Does Xbox Slim have problems/issues with the wired controller?
I've just obtained an used Xbox Slim 250 GB. It runs fine, but there are a few problems:
1. I've previously had an Xbox 360 wired controller, used it in my laptop. Now that I have the console, I want to use it on the Xbox. However, the wired controller doesn't work fine, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't work at all, well...to say...mostly it doesn't. After I plug the USB cable into Xbox's port, I turn on the console but the controller does nothing, and the controller's LED does not turn on. I just have to change it with the wireless controller.
A friend of mine said that Xbox wired controller is not recommended for use with the Xbox Slim. Is it true? How can I fix it? I personally prefer the wired over the wireless controller, because it won't bother me with battery stuff and I had only a small gaming room.
2. What is the normal temperature for the Xbox slim? When it is turned on and after I play a game for one hour or two, the CPU and GPU shows around 65-75 degrees (Celsius). Is it fine?
Many thanks for your help (and 5-stars for the best answer, of course! :) )
2 AnswersXbox9 years agoTerjemahan lagu makassar 'anak kukang'?
Saya suka sekali lagu daerah Makassar (atau mungkin Bugis?) yang judulnya 'Anak Kukang'. Lagunya sedih tapi nadanya indah. Sayang saya nggak tau artinya. (Yang saya tau anak kukang = anak yatim). Syairnya gini nih:
Kukanga kunipela
kunibuang ri tamparang
kuniayukang rijene
nareppung tau maraeng
(reff) Caddi caddi
dudu inja
nanapelakka anrongku
mantang mama kale kale
tugguru jene matangku

sare tea takucini
empo tena mateneku
Eaule....

ikukang kodong
sare tea takucini
empo tena mateneku
Sare tea takucini
empo tena mateneku....
Mungkin ada yang bisa bahasa Makassar (atau Bugis) yang bisa bantu? 10 poin langsung! Makasih banget..
2 AnswersBahasa1 decade agoCan anyone give me English translation of Alisha Chinai's song 'Made in india'?
I love a song from Indian singer Alisha Chinai, it's called 'Made in India'. Unfortunately I don't speak Hindi, so I don't understand the lyrics. Here it is:
Dekhi hai saari duniya, Japan se leke Russia
Australia se leke America
Dekha hai pyaar ka sapna, dil chaahe koi apna
Mil jaaye gar ek saathiya, ek desiya
Made in India, made in India
Ek dil chaahiye that's made in India
O ho ho ho made in India, ek pyaara soniya
Ek dil chaahiye that's made in India
Tan gora ho ya kaala, par ho sachcha dilwaala
Chaandi nahin, sona nahin, koi heera
Dil jiska hindustani, nahin koi englistani
Raat aur din mujhe pyaar koi karne waala
Made in India, made in India
Ek dil chaahiye that's made in India
O ho ho ho made in India, ek pyaara soniya
Ek dil chaahiye that's made in India
Kaisi hai yaar ameeri, kaisi dildaar gareebi
Achchha hai kya, kya hai bura, mujhko pata
Can anyone please kindly translate the lyrics into English? I couldn't even manage to find one in internet, so I ask it here. Many thanks before, and I would give 5 stars for it.
3 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoDo Koreans usually understand Chinese signs?
I have a Japanese friend who once went to Beijing for vacations. I asked her, "Since Japanese and Chinese share the same characters, surely you didn't have problems understanding Chinese Mandarin signs while you were in China, did you?"
She replied, "Despite a lot of loaned Chinese characters, Japanese have built its own kanji so Japanese and Chinese kanjis are not exactly the same. I don't speak Mandarin Chinese, but generally, commonly-used Chinese characters are not so different than in Japanese. So yes, basically I could understand most Chinese signposts and directions while I were in Beijing though sometimes I had to ask my Chinese friend so that I would not misunderstand them."
I personally think, the same condition applies when a Chinese visits Japan. But how about Korean? Although Korean now utilises its own alphabet, I read in some literatures (including Wikipedia) that Korean once used Chinese characters as well, and in public schools today learning Chinese characters is still a mandatory subject. So I presume, Koreans have proper knowledge of Chinese characters though no longer commonly used in daily life. So, is Korean is indifferent from Japanese? Do Koreans also have no problems understanding Chinese signposts in China even though they don't speak Chinese themselves?
This is an interesting matter for me, so I wonder if anyone (particularly Koreans) would like to explain me further regarding this? Am I right? Thank you very much for all the serious answers
6 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoHow come most Xbox 360 games look better than PS3 versions? Is blu ray technology on video games a waste?
As we all know, both PS3 and Xbox360 were designed to produce games with the best graphics. Both systems are said to have high-end specs (3.2 GHz processor and stuff), though PS3 is said to be slightly better in paper. And as for media storage, PS3 uses blu ray disc and 360 uses dual-layer DVD. As we also know, blu ray storage capacity is 5 times bigger than DVD (50 GB vs 10 GB). So, a game written for PS3 should have more and more space for improvements, could be richer graphics, extra content, more subjects, etc. So theoretically, if a game is released on both PS3 and 360, then the PS3 version should look better than the 360 one. Or at least, if both version look identical, the PS3 version should have richer content, since BD technology is not solely about larger space…Besides, 40 GB of space discrepancy is just too large to ignore.
But the fact? I read in many gaming sites which ran graphics comparisons between PS3 and 360 versions of the same games, and the results are often quite surprising: most games look better on 360 than PS3. Call of Duty MW2, Fallout 3, Batman Arkham Asylum, to name a few... Oddly also, the 360 version of many games seem to have more content than their PS3 counterparts. Very few games put in favor of PS3, I couldn’t even remember such games.
How come this could happen? Are game developers being too lazy to push the BD capacity to its very edge? 360 seemed to have slight advantage due to its earlier launch, so developers might have more time to learn it. But it’s been 4 years after initial PS3 launch…does the excuse remain the same? Remember a while ago, when Gamecube version of certain games were often toned down or simplified compared to their PS2/Xbox versions, because GC proprietary discs simply couldn’t match the capacity of PS2/Xbox DVD? For me, it’s just too unjustifiable for a 10 GB game too look and fare better than a 50 GB game. Otherwise, we might as well accuse that PS3 blu ray discs are never contained more than 20 percent of its full capacity by third party developers (hence we don’t talk PS3-only games).
Crysis 2 will be out for both consoles besides PC, and it is said to have ‘the most amazing graphic we’ve ever seen’, means the required space could be much bigger than any today’s game (GTA IV PC is the most demanding space so far I know, about 16 GB). Theoretically, blu ray disc will have no problems handling such advancement, while we doubt whether DVD capacity is enough, if Microsoft is still being stubborn using DVD media. But we have yet to see again, will MS magic potion work again? Will the 360’s Crysis 2 also look and fare better than the PS3 one? Hell, if that happens again, then blu-ray disc as the future media storage is questionable. If the aging DVD could do better than blu-ray, then we don’t need blu-ray. Otherwise Sony does major breakthroughs to reverse the situation, we can therefore say blu-ray technology on computer is a waste.
What do you guys think? I will give away 5 stars for the best opinion
4 AnswersOther - Games & Gear1 decade agoIs it possible that the world climate will be reversed in the future?
I am wondering if someday in the future, due to climate change, world climates will be reversed, i.e snow only drops around the equator (which is currently tropical areas) and vice verse, other parts of the world become tropical areas (there will be no longer snow in there). For example, Southeast Asia has four seasons and Russia becomes a tropical country. Is such theory or hypothesis exist (scientifically) ? Please help, I'm dying to find out...
