  • Statute of limitations for traffic violation question?

I was arrested for a D.W.I, careless operation, and leaving a (single vehicle) accident (truck was in ditch) while inside my room in my home 2 hours after said incident took place. Well, I never recieved a paer ticket to sign for the 2 traffic violations I was arrested for nor was I issued a temporary license until the DMV has heard my case on whether or not the state (Louisiana) have enough evidence for a conviction. The only record of the incident is where I was booked into the jail for the charges. Do they have to actually write a physical ticket with a court date on it? If their is a statute of limitations to issue a ticket, how long is it?

  • How can I repair my credit with the least amount of effort?

TransUnion is 586 and Equifax is 562

My total 'debt' is $2,778 and $1,664 of that is a 'doubled' Sprint bill. In other words, it is in 'collections' under 2 different companies. The rest of my debt is medical bills. What do you feel would be the path of least resistance for my credit score to improve? I've already done 2 Credit Builder loans through my credit union and it hasn't helped my score at all and they still will not give me a loan to buy a decent used vehicle even though I've been in my current for 3 years and at my current employer for over 4 years.

  • Question about stock investments?

I plan on being with my current employer for another 3 years. My current investment plan for my 401K has lost $2,000 in the past 3 months and I m wanting to know what a SMART plan would be to get my $2,000 back plus hopefully make a little more. If it makes a difference, I put in $3,000 a year and my company matches that.

  • Food for backpack camping?

I'm going to go on an adventure in our national forest (Kisatchie in Louisiana) by a lake and do some dispersed camping. I'm only bringing my basic survival gear (knife, tarp, fire starter/tinder, first aid kit, water filtration, basic fishing gear, and food for 3 days). I've got some ideas on food but I would like to know what some of you bring for food.

  • How can I prove discrimination at work?

We work in teams of two and there are usually 3 teams. We have been one man short for about a month now and except for the VERY rare help I get from someone I am threatened with write ups to the point of termination if I can't pull the load of two people. Everyone else that works on my crew is capable to do the work (with help of course) but I'm the only one made to do so...How can I collect evidence of this? We're not allowed to have phones on the floor for safety reasons so I can't take pictures.

  • How to make dealership fix car and give us loaner?

2007 Saturn Ion: Ignition switch, lock cylinder, and steering system need replaced. We received the recall and told that we're entitled to a loaner car (if required). Tried with dealerships (even called GM to help us) and we're still trying to figure out how to get a dealership do the repairs and give us a loaner. How can we MAKE them do it since they very obviously don't care about potential customers and even GM is having difficulty trying to get them do the repairs.

  • How can I get the safety recall done on my car?

2007 Saturn Ion. It has a recall for the ignition switch, lock cylinder, and steering assist. Tried one place for almost for over 6 months but could never get them to even call back. Finally called GM headquarters to tell them about it and they gave us a case number and a different dealership to try. They actually called us back with an appointment saying they would have the parts. Dropped the car off on the 27th and asked about it Wednesday. They told us it wasn't in the system and that someone would call us back. Friday we decided to go back up there and they told us the guy was on vacation (almost 2 weeks now since they've had the parts). Called GM back and they talked with the dealership and told us that their general manager would be giving us a call back after lunch. By closing time we went back up there and they told us they didn't have the parts...Asked them when they could give us the car back and they simply walked out the office, gave us our keys and told us it was parked by the truck we drove...We NEED it fixed so badly. It's unsafe because of the air bags and I'm scared the steering will lock up like it did to a friend of mine. NEED HELP!

  • How long car dealership keep car?

    2007 Saturn Ion

Car was recalled for ignition switch, lock cylinder, and electric assist steering. It's our only car and we can only borrow vehicles for work for so long. Tried getting a loaner and when I talked to GM headquarters, they only have to give one while we're waiting for parts for it. Since they already have the parts they don't have to let us use one. This is really putting us in a bind and I need to what to do to make them work on it. It's been 2 weeks since we brought it in and they won't call us back. If it helps, we live in Louisiana and we DO have a case number on the car.

  • What to do if dealership won't return car?

My car has a safety recall and they've had it for almost two weeks now. After the first week, I tried calling them everyday for an update. They refused to call back so I went there and asked them about it in person. Three different people there said they have no information on it. Now I want to go pick it up and I know they're going to try and keep it so I need to know what I have to say so I can MAKE them give it back.

  • Can my landlord change rent due date?

We started renting in March of 2013 and signed a 2 year lease. The lease has since run out and we have been renting on the trailer on a month to month basis. Now, 5 months later he wants to change the due date of rent (that I do not agree upon. We JUST paid it on the 21st and now he wants to change it to the 1st. That simply is in no way, shape, or form possible for us. We live in Louisiana if it makes a difference. Is there anywhere we can go to find out the actual laws for this in our Parish? Thanks for any/all information.

  • I have been accused of 'Doctor Shopping', PLEASE HELP!?

