Help, Photoshop wont open my RAW files!?
I routinely shoot in RAW and edit photos with Photoshop CS3. I have had the software for several years so, have gone though a few computers with it. On the computer before my current one, when I installed, I lost some of my adjustment sliders when opening a raw photo. Looked around online and realized I needed a plugin. I changed computers again, and have had it for quite sometime, but had never updated the plug in again. Today I tried to download and install the plug in, and something went haywire. I couldn't open raw files anymore! When I try it says Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, and then not installing the plug in, but I'm still getting the same error! I usually just shoot photos for myself, but I also have always done senior portraits for my nieces and nephews, and I'm in a pickle now because I have lots of photos of my beautiful, niece I need to get done!!!
1 AnswerSoftware8 years agoConfusing lease agreement?
My niece has just contacted me for some help understanding her lease agreement. She is 18, and this is her first place on her own. She apparently asked several times during the tour if this was a month to month tenancy and the agent said it was. (she is planning on going to school in the fall, so was just a summer apartment) There is a lot of back story here, but to cut is short, my sister was with her and also asked if it was month to month, and the agent said, that's the only kind of lease we do. My niece signed the lease the following week. Last week she learned that she signed a 12 month lease. First life lesson: read things before you sign them!
Her lease agreement reads as follows:
3. Fixed term tenancy: The term of this agreement shall begin 5/10/2012 and continue until 5/31/2013. If resident holds over after expiration of the term, and --- Apartments accepts rent from resident at the monthly rent specified above, the tenancy shall then continue on a month to month basis. THe initial term shall not exceed 12 months. Resident is required to give written notice 30 days prior to vacating. Resident shall be responsible for repayment of all concessions given at time of move in if this Agreement is breached.
OR
A month to month tenancy automatically renews for successive terms of one month and may be terminated by either party by giving 30 days written notice.
First, the "or" in the middle of this section seems very misleading to me. How can you say Fixed term, then have a big OR. My assumption is that the intent is to say that it is a fixed term, and then rolls over into a month to month. But, that's not the way it reads to me. Just wondering if this a valid way to write a lease. Second, the lease is for 12 months and 21 days, and the lease states it shall not be for more then 12 months.
I'm wondering if this agreement in enforceable, given the ambiguous language regarding the term or month to month, as well as the conflict in the lease time. If she is stuck in this lease, my second questions is; how does she break the lease. There is not a lease break clause in the whole lease. In the term section is says that she has to pay back any concessions, and under the deposit section is says they many retain all or part of it if the agreement is breached. To my understanding that means she can give 30 days notice to move, and she will just forfeit her deposit.
Sorry for being so long winded, but hope someone has some advice!
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate9 years agoWhich type of a acoustic guitar should a beginner use.?
I have heard that a 12 string guitar is easier to play. I have a fairly cheap 6 string, and am having a hard time with it.
Are the more expensive guitars much easier to play, or what is the difference??
9 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoPlease help. We are about to receive $100,000!?
Ok, so, my husband and I are about to receive $100,000, basically as a wage bonus. Long story, but, the money is due by late this year or early next year.
We live in a very rural area, we are a farm/ranch family and earn a very modest income. About 26,000 for a family of 4. Our problem is this:
My husband wants to pay off all of our debt, which right now is about $25,000 to $30,000. Buy a boat, and basically enjoy life. There is nothing wrong with that of course in theory. It would be wonderful to be completely debt free. But, we are butting heads, as, I want to invest the money in some way. We hold a lease with option to buy on a section of land that would be useful to own. Although it would sell for about $120,000, we could get a good ways toward owning it. I know that is not exactly investing, but, at least we would own something that appreciates, instead of just owning our vehicles. The other thing I have been thinking about is buy a duplex in town. We live in a college town, so, rentals usually do pretty well.
Anyway, hope you all followed that, I would really love any advice you may have!
13 AnswersPersonal Finance1 decade agoDr. Cooks bitless bridle vs. Nurtural Bitless Bridle?
We are interested in starting a two year old gelding on a bitless bridle. He is a super gentle horse, has been saddled and ridden, but only acted up a little with the bit. He is very responsive with the halter, and I think a great candidate for the bitless... I am specifically asking for anyone who has used both the Dr. Cooks bitless and the Nurtural bitless. The big difference seems to be the stabilizer on the cross straps under the jaw. Both sites obviously say the other is worse... so, I would love to hear from people that used both! I'm not talking about a Hackamore, or other traditional bitless bridles...

