Hello I was just thinking about a traumatic event in a novel I cannot remember.

It's very vague in my head but its when this girl gets a new pet chick and it's her only friend but then her brother (?) gets a dog and he wanted to 'test' its aggressiveness on her pet chick. The chick ended up dying and that made the girl terribly upset.

I tried really hard to remember the past books I've read but I can't remember this one.

I have to cram for these midterms, and I am stumped on this math essay question that's going to be on the exam:

Determine whether the graph of y=ab^x, where a=0, and b=1, sometimes, always or never has an x-intercept. Explain your reasoning.

Well I have graphed the function and believe that it would be y=0(1)^x because a=0 and b=1. Since it is a horizontal line across the x-axis, would the answer be always has an x-intercept? Thanks for the help.

Sorry this is so long for one question, it's mainly all background info

So I am a female, and I started long-boarding a month ago. I got a Globe Dart strictly for cruising and transportation, lets say riding for a couple miles.

One day I was waiting for my friend to finish playing basketball with his other friends so I could car pool with him, and in came boys from my school with long boards. I was puzzled, because it looked like skate boards, but not with their pin-tail look. I was soooo tempted to ask to try it out, but I hate, hate, hate talking to packs of boys like that. It's just not me. I don't want that kind of attention but..

That was how i was inspired to get my own. I thought about it for quite a while, researched... Transportation would be faster, I might fuse some common interests with other kids, etc etc...

And so I got one. I practiced right when it delivered. I fell a total of two times! Not too shabby for my first steps on piece of wood with wheels. Now it's May --almost June and I have gone down a few baby hills. Wussy hills though. I'll admit i even get speed wobbles from them too. I think it's maybe third or fourth nature to me it seems like, because I feel like cruising is so easy now.

I learnt some tricks, like ghost-ride kick flip and...um

The problem is that I want to long-board to school because I miss the bus a lot when I'm not supposed to. When I wake up just to see the alarm clock read 7 am I panic, it's the worst. (i have to wake up at 6:30 for atleast 20 minutes.) And i have to work up guts to tell my mom im late because she has nightshifts and goes crazy without sleep after she comes home.

There fore i want to improvise a 'plan b' to ride to school with my baby (longboard). OK the real problem is is that I don't want anyone to see me longboarding for a matter of reasons.

1) I hate the amount of attention like how boarding is a male-dominant sport and they just stare, unless im with my dog who gets and loves the attention. I don't blame him, he's one sexy @ss mofo.

2) there are SOME girls, i mean like less than atleast 10 girls who board at my school. And im afraid they'll be like "Oh she thinks she's so cool" and crap, but truth is, I don't give a damn and I honestly, honestly, I am not 100% in longboarding just because it's cool, but it's a great way of transportation and the cleshay line coming in--, "to express my self "(i just love the wind in my hair, but not really because when you stop you get really hot and sweaty) I mean thats what express means in my dictionary.

etc...etc..etc..

I just don't want to be labeled as the poser, even though most of my friends know that im the girl who doesnt give a sh*t what anyone says about me, im so washed by the rules of..living, of how we live, a world of judgment. and other problems. So i hate being that girl. Im also not the dress to impress kind either. Whatever i have in my drawer, then there you go. You know? I used to hate flare jeans with my converse... but now i dont care. I just take whatever jeans i have.

So how would i gain confidence that i can walk through the doors and feel normal carrying a gym bag, violin case, and a longboard? (i dont carry all these things) without feeling so dumb and so poser like when im not trying to (im so frustrated) It's already 11:30 and i can already predict that im going to snooze in the morning, but ill stay up for answers. Please give me some advice, to get over what seems so dumb. I know some say just do it but its this one little thing. Even my best friends are like 'you are REAALLLLY going to skateboard from here to there?' because i can feel the tension of them thinking "oh shes a poser", but i really believe that longboarding can change my life. I have never dyed my hair before, and some day I want to lighten my hair color with the drugstore kits. I am Asian so you would expect me to have black hair, but i don't. I have this color but bit darker : http://goo.gl/UmExS and from afar i guess you would consider it black. So I am trying to achieve maybe 2-3 shades lighter than my hair color and how i would do this (at least what i think you're supposed to do) is to use blonde hair dye. The problem is I don't know if that would act like a bleach to my hair or if the dye is just like any other weak, few weeks/washes hair dye. Sorry for sounding so stupid but this is the first time i ever wanted to change my hair and i don't know much, or anything about hair dying. I am obviously not going to the salon just to lighten my hair, because my mom already knows how to do it and it saves me a lot. Also my mom told me one day that a red-like tint to my hair would look 'good' on me which i wasn't so sure about but I think she just wants to experiment on my 20 inch hair ^^ And no i am not going to do those harsh chemical permanent dyes. I'm just going to try out one of those semi dyes just because i don't want to mess up anything and yes, i also know that any kind of dye already has chemicals but the semi dyes are not going to drive me away. Its like every time i watch a how to dye video i get more and more eager to dye my hair. So basically to summarize i just want to know if semi dyes (not the really harsh dyes) would ruin my hair and if blonde dye (to lighten) would affect the same as bleach, because i don't really know the difference between the two. So thank you guys for taking your time to read this and it would be really helpful if you can give advice too:)

I am planning to restore my iPod to go to tethered jailbreak to jailbreak for many purpose reasons. But when i was checking my apps/music etc so they wouldn't be lost, I only had about 30 apps when i checked itunes. I have over 40 apps and they don't show. Most of my apps are from installous (from tethered jailbreak or reg. jail break) My songs were all there, pictures, and all that basic stuff but my apps wern't there, and plus some of the apps that are shown in itunes are not even in my ipod. Can someone please explain why this is so? Thanks!

I had my eyes checked lately and I have now figured I am near-sighted and need glasses. I have already done everything and all I need to do is wait for my new pair of glasses to come. My eye doctor will call me and I have to go pick it up there once it delivers there. When I arrive at the building and pick up my glasses do I have to go for another exam/test? I mean to see if I am comfortable [etc.] in the new pair? Thanks for answering!

I have noticed my windows 7 laptop sound not coming out. When I turn it on, there's always this noise that 'welcomes' you. The noise works there, but it is terrifying loud (not crazy loud). After it has loaded everything like the wifi and skype etc. I went on youtube to watch a video, but no sound comes out. A week before this happened, I turned on my laptop and some sort of weird music was playing, like medieval music. It would not stop even though I tried every way to stop it. (on loop) And now this happens. I am really confused because the sound is working when i turn it on, but it stops working when i watch something with sound. I have a dell windows 7 laptop. Please help! greatly appreciate it. And yes, my speakers from the laptop is on full volume. I have followed the help of the tips for fixing from Microsoft.

Today my sister came up to my room to take the family kindle. I left my kindle on my desk for a couple of months because no one usually uses it. What was on the top was my pencil pouch which weighed less than at least 3 pounds, it was nothing. Since it was sitting there with that pouch on top it was also winter, and obviously its cold down here. This was our second kindle since I accidentally laid on the old kindle and it cracked the first time. This time, when my sister saw the kindle, it was cracked...Again! I'm really confused right now because that kindle was just sitting on my desk with a pouch on it. Why did it crack? Please answer because our 1 year guarantee has gone and my mom doesn't want to pay for another one. But really can anyone tell me why it has cracked? No one has dropped it, stepped or laid on it. It simply just cracked during the winter. Thanks for answering i greatly appreciate that.

They're married, why won't they sleep in the same bed? If the husband sleeps in the main bed, where would the wife sleep?
