  • Is anyone else aware that our Naval base in San Diego is in the shape of a nazi swastika?

Navy planners claim it was an oversight. I have been in the construction industry nearly 30 years and all plans have a top view of the project, even back then. Coincidence or not?

  • Anna Nocole Smith? Leave it alone?

My brother once had a relationship with Anna Nicole Smith years before she became a superstar and tragically passed. I can attest to this since I did in fact meet her years ago. He has been silent over the years and is now wondering if he should write a book on the "pre Anna Nicole Smith", known back then as Nikki Smith. Nothing really damaging to her image or nastiness involved, Just a different side of the girl that few have really known. Your input please.

  • Overkill or wreckless governement spending?

Yesterday, my brother called me and said there was a comotion outside with the police and they were telling everyone to go inside. I decided to go over to my brothers to check on him since he is in a wheelchair. There was a large police presence including local police (6 cars), fire department (2 trucks), paramedics, sheriffs helicopter, sheriffs department (15-20 cars), SWAT, probation, highway patrol (4 cars), 2 command posts (RVS), armored vehicles (3), armored tank (1), unmarked vehicles (20) and finally, approximately 40-60 actual officers (all agencies combined). There has been no confirmed details of the incident but I'll fill you in on what I believe happened.

A car with one male was chased (reason not known) and the suspect stopped in front of his parent's home, ran inside and barricaded himself in the house. I believe he had a weapon, yet to be confirmed, so there was a possible threat for one's safety. Originally there were only a few patrol cars involved but the numbers grew as stated above. The police were waiting for a search warrant so they could break in and arrest the 20 year old male. This took a couple of hours to obtain so there was a lot of down time. Meanwhile, the police presence was so overwhelming and it seemed like more and more vehicles were pouring into the neighborhood. My God,who is this guy they are after and what did he do? Don't get me wrong, I was concerned for the publics safety as well as the suspects safety, but all these cops and all this equipment? With all that time waiting for some form of action, all I could do was think abut how many thousands of dollars is being spent wrecklessly with this one incident at the taxpayers expense. I know these guys were just doing their job but come on, this could have been a $100,000 incident. Ultimately, they sent in a rover to locate the suspect and he was apprehended and taken into custody without incident, from my understanding. The whole incident lasted around 9-10 hours.

I am all for public safety and the programs that represent our safety but how can the same police agencies who are crying about layoffs and budget cuts just simply waste money on incidences like the one I have described? Again I don't know all the facts of the incident, but I do know this could have been handled differently with public safety in tact. As a former employer, I was outraged to see so any government paid employee's just simply standing around. Thanks for the time.

  • Misappropriation of Public funds?

If we contribute our tax dollars to the state fund and we are now basically facing bankruptcy, wouldn't that be considered misappropriation of funds? If so, who would be held accountable? Our state as a business has failed, who's gonna pay?

  • If America were a family and Obama is our father, how do you think he's doing.?

I believe in taking care of your own first and then helping others. You can't help others if you can't help yourself. So if Obama is the father of our country (not literally) why is he so concerned about everyone else and not his own? He talks like he cares but I haven't seen any relief or help from this administration. I am just curious to hear what the people of America think of their father figure.
