme conditions such as freezer temperatures. I need to keep it in there for ideally about an hour but if that isn't recommended, I could bring that down to about 15 minutes. If it isn't possible, then how can I prepare my camera to do it? Would wrapping the camera in an air tight layer of plastic do anything? If there's nothing that can be done, which features would a camera need to do something like this? I'm sure that something like the Pentax Optio Wg cameras could handle this, but I don't want to buy something that costly when I possibly don't have to buy it.
After inside the freezer I realize that it needs to slowly get back to room temperature. I'm pretty sure that the battery will continue working because it's going to be taking a video, which creates a lot of heat.

I did unexpectedly one day but I don't know what I did exactly. I think it has something to do with the side buttons though.
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans8 years agoCanon 55-250mm IS II vs. Sigma 70-300mm APO Macro?
I want a telephoto lens and I can't decide between these two.
The Canon has superior image quality, but less of a focal range. Will the image quality of of the Canon compensate for the lower focal length if I decide to crop the image so that it's equivalent to 300mm?
The Canon also has image stabilization, which I don't see as so useful since I'm going to use a telephoto lens outdoors anyway, where my shutter speed is fast enough for any shakes. But, I know the IS comes in handy when shooting video, which I do sometimes. How good is the IS? I have never used an IS from Canon before and the Sigma 18-50mm's OS is almost unnoticeable for me.
The Canon also handles chronic aberration better even though the APO version was supposed to be good at cancelling that. What's a program out there that can fix the chronic aberrations of a Sigma lens that's preferably free or cheap (around $20)? The software Canon gave me doesn't work with other lenses other than Canon.
But, what really makes this a hard decision for me is that the Sigma's magnification is nice (1:2). I like macro photography. I have a macro lens already, but it's only 60mm and having a lens that does 1:2 at 300mm would be nice to have.
Any comments at all would be appreciated in helping in the decision between these two lenses. Is there a lens that's better for around $200, maybe even $300?

3 AnswersGeography9 years agoWill the Sigma 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM for Canon work on a Canon SLR?
It says that it has an EF mount, but it also says that it's meant for smaller formats. Will it work on a 35mm SLR camera?
4 AnswersCameras9 years agoWhat is a good tripod for macro photography for around $60?
There are so much tripods that look the same at this price range: somewhat tall with thin legs. Which tripod is the best for around $60? I'm going to do a lot of macro photography but also general-purpose video, but I don't think I'll need to do any panning.
I am currently looking at the the Dolica Proline series. They include 5-year warranties, so they must be confident that their thin legs won't break easily! Is there another tripod that's better for about $60?

http://www.photozone.de/canon-eos/461-canon_100_28...
According to those results, which were done on the same camera (Canon T1i), the Canon 60mm macro lens is as sharp as the Canon 100mm macro L lens and better wide open with a cropped sensor.
Is there something I'm missing here?
1 AnswerCameras9 years agoDo EF-S lens also get a multiplied focal length because of cropped sensors?
If it still does, then why the heck does Canon and Nikon make these lenses that have limited compatibility?? And why don't they make lenses that don't get effected?
So, for example, they say that a 50mm EF lens will actually be about 80mm on a sensor with a 1.6 crop factor. But, what will a 50mm EF-S lens be on a sensor with a 1.6 crop factor? 50mm or about 80mm??
6 AnswersCameras9 years agoWhich set of close-up lens has the best quality for around $50?
I'm currently thinking about getting these to use with a sigma 70mm-300mm APO macro (EF mount).
http://www.amazon.com/Zeikos-definition-Close-Up-D...
But, I see that there are others 58mm close-up lenses that are around 30-50 dollars. Which company gives the better close-up lens? Hoya, Tiffen, or Polaroid? And is it worth the extra cash compared to the zeikos I'm thinking about getting?
Or, should I get a double element close-up lens like this one?
http://www.amazon.com/Definition-Close-Up-Stronger...
Which will be the least hindering to the image quality? I'm also open to other recommendations on other methods of macro shooting that don't disable anything like electronics on a lens.(for around $50) Also. extension tubes will not work well with the sigma because it limits focusing until 200mm.
4 AnswersCameras9 years agoIs it a good idea to get a step up adapter ring 52mm to 58mm filter size to only buy one set of close up lens?
I'm planning on buying two lenses and I'm fascinated in macro photography. They have different filter sizes and I was wondering if I could just buy one set of 58mm filter size close up lens and get an adapter so it's compatible with both lenses.
Would a 58mm filter size close up lens work on a 52mm (canon 50mm f/1.8) filter size lens indifferently? Am I using the words "lens" , and "lenses" correctly?

3 AnswersCameras9 years agoWould a 10 mb/s SD card keep up with a 12MP DSLR shooting RAW?
I'm thinking about getting the Canon T3 since I just want to be able to fully control a camera. I have an SD card that I'm currently using with my 10MP point and shoot and I think it keeps up. But, Jpeg pictures on it is only about 3 to 4Mb. Do you guys think I'll have less lag between pictures if I upgraded to a SD card that supposedly does 30 Mb/s or would it just be the same?
