  • Baby hasn't turned her head at both dr visits when he snaps his fingers by her ear ... something wrong?

At my daughter, Oriana's 2 month dr visit, the dr snapped his fingers by both her ears and she did not respond in ANY way. He didn't say or suggest that anything was wrong, Though, he did seem mildly (but visibly) concerned that she wouldn't follow his tie when he moved it across her face. She was very focused on the dr's eyes. Now at her 4 month visit, the dr wasn't checking to see if she would react, but rather ... wanted Oriana to turn her head so that the dr could check her ear, and again, Oriana did NOT react to the snapping of the dr's fingers. When I walk in a room, and Oriana does not see, but I speak ... she turns and looks for me. If I'm behind her, and I call her name, she turns her head and looks around to look for me ... but does not react to certain sounds ... she does startle at times; for example ... when I cough, when someone suddenly yells, a sudden loud noise ... yet at times ... she won't even reac to the door bell which is setup in my apartment like a fire

  • Baby's sweat smells like rotten eggs - why?

My daughter is 4 months old and just got her second round of shots yesterday. Today when she woke up, her sweat smelled like rotten eggs. Could this be an allergic reaction of sorts to the shots?

  • Could certain movie images affect a 4 month old?

I have gone to my friend's house and seen that she puts her daughter of 4 months propped on a pillow in front of the TV. On the TV she usually has dramas and scary movies with images of blood and killing, or things that would be in a typical drama or scary movie. I don't believe she's doing it out of bad intentions. I think it's just that she'd rather watch those movies, and finds some peace in that the baby is entertained and quiet while watching anything, so she prefers movies that SHE likes. I would think that those images might create certain pathways in the baby's brain that could be unhealthy, but I'm not sure. I don't want to question her "parenting" because I don't really know. Do such images affect a baby of 4 months or are they meaningless at this point? For all I know, she can only see a blur of movements and colors from that distance.
