  • Benefits of gay marriage?

    It seems that everyone who supports gay marriage goes immediately to the "fairness" aspect as their driving motivation. But beyond the (certainly not unique) issue of fairness, is there any compelling social or economic benefit to adopt gay marriage as the law of the land? That is, any social or economic good for society as a whole rather than only for gay couples?
