From 1972 to 1979, I studied in Treforest, Pontypridd, I lived in Porth,

I worked with Taff Fechan Water Board in Nelson. Then with Powys County Council Area Office in Brecon.

I still have friends in Tonypandy , Porth, Radyr, Merthyr and Brecon. I still remember addresses I used to stay in Treforest, Porth, and Llangrose, Brecon. As such, can I be considered half-Welsh ?

Black, white or mixed, Obama is just another American.

Being black and conscious about but not playing up the many issues specific to Black Americans is exactly his plus point. He has not been afraid to raise issues like invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan; Wall Street and Main Street, health care, education etc.

His outlook transcends those of the majorities of the American racists, white, black Asian and Latino.

Look at ourselves: MCA, UMNO, MIC, DAP, Garakan, PAS, PPP, SUPP, Kadilan, PBS, SNAP, SAPP, Perkesa etc etc: which ones of these are not preying on communal and racial sentiments. For as long as this is the case, the non Malays stand no chance to replace a Malay Prime Minister, Malays being the majority.

Obama has been pragmatic and run a successful campaign by consciously side-stepping the many real and African-American specific issues. Surely these issues are going to become DEMANDS considering the almost unanimous endorsement by the African-American voters.
