**Warning: Long Post** Girl I'm crazy about is moving to California ?
*Asker's note: Sorry for the novel, but this is difficult to explain briefly*
I knew about this for some time, and I was already preparing for a difficult goodbye.
However, things have become a bit more complex than I anticipated.
She came home to visit this past weekend and said some things that caught me completely off guard.
She said that I'm the only guy she would stay here for. She also made a point to tell me how funny I am and how "I get her." But she apparently doesn't think I like her like that anymore. (We used to date a long time ago, and came close to getting back together/hooking up a number of times but it never happened. After a while we became just friends, but I still had strong feelings for her).
She's also currently dating someone, but she told me that he doesn't get her. I was hanging out with her and him (she wanted him to meet me) and when he left the room she mentioned how much she missed me and how "we need to talk". She even specifically pulled me away so she could be alone with me to talk a bit.
Then, the next day she brought up how good I look, how she can tell I've been working out, and that it's crazy seeing me all cut and in shape.
Now, I'm not going to claim to be an expert on girls, but I feel like something is up. She's always been a flirt and there's always been sexual tension between us, but something feels different this time.
I don't know if she realizes how much I still like her. And, I know I have to tell her before she leaves, because I won't be able to live with myself if I don't.
I just don't know when I should tell her. Should I wait till she's ready to leave and then tell her? Or, should I tell her sooner? Should I make a move?
I'm leaning towards telling her sooner, so that we could have some time to figure things out more. (She's not leaving until the 30th)
What do you guys think? I'm just real confused right now.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhat are some good talent builds for a lvl 70 Rogue in WoW?
Alright, so my Undead Rogue is getting close to hitting 70. I currently have him in a combat build which focused on heavy dps for soloing.
I want to change my spec when I hit 70 (or maybe a little sooner) to something that can allow me to pvp better, but will still work for solo questing (rep grinding eventually), instances, and raiding.
I haven't decided what direction I want to go yet, and I realized I'll probably have to come up with different specs for specific situations (raid spec, pvp spec, etc.) Unless there's a just a solid all around great spec you guys can think of?
So, to all the rogues out there, what are your suggestions? What's your favorite build for pvp, raid, dungeons, etc.?
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoI need ideas for a practice space for a band?
So, me and two other guys are trying to get a side band off the ground (me and the guitarist are in one band, and the drummer was in another band that just broke up)
We all live extremely close to one another (like walking distance close), which is awesome. However, no one's house is equiped or available for practice.
I've been lucky whereas the drummer of my other band has let us practice at his place consistently.
So, for all you other bandies out there, where do you practice? Any ideas or suggestions on what me and my friends could do?
3 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoDating Slump Blues?
The lonely-bug has been getting me down a lot lately. I've been sort of passively looking to date more (most people have suggested I don't "try" to meet girls because then I won't meet them...it's sort of worked in the past).
Lately, I've just been feeling rather disheartened and disillusioned about dating. It seems like every cute interesting girl is already taken (and usually by a guy that's a total d-bag). It's sapping my confidence a bit.
Also, I'm getting worried because I feel this is starting to effect my life in other ways. For example, I'm not getting as much joy out of things that I normally love.
Like, I'm in a band, and I normally love jamming and goofing off with my bandmates at practice, but lately I've had to force myself to go to practice. I know that stuff like this can be a sign of depression.
I want to move forward. Any advice? Should I try and date, or should I just wait out the blues and see if I go back to feeling good about myself?
5 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoHeart and Conscience not seeing eye to eye...?
I've had a thing for this girl for a long time now. We dated a tiny bit; it ended on a bad note but we reconciled and became even closer. Ever since we've had a bit of an odd relationship (we're very flirty and talk about hooking up...hasn't happened yet though)
We couldn't date because she lives far away, and in a few months, she's leaving for California and I may never see her again (or at least not for a long time).
I don't know if I can live with myself knowing I let her leave without taking some sort of action (nothing crazy, just like trying to kiss her or something).
The problem is, she's had a lot of problems with guys. She's made a lot of mistakes, and is afraid I'll become one of them. I don't want to force anything or make it seem like I'm just trying to get in her pants. I really care about this girl, but I'd still like some closure too.
I want something to happen before she leaves, but I don't want make her feel worse about herself. I dunno what to do...
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoHow to tell if a girl is checking you out or just looking at you?
So, lately whenever I go out, I seem to catch girls looking at me.
Lol, I'd like to think they're checking me out, but I don't know.
I'm a pretty good looking guy, and I've improved my physique quite a bit over the past few months.
I used to be extremely shy and have poor self-confidence. I've over come that all, though I'm still a bit shy around new people.
But, I never used to notice this stuff before, at least not on this scale.
I guess I'm just wondering if there's a way to tell if I'm reading into this too much, or if I'm actually picking up on something.
2 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoEffects pedals with keyboard and buying a new keyboard in general?
I've recently began playing keyboard for my band. However, the only keyboard I have at my disposal is a crappy old Casio.
It's serviceable for practice, but all the tones sound rather digitized. Also, I normally run the keyboard out of a PA system (which unfortunately has one working 15 inch Kustom cab), and it makes a buzzing noise when I turn up.
Now, we were goofing off with hooking effects pedals to this keyboard one day and they made it sound sooo much better. We hooked it to a digiverb pedal and it really improved the tone.
We're not really ready to play shows yet (don't have a lot of songs written), but I'm wondering if I can just get away with buying some pedals instead of buying a whole new set of keys.
I know I will have to upgrade eventually, but I have no idea what to buy and every decent keyboard is rather expensive.
Is this a good idea? Or, should I just buy a new keyboard? If so, any recommendations?
The band's style is post-rock if that helps.
2 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoWhat's a potential HPV carrier to do?
Ok, so from what I know, I might be a potentially carrier of HPV.
The good news is that it's not the kind that causes genital warts or any physical symptoms in men or women.
The bad news is that's really the only concrete thing I know. I tried talking to my ex about it and she didn't give me a definite answer. She alluded to having some form of HPV, but insured me that I had no risk of warts or any physical symptoms.
She had an abnormal pap smear and had to get a biopsy, then she had to do it all again because her gyno's a bit of a quack. However, I don't remember what the official verdict was on her diagnosis (our relationship fell apart around that point).
I'm talking to a new girl and there's a good chance sex is in the near future. I already warned her about all this and she suggested I talk to my ex.
My ex won't give me a straight answer, what should I do? Just assume that I might be carrying it? I don't want to scare every girl away...
3 AnswersSTDs1 decade agoWhat's a good talent build for a mage in WoW?
so yeah, frost? fire? or arcane?
I need a build that will work well for soloing, but can still work decent in a group.
Any suggestions?
I primarily solo, but group every once in a while for instances.
Plus, I know I'll have to respec once I hit the 60's and 70.
I just got my alt mage to 10. My main is a rogue and is the only other character I have (just started playing wow a few months ago).
I've checked a few sites but I'm having a tough time deciding on what build to take.
10 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoLooking for "different" metalcore and/or screamo bands....?
Yeah, sort of a strange request, I know...
But basically, I'm looking for metalcore and/or screamo bands that don't completely adhere to the traditional metalcore sound (i.e. Throwdown, As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, etc.)
I'm looking for bands that sound similar to:
Every Time I Die (their older stuff more specifically)
Grace Gale (old stuff, before they completely changed styles)
Duck Duck Goose
He is Legend (their songs "I am Hollywood" and "The Seduction" specifically)
Hopesfall (their old stuff, nothing after Satellite Years)
old Norma Jean
old Chariot
6 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoWhere do I find the "Thieves Tools" in WoW?
I just learned the Lock Picking skill with my Rogue, but it says I need "Thieves Tools" to lock pick.
I tried a bunch of vendors and nobody seems to carry them.
Do I have to complete a quest, or can I just buy them somewhere?
Where do I have to go?
7 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoFor all you musicians and band members out there, share some your most memorable show moments?
Ever play with a big name band? Have something crazy happen at one your shows? Win a Battle of the Bands? Or just some random moment or thing about performing that you love?
One of the biggest shows I ever played was at the Ottobar here in Baltimore with Me and Him Call it Us. It was our first time playing with a semi-big name within our genre.
Other great show moments for me and my band:
- Inciting mosh pits and dog piles in a row home basement
- Constantly catching people off guard with our "bait and switch" intro, and then hearing about the audience's reactions fro our friends
- Making really bad jokes on stage
- Almost getting my face broken by our bassist mid song
- Playing shows in a barn in 30 degree weather
- Having random people buy me drinks because they liked our set so much.
Just a few examples. Let's hear your stories and such
10 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoDo you have a favorite local band?
Show some local bands from your area some love. Post the ones you like best or think are the most talented.
You can post your own band if you want
Here's some from my neck of the woods: Baltimore, MD
Lilu Dallas - Mathcore, tech-grind, screamo, ambient.

