  • Can I put spikestrips in my driveway?

I live on a fairly busy wooded rural road and people are constantly using my driveway to turn around in. I understand why they do it, my driveway opening is very wide, but it still doesn't make it acceptable behavior, especially when this is happening multiple times a day. The driveway is far to wide for a gate, I don't want to permanently impede my own access by putting up a fence, boulders, etc etc. Can I put a spikestrip out? If I clearly post a sign stating something to the effect of "Private Driveway. Use at your own risk." or whatnot I would imagine that would take any liability off of me when you end up with four flat tires. I shouldn't have to worry about random vehicles flying around the edge of my driveway when I need to back out, the dogs, or god forbid the kids are out near the road. What do you all think? Any other suggestions? I'm all ears at this point.

  • What is the title?! Childrens series about farm animals that solved mysteries (Mom read in the 70s)?

I'm looking for a series of childrens books that my mother read in the early-mid 70s. I'm not sure if they were printed at that time or if they are older. All I know is that they were about a group of farm animals that solved mysteries. She mentioned that she loved reading them as a kid and how much my younger sisters would love them. I want to track the series down and get them for her but unfortunately I have very little to go on and my google search didn't turn up anything. Anyone out there have any idea what the series is I am talking about? Lots of great feedback for anyone with the answer!!! Thank you in advance.

  • Need brown bag lunch ideas for my truck driver husband?

My husband is a truck driver and I need more ideas for lunches to pack him. They must be frugal, preferably healthy, and they must be able to be eaten easily as is. Sandwiches, bags of chips or crackers, etc is getting old. He drives haz-mat, which means no leaving the truck unattended, so he can’t just go into a fast food joint or hop into one of the truck stop restaurants or stores (which would also blow the frugal part). He’s also on very tight schedules and pulling over for half-an-hour to take a breather for lunch and eat things that require use of utensils also isn’t happening. Obviously no fridge or microwave either. He’s on the road 14 hours or so a day, but generally is home every night so I don’t need to worry about packing weeks worth of items. Oh, and if I pack him fruit or veggies they regularly come home with him at the end of the day, so any suggestions on how to jazz that type of stuff up would also be suggested. Thanks in advance!

  • Turtle stepped on by horse in pasture, broken shell....?

I was out in the pasture and something got my horse going and had him come racing to the gate. I went to go see what spooked him and there was a fairly good size painted turtle (I think) that it looks like my horse stepped on. The shell is broken and depressed inwards on the center of it's back. There is a very clear crack, not just a dent or small depression. I picked it up and wiped the dirt away and it was more reddish than what's on the ground, so I believe it's bleeding. I know nothing about turtles and am not sure if it will heal on it's own, survive, if there's anything I can do to reduce the possibility it gets infected and then just stick him back out there. I'm not bringing a turtle to the vets and will help it if I can, I just don't know what may help and what won't. I currently have it contained, and it's pretty active on wanting to get out so I don't know if he's good to just stick back out or if it could still be badly injured.

  • 93.7 Mike fm Manny steroid song?

On 93.7 mike fm there is a parody of Paul Simon's "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" about Manny's steroid use and suspension. The only line I can remember of it is ...now there's drugs in your blood, Bud..... anyway, I thought it was pretty great and can't find the song online anywhere. If anyone can find it that would be awesome!!

  • How do I pull a still of a .mov movie?

I have a few movies from one of my recent horse shows, there in .mov format and I'd like to take I few stills off of them so I can have some photos. My horse was awesome, but with only the slightly far away movies of our rounds, I wanted to pull some stills off it that I could photoshop, enlarge, whatever....but I have no idea how to go about doing that. I have a dell with windows xp and the software that comes standard on it, but nothing beyond that. Can I use a free software that I may already have on my computer, or am I going to need to purchase something (would rather not have to do that), any help would be awesome...I'm a bit technologically challenged lol. Thanks!

  • Can anyone tell me how much a quart of pelleted grain weighs?

I feed trotter (50 lb bag), my gelding gets a total of 6 qts of grain a day. I don't know the weight of a quart of it (don't have a little scale) and I'm trying to determine how long it takes him alone (2 of my other horses get trotter also) to go through a bag so I can determine the cost per feeding of what he's getting (info I need for a potential lease of him). Thanks guys!