Starting in October, I was having SEVERE back pain. After 2 weeks of not seeing anyone, I went to an urgent care for help. It was recommended I get an M.R.I and I received one showing a herniated disc at L5-S1 pinching root nerve. After THREE MONTHS my primary doctor finally saw me and prescribed 7.5 Norco 4x's daily. In the mean time, I had to have two wisdom teeth extracted (one of which had to be drilled out of my jaw bone!). I also had to have a cyst surgically removed from my right buttock. I told BOTH the dentist AND surgeon of my current pain medication. My dentist prescribed me 10mg Percocet and my surgeon (so I could have steroid injections to my spine) wrote me 5mg Norco. My doctor's office did a PMP report on me (because I asked to have my 7.5 prescription filled 5 days early because they WEREN'T working as prescribed and I asked if it would be okay if I take more and was not contacted back even after multiple efforts to do so). Regardless of all this, I was discharged for receiving multiple prescriptions from multiple doctors and after a referral for pain management from my neurosurgeon, the pain management specialist will not see me! So now I am stuck without ANY relief from pain and I am going to have to quit my job and HOPE that I can receive disability...Is there ANY way that I can combat this so that I can receive help without having to be a burden upon the tax payers?

  • Will I be refused pain management?

My former family discarded me because I accepted other narcotics (because I had surgeries). I have a herniated disc at L-5, S-1 causing compression of the root nerve. I also have a herniated sacroilliac joint on right side. I was being prescribed 7.5 Norco 4x's a day which wasn't working and I told my surgeons I was on them and they wrote me more anyways along with my antibiotics. I was then discharged by my doctor for this. My neurosurgeon recommended and referred me to a pain management specialist and I'm scared that I will be refused services because of my previous doctor. When I see my new doctor am I going to be able to explain this situation in a way to him so that I can get treatment? Or do I have to live the rest of my life in constant severe pain?

  • How much can I expect to spend to fix my boat motor?

1979 Mercury 50HP with coil packs. I'm having issues getting it started and it won't go in reverse. I'll part the boat out if it's going to cost too much. I'll just take it as one of these lessons that we learn in life. I've got $1,000 in the boat, motor, and trailer. Boat is a 73' Terry Bass

  • What s wrong with my boat motor?

1973 Terry Bass Boat with 1979 Mercury 500 Series 50 Horse. It takes FOREVER to warm up and you have to give it full throttle while choking the crap out of it to even get to warm up, or else it just dies over and over. After about a half mile on the water it will idle and run just fine. Before I purchased the boat I watched the man rebuild the carburetors and fuel pumps, put new plugs in it, and check the compression. Is this the way they always run or can I fix it? No, it doesn t have a distributor, it has coil packs.

  • Where can I find high peformance cylinder heads?

1988 S-10 Blazer I'm doing a project with an S-10 Blazer I picked up for $600. I'm going to rebuild the 4.3 V6 and put more power to it. I've found the rotating assembly I need but I cannot for the love of me find a performance camshaft or valvetrain for this engine. I've searched Jegs and Summit to no avail. Anyone know where I can look?

  • Any tips for camping?

I m not unfamiliar with camping as I ve been doing it since I was a child but we ve always avoided doing so when it was going to be a rainy week. I m needing to practice my B.O.B. skills and it s going to be a pretty rainy weekend so I figured I d give it a shot and if it gets TOO hectic I ll just head back to the truck and go home. LoL I m familiar with lighting a fire and how to keep it going during the rain but was wondering if anyone has some helpful tips/tricks you would like to share. Thanks in advance for your knowledge, wisdom, and/or expertise. :)

  • How to talk to my doctor?

It started with severe back pain for no apparent reason. I tried putting up with it for a couple of weeks and couldn't do it so I went to my doctor. They started me off on Tramadol, then 30mg of Codeine, then 7.5mg of hydrocodone. My symptoms got worse and I tried telling my doctor that they weren't working. I was then discharged from the company he works for because I went to E.R. to get different pain meds since he wouldn't help. I "violated company policy" by getting multiple prescriptions from multiple doctors. I am now seeking another doctor for pain management until I can have surgery. OBVIOUSLY telling them straight up that I need pain meds doesn't work because I've already asked one doctor and was denied. So how do I ask my next one?

  • How to settle debt?

Decided to do a credit check on Credit Karma and I can believe the fact that I have a couple of accounts in collection. Well, I'm wanting to fix that and settle all my debts so I can build me some good credit for my retirement.

With that said, how do I go about finding out exactly who I owe money to so that I can set up a payment plan with them? Is this something that my local banker can help me with?

  • Can I be denied employment?

I have a herniated disc which is causing my S-1 root nerve to be pinched. I'm experiencing chronic lower back/upper buttock pain. I'm in pain management and only take my medicine after work/before bed. I'm still able to perform daily tasks at work but by the time I get off of work, my pain is severe. Again, I'm able to function 100% at work because I don't have a choice. Is this something that I even have to mention to a potential employer since this generally isn't considered a disability or if I do 'Have' to mention it, will I be shut out completely from being able to apply with a new company? If it helps, I'm a skilled tradesman with over 10 years experience and again, I'm still able to complete ALL my scheduled tasks in more than a reasonable amount of time with my current employer. No, this isn't a job related injury. Thanks for any/all information.