Ruiner - Hardcore punk

Karmella's Game - Indie rock, pop

The band from my area that most of you probably know is All Time Low. I saw them play right before they got huge. I can't believe they're as big as they are now. My friend interviewed them for a college journalism project.
21 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoDoes learning an instrument help you sing better/sing in key?
I've heard this from a couple people and read it in a few places as well. It makes sense. Anybody have any first hand experience? Any suggestions on what instruments might help more than others?
I have a tiny bit of piano/keyboard background and I'm trying to get back into to it. Also, I'm trying to learn electric guitar.
4 AnswersSinging1 decade agoAdjusting vocals/singing to new style of music?
I've been lead vocals for my band for almost 4 years. For most of our time playing together, we've played metalcore and mathcore songs (we started off as metalcore and evolved into mathcore). Hence, my vocals consists almost entirely of screaming.
Recently, my band has been talking about forming a side project band that plays ambient, progressive rock (think Russian Circles, Explosions in the Sky, This Will Destroy You).
My problem is I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to fit vocals with the new style. They are parts where I can fit screaming in their new music, but those parts are scarce. I'm an ok singer, but I have a difficult time writing melodies (especially for music like this). Plus, my singing voice doesn't seem to fit well with this music.
Any suggestions on what I can do?
Some information about the music: songs are very layered with a lot of progression, usually to a climatic point (not standard verse chorus writing). Also, we play in Drop-D tuning.
