  • tipping a piercer who is a close friend ?

this question is preferably for professional piercers/tattoo artists: i am very into body modification and always leave a big tip for the piercer/tattoo artist if i am happy with the work, however as of lately, the line has been a bit blurred for me.

my piercer is someone who has been a good friend of mine for at least two years now, and he lately has been doing piercings for me at-cost (about 10 bucks) but the tipping situation gets a little hazy. i feel that i should tip the artist if i'm getting such a great deal, but its awkward because we're close friends. i'm not sure where to draw the line.. any suggestions for the situation?

for example, i'll be getting two microdermal implants in a few weeks, and as my piercers are still learning/practicing, are doing these at-cost. i simply ordered the jewelry at the shop (15 dollars each) and have to pay $5 set-up... how much should i tip?

    thanks!

  • about bright red hair dye...?

i color my hair alot, and i know that red fades super fast and i re-color it almost every time i wash my hair... however, i'm going to warped tour on monday, and will be outside all day and it is supposed to rain some, so i was wondering if anyone knew of a really good red hair dye [as in like, fire engine red] that won't bleed?? most red dyes run in the rain because they are only semi-permanent and i'd rather not have to deal with that. thank you!

  • upper vs. lower bobbin?

i just got my first sewing machine..a brother ls-2125.

it was a gift from a friend who had had it for a year or so and never used it and now im beginning to teach myself how to use it to alter clothing and such.. nothing too fancy.

ive spent a while looking at the manual, learning the parts of the machine and how to thread it, change the needles, etc. however i cannot figure out a lot about the bobbins.

whats the difference between upper/lower bobbins? do i need to use both? if not, which should i use for what? i get the jist of how to thread it.. just need to know what to do with it and which to use?

any help would be greatly appreciated as im extremely new to this! thank you.

  • Does anyone else agree that...?

the "music" section of this should be separated according to genres?

i think it would be much easier to find people with your interests..
