  • Help with guy problems...?

First off, this is kind of long but I would appreciate as much advice as I can get.

It seems as if every guy I like, after they've told me they like me, turn out to be complete jerks and back off. My first major crush led me one for almost half a year before he told me to "get lost" (I wasn't doing anything either, we were friends so we'd hang out with other people and what not and one day he came up to me and told me that). The second guy I liked, we talked for a while, basically everyday and from morning till like midnight. He told me that he liked me and then something happened with my friends (they told him to back off because they didn't like him, and that made me mad, but that's a different story) and so he did. But it turns out that he was a jerk, and drank a lot and hung out with the wrong crowd and told one of his friends who told one of my friends that he just wanted to get some and what not. So that didn't work out. Then I liked this one guy that I've known forever but he turned out to be a creeper and didn't talk at all and that was just confusing; I didn't really like him. Then I had a crush with this guy that I work with during the summers and we sort of had something (met up at a fair and went to homecoming together) but he was an *** who had a girlfriend when he went to the dance with me but didn't tell me because he just wanted to mess with me! The thing that really irritated me about that was his friends (who I go to school with) still joke about that with me and they are jerks too.

So I have really bad luck with guys. Now I sort of like this one guy who is actually really sweet and nice and caring and not a jerk. We've been friends since Freshman year of high school and now as seniors we have bunch of classes together and what not. We hang out at lunches with our other friends (we hang out with the same people). It seemed like he would flirt with me, but now it seems like he's flirting with my one friend. She likes someone else but she still thinks he likes me. Everyone knows that I like him (I even think that he might know). But my close friends don't really think that we'd be good together. They like him but not "enough" (they said that). He's a big gamer (which I think is cool) and so they think that it would be awkward. I don't know anymore. I'm lacking in judgment.

So I guess that I have two questions. Why do I have bad luck with guys/what can I do about it? And, what should I do about this guy that I like now?

  • Good pick-up line for my character to use?

Okay so I'm writing this romance novel about two teens at a party (senior year in high school). The guy, Tom, just moved to NY from Tennessee (good southern boy) and his cousin is introducing him to his friends at a party before school. They tell him to go use this pick-up line on the girl, Claire, and they end up falling in love, etc...

The thing is I have no clue which pick-up line to use. Any suggestions?

    - Please keep it clean

    - The cheesier the better

    - Something kind of cute that she can laugh at but find charming/etc...

    Thanks!

  • Good character names?

I need a little help picking out names for my characters, please. I always have trouble with this. First and Last names would be great (but just first names works okay too)!

    Girl:

17, senior in high school. A little shy but mostly outgoing. She is studious and single. She is brunette and tallish (like 5' 9" maybe) and doesn't get into trouble.

    Guy:

18, senior as well. Just moved into town from Tennessee so he has a southern accent. He's athletic and smart. He has black hair and is tall (6' 2") and doesn't get into trouble as well. He and the girl meet and it's almost like love at first sight and they end up getting together.

    Thanks so much!

  • What should I do...does he like me?

So I really like this guy but I'm not sure how he feels about me. Here are some things that he's done recently:

    - In Biology/Calc/Lit we are always talking and he always make a point to say hi to me and start a conversation

    - Yesterday in our Literature class I sit to the left of him and behind a couple of rows. We don't have a seating chart so it doesn't matter. There is a couch in the room and my friend wanted me to sit with her and I'm like no thahks. He said then move up a row and we could talk :) so I did and then my friend was like hey nice move there (to him), and then, to me, now he has someone to flirt with. He said whoa, inappropriate (but I think it was kind of true), but idk

    - He comments on what I'm wearing saying that I look cute. I wore two different sweater dresses last week and he said that he kept track and that he noticed and thought I looked really good.

    - On Friday in Calc we were all working problems on the white boards and I was standing by him and talking to my friend. She said that I could have wore my shirt/sweater as a dress with leggings and I said that I would have but it's too short and my butt would have been hanging out and he leaned over and said, I wouldn't have complained

    - He is always making me smile and laugh

    - In Biology he was telling me these pick up lines, "How much does a polar bear weigh? Enough to break the ice." "Did it hurt? When you feel from Heaven." And so on.

    - During lunch we both sat in the Biology room to study for out test next hour and he was talking with me and sat by me and we were quizzing each other and then he took my keys and wore them around his neck (on a lanyard) for the rest of the day and wouldn't give them back until I gave him a reason that I needed them (I told him that I needed them to drive home with and he said, oh okay)

    - I really like him and we're both Seniors

What do you think though? Could he possibly like me? What should I do if he does like me? I like him but I'm not sure what to do? And if you think I should possibly flirt back (if he likes me) what should I do to do that? I really really like him and am totally clueless on what to do! Please help!

  • How do you forget someone and move on?

How do you forget about someone that you loved but they cheated on you and broke your heart? How do you move on, despite the fact that you still have feelings for them despite all that they've put you through?

  • How to explain break-up to family?

My boyfriend broke up with me recently and Thanksgiving is coming up. He was going to join us for dinner but that obviously isn't going to happen now. My parents know that we've split but the rest of the family doesn't. I'm not really in the mood to explain it to them all, because believe me, they will ask question upon question (my family has no boundaries). I don't want to get emotional in front of them (I'm working on that), so how do I say that I don't want to talk about it? They won't let me just leave it at that, they'll want details. I don't want to have to explain what happened, because frankly I'm not to clear on it myself. What should I do?

  • We've broken up, don't know how to face him at school...?