2 AnswersHair1 decade agoPhotoshop Question. I can't use the crop tool!!?
I don't know what the heck is going on with the crop tool. I used to use it just fine, but, now, when I want to crop a photo, or anything in photoshop it is not working. I drag the crop box around what I want to crop down, and when I hit enter, the box I cropped goes really, really tiny, and when I zoom up on it, there is nothing there, not the picture or anything. What is going on???
3 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoMath Problem? How to figure out an average...?
Ok, I need to figure out a math problem.
Here is the situation.
I have 129 head of cattle that were raised in pasture A. When they were sold, they averaged a weight of 704. I have 50 head of cattle brought in and added to the original 129 at sale time, that were raised in pasture B. I only got an average weight on the total 179 head of 692lbs. I need to figure out what the average of the 50 head were before they were added to the 129. Not just the answer please, but, how to figure it out!! Thanks!

11 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow to deweed my lawn??
Hello! I have just moved into my first home with a lawn. It is very large, and very full of weeds, mostly Kosha, foxtail and dandelions. What should I use (I'm sure I will have to wait until next spring) to kill the weeds and keep what grass I do have. I know there is weed and feed, but, I have heard that doesn't work really great. I am in Montana, and we have very hot and dry summers. Any help would be appreciated!!! I am a beginner with lawn and garden, so, please dumb down the explanations!
4 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoHow to pose a family portrait
I'm going to be taking a family portrait. There will be four people. Mom, Dad and a 7 year old boy and a 5 year old girl.
I want it on an all black background, with the family sitting on the floor.
White shirts (dresses) and Khakis. Very casual, bare feet etc...
How do you suggest I arrange them. I was thinking dad sitting with his legs out to the side, with an arm stretched out over a knee that's propped up, and the kids on either side, but, I don't know what to do with mom...
any suggestions?
4 AnswersPhotography1 decade ago80-400mm VR - What do you think?
I'm an amateur photographer. I have only been shooting for a little over a year, but have learned a lot in that time. When I bought my camera the kit lense was the 18-135mm Nikkor. I live in a very rural area, and am mostly trying to take pictures of wildlife. Eagles, hawks, antelope, deer, fox, raccoon, porcupines, badgers. Anything I can find. My current lense leaves a lot to be wanted, and I am looking at getting a really good zoom. My question... is this lense overkill (it's a lot of money for me, and will take some saving) for my needs?? I also am looking into a nice macro lense, any suggestions??

2 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoPhotoshop questions - Great picture, but, I can't save at good quality!?
I have a really great photo that I took of a storm the other night. But, I ended up with some dust spots on the lens, and then of course on the image.
I tried to spot heal them in photoshop, which worked, but, once I save the image the quality of it is drastically reduced. Am I doing something wrong.
When I go to Save As, choose JPG, a box comes up that has a sliding bar to choose the quality of the image. If I put it at the highest quality (11 or 12 I think) a message box pops up that I cannot complete the request due to an error with the program (or something to that effect). The highest quality I can save it at is like an 8, which, when compared to my original photo is not great.
I would like to blow this image up and frame it, but can't do it at this quality, and don't want the dust spots...
Is this a problem with my computer, or am I missing some step...
Thanks for any help
4 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoNot losing weight... What else should I try?
I am 5'8" and currently weigh 145. My ideal weight is 130. I had a baby 8 months ago and went down to 145 on day 6 after the birth. I have not budged since then.
I breast feed and have tracked my calories and I eat almost 2000 calories exactly everyday. I am moderatly active already, we farm and ranch, so I have chores everyday. But, I have started walking 1/2 hour a day about 3 to 4 times a week. I started this 3 weeks ago and have not lost any weight. I don't follow a diet plan, as I don't eat junk food or a lot of sweets and have never had a problem maintaining weight before. This is my second baby, and I lost all my baby weight with the first one within 3 weeks.
Does anyone have any suggestions...
