If I am lost and I am looking for Tokyo Tower, I see a stranger, can I go up to them and ask:

Would it be too impolite? Or would it be okay?

I know sometimes Japanese people think its a little stupid to have Kanji characters on a shirt or tattoo. So would they think its weird to have "絶対諦めるな" or "never give up" on a shirt?

I'm a little confused on the whole avatar thing. Every time the avatar dies, is his soul reincarnated as another person, or is it just the powers and abilities of the avatar?

In Avatar TLA, when Aang gets to Kyoshi island, one of the little girls there looked at the statue of Avatar Kyoshi and said "You were pretty."

And when Aang went to see that centipede guy in the spirit world, he said "You tried to slay me hundreds of years ago" or something.

But the Katakana writing says that it is pronounced "Mah-Gi-Cah". With a g sound like the word "go".