So I asked a question similar to this yesterday, but here's the thing, I've tried ignoring him and being nice and acting like nothing happened but my heart is breaking! My boyfriend broke up with me Saturday and I have every single class together with him today. I have to go back after lunch and go to two more classes with him where we sit by each other. I came home during my off hour (we used to hang out together but today he left and I did too) and I've been crying and this is really hard! I still have feelings for him and there is this pit in the bottom of my stomach every time I see him. This was a shock to all of out friends that we aren't together anymore. He looks as depressed as me.

What do I do? How can I make it through the rest of the day?

  • He saw on Facebook that me and my boyfriend are no longer together, and now he's...?

Recently me and my boyfriend broke up (it happened yesterday). Well my ex-bf changed his facebook status to single so I did too. Well a guy that I liked a while ago (last year during Junior year) saw that. We almost started going out but he backed out and said that he didn't like me anymore and what not because his friends said something to him (apparently he still liked me). I moved on and then me and my ex-bf started to go out. Well now he's talking to me again and saying that he still has feelings for me and if I need anything to let him know, and what not. He seems sweet and genuine but the thing is I know him, and he isn't like that. He is a total player (learned that after I liked him) and he is constantly getting into some sort of trouble. We are complete opposites (I am the "good girl" who focuses on school and he's the "bad boy" that blows school off). I know that he's talking to me again because he knows that I'm single again. He even asked me out while texting me tonight. How do I tell him that I'm not interested and would like some space (me and my boyfriend just broke up!) while still being nice about it?

  • Me and my boyfriend broke up this weekend, and I have to go to classes with him tomorrow...?

My boyfriend broke up with me Saturday and I'm really hurt about it. He isn't talking to me or explaining anything. But anyways. I have every single class with him tomorrow (4 classes) including Biology where we are lab partners and we are doing a lab tomorrow. What do I do? If I see him then I'm going to want to talk to him but I know he doesn't want to talk to me right now. I feel like I'm going to break down crying in the middle of class. What should I do?

  • He won't explain and isn't talking to me now. What do I do?

My previous question relates to this one as well. Here is the link (but you don't have to read it):

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;%E2%80%A6

So I called my ex-boyfriend and we got together for a little bit today to talk. We broke up yesterday. I am crushed because I love him so much and he told me that he loved me too, and then he broke up with me. Today he could only talk for a little bit, but I wanted some answers. He was very hesitant about getting together, saying that we broke up "for the best."

When he met me today, he seemed just as down as I was, and it looked like he had been crying too. We sat in silence for a little while before I spoke. I asked him why he broke up with me because everything was going so well. He didn't say anything at first. After a little bit he told me basically what he had said last night. He said that this would be for the best and that he knows I'm mad and sad right now, but I'll see that it was the better decision in time. He told me to listen to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri (not because it's in Twilight, but that's besides the point).

I went home and listened to it and started bawling my eyes out! I'm so depressed right now! I miss him already and I don't know if I'm going to be able to hold it together at school Monday when I see him in class. I love him so much and just want to be with him and figure this out together but I also want to respect his wishes and what he wants. I don't want to move on because I have no clue what all of this means; he won't explain any of it. And it's not that he likes someone else, he isn't like that. What am I supposed to do? How do I take all of this?

  • Boyfriend just broke up with me, what do I do?

Me and my boyfriend, ex-boyfriend now I guess, had been going out since June. I know that's not a long time but it was a great several months! He came over and met my parents, he was my first kiss and my first boyfriend. We are both seniors and have a lot of classes together. We were great together and we told each other that we loved each other. We are interested in the same things and got along really well. We only had one serious fight but made up not even a day after. He stood up for me after the guy I used to like was being a jerk at the dance. I'm in love with him! He said that he was in love with me too.

Tonight we went out to the movies and then drove to a hill just outside of town and sat in his car listening to music. It was amazing! He told me that he loved me and always would. He dropped me off at home but we sat and talked for a little bit longer. Then he told me that things were going well. He said that they might be going too well and that he was breaking up with me. He said "You may not see it now, but it's for the best. You'll come to realize that in time." What the heck does that mean? I'm sitting in my room sobbing! Why did this happen? What is his reasoning behind it? What am I supposed to understand when everything was going great?!

  • If the guy you used to have a crush on did this...?

...started grinding on you at a dance despite the fact he knows you have a boyfriend?

My school had it's 2nd quarter dance (we have one each quarter) tonight. Me and my boyfriend are seniors so we went since this is our last year. We were having a great time (we weren't grinding and we didn't want to) and just dancing with friends and enjoying the dance.

Well, the guy who I used to like was there with all of his friends. He is a Junior. I'm totally over him and have been for some time. He and his friends are total jerks! He is a player and drinks and does drugs sometimes. He isn't a great guy and treats girls poorly. Well he knew that I liked him a while back, and we "almost went out" but I'm glad we didn't now. My boyfriend went off with some of his guy friends to get some air in the court yard. So it was just me and my girl friends. The guy I used to like comes up to me and starts talking to me and what not. I say hi and then try to ignore him. He starts walking up and then turns back around and starts grinding on me! His friends are by him saying "yeah boy, get some." and what not. I was totally p*ssed! I tried to pull away but he just held onto me tighter and I told him to stop but he wouldn't!

Well my boyfriend comes back in and is able to get him to stop. My boyfriend and him almost got into a fight but then I took my boyfriend outside to calm down. We ended up leaving. I'm just worried that he might do something to him at school. I don't want my boyfriend to get in trouble! He isn't mad at me at all and was actually really sweet and protective about the whole thing.

What do I do though? How do I keep something like this from happening again?

  • Guys: favorite place to go on a date?

My boyfriend wants me to pick where we go out on Saturday. I have an idea or two but I'm not sure what he'd like to do better. We've been going out for several months now. We're both 17. Where would be a good place to go that is somewhat original? (Please don't say clubs, parties, etc...there isn't anything like that in our town and we aren't into that kind of stuff) Thanks!
