  • Does anyone think the debt is going to go down?

I don't care who gets in office the debt has reached a point where no one who is honest can see it going anywhere. If the republicans get in the white house they will cut taxes. that is what they do this will lower revenue and increase debt. If the democrats get in office they will seek new entitlements which will increase debt either way the debt is going up.

  • Can someone explain to me how trickle down economics work.?

I do not see how giving a tax break to the top one percent equals job growth.

  • Do you think Romney could have made a worse choice of VP?

Not to argue whether it is true or not but the fact that Ryan is on record as being anti senor and senors out vote everyone else it seem stupid.

  • Does anyone think that the gun ban was the problem in Colorado?

Look the guy entered a theater in full body armor threw a couple of gas canisters. even a fully trained law enforcement officer that was armed would have found this situation a nightmare to deal with. Look at the North Hollywood shoot out cops with hand guns were useless against a couple of men wearing body armor. In a dark crowed theater with people panicking the odds would have been a couple more people hit by the hero not him being stopped.

  • Does anyone think that the wealthy are wealthy thru their hard work?

Do you really think that someone like Romney started out in the stockroom and thru his hard work and perseverance climbed the latter and ran the company? I am so tired of hearing they deserve it they worked hard for the money. Most of the wealthy in this country come from wealthy families. If said person has ever had a job their first job was senior VP or some such just so they could learn the ropes. There real job is just being rich so let’s not cry too many tears for the rich.

  • does anyone think that corperations will treat the worker fairly.?

What I mean is they ship jobs to countries that pay and treat the workers like slaves. Do you not see that they would do that here if they could? The only thing stopping them is the government and the unions. Big corporations are in the process of buying government and using it to destroy unions. At this pace in 50 years this countries will be back where it was in the beginning of the last century.

  • As a liberal supporter of Obama should i be scared?

I am afraid that even though i support gay marriage Obama coming out for it now will all but kill his chances. There are a lot of people that may not have come out to vote for Romney that will show up now just because of Obama saying he supports gay marriage. I am talking about the far right who did not like Romney because of religious difference am i right to be afraid?

  • Do conservatives not realize that marriage under the law is a contract?

There is a lot of religious posturing about it being a sacrament with god but the truth is under the law it is just a contract between two people. This contract give certain financial, inheritance and yes social rights.

  • Do conservatives even know that social security brings in more money than it spends?

The latest numbers do not predict a problem with ssi funding for the next 20 years and even then their are simple fixes like raising the ceiling on income for ssi. this is another boggie man that the right keeps marching out year after year.

  • Does anyone here know the primary role of corporations in society?

People do not seem to know that the primary purpose of corporations is the distribution of goods and services. For example, food is harvested then sold all done by corporations. One of the jobs they do is provide the money in the form of jobs that allows the system to work. Then why is it we are always worshiping the idea that money moves to the top and stays there. This is an opinion but I think that more money paid to the workers would help the society more than more money paid to the top executives or the stock holders. As this is an opinion I will not mind if people give me alternate points of view.

  • The right and the time machine?

How many of you would agree with me that the right wants to take the United States back in time? I used to think they wanted to take us back to the 1950's. You know the one that only existed on reruns of leave it to beaver. Now i am starting to think they want to go back to the 1850's. Where the white man who had money could do no wrong. Black people where slaves and women had no control of anything and were in reality if not fact property. tell me what era you think the right wants to model their version of the present on.

  • The right and business?

Why is that people on the right think that business would be better if they had no rules to operate under. If you look at countries that have less regulation than we have all of these place are not places that i would want to live or work. Without government intervention we would still have child labor and unsafe work places. I do not think for a second that we would not head back in that direction if business had there way.

  • Birth controll debate?

Do you think the right would be so up in arms about this issue if men were the ones to get pregnant. Men don't seem to care that most health insurance covers erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation. Heck most plans would cover a vasectomy. They don't care not a moral issue but my God women having the right to not get pregnant that is a moral issue?

  • taxes and outsourcing of jobs?

Does anyone really think that the reason companies outsource jobs is taxes? I hear it all the time it's environmental laws, taxes and safety laws. The truth is we can not compete with countries that have very low standards of living and pay nothing.

  • Romney donation to his church was it charity?

Does anyone else find it funny that they list the four million he gave the Mormon church as charity. I understand that the Mormon church does do some good works but the truth is Romney did not have a choice when making these donations. the Mormon church has very st rick rules on tithing and has accountants that keep track. If a Mormon does not pay his ten percent then they are no longer in good standing. You may wonder how big a threat this is if a Mormon is not in good standing they can not enter the temple. So lets say one of his children who is in good standing got married in the temple if he was not he could not attend. So my question is should his donation be thought of in the same light as a donation he did not have to make?
