So Im doing a school speech (I’m in high school) on the romanticism of self harm. Basically, over the past few months, especially on many social media sites, especially Tumblr, I’ve noticed that self harm is being seen as some sort of ‘beautiful tragedy’ which I think is a serious problem. I thought it would be an interesting topic to talk about, obviously because it is relevant to our current society and culture and I don’t know whether it is talked about that much. Im just stuck on how to go about writing it, so if anyone has any thoughts on the subject or advice that would be great :)

We are having a debate on sexism and I was curious to know what countries, if any, do not allow co-education (mixed gender) schools. Thanks :)

Im 14, in year 10, and I need help with writing a closing statement for a debate. Our topic was “New Zealand is the home of sexism” and we were against it. Im writing the opening statement as well and Im not sure how I should format it? It isn’t overly formal, its just a class debate and everyone is a first time debater. So yeah, its two things that I’m kind of confused about? Any help would be great :)

So we have a debate soon and I am a first speaker. The opposing team is starting so I’ll go after their first speaker, does that make a difference to how I write my speech? We were told how to write them but are there certain bits I should add or leave out?

So we are having a class debate next week and my team is against our country being the home of sexism. I am the opening speaker and will be going after the other teams first speaker. So that brings be to my first question which is is my opening statement any different from the opposing teams opening statement, besides the fact we are arguing different points. I also was wondering how to structure it, our teacher gave us a rough idea but Im still slightly confused. Any help would be great :)

So for school we have to do a debate on different type of prejudice. We are doing ours on our country NOT being sexist, and I need some points to back it up. So far we have that our country was the first to let women vote, and second that our female priminister was the longest running one in the world. Any extra points would also be helpful. It is not formal, its just something we are doing in class. Also how to structure it would be very helpful. Thanks :)

We have a debate coming up in a couple of weeks and I need help to write the opening statement. We are meant to be against our country being sexist. Personally, I think our country is sexist which makes it that much harder to write the opening statement. Any points would be great :)

So me and this girl Emma have been best friends since we were 5 and I haven’t really had any sexual attraction to her since then. When we were about 13, she was at my house once and we played truth or dare and yeah you know.. one thing led to another and we ended up making out. Ever since then, whenever she has come over we play truth or dare. She moved away and now she lives a few hours away and she’s coming up in a month or two and I don’t know if I have feelings for her or I’m just experimenting? I just wanna know if this is normal or anyone else’s experiences?

We have small chapter test a couple of times every month for each subject. I’m in grade 8 and I’ve tried a lot of way but I was just wondering what everyone else finds helpful.

So I’m 16 and a few guys like my best friend, they always come to me for advice about her. It’s not that I’m jealous, but it can get annoying when they are always talking about her. She is all they ever talk about with me, and it makes me feel like I’m just one of those girls that no one will every like, you know, like I'm ‘one of the guys’ sorta. I don’t know what I should say to them, up till now I’ve been giving them advice but now its really starting to get to me, what should I do?
