Are enlistment rates going to skyrocket?
I was going to go talk to a recruiter tomorrow, but now that Osama's dead, I'm wondering if there's going to be a line out the door. Do you think what's happening right now is going to cause a surge in enlistment rates?
5 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoRock Island Tactical or Springfield GI?
So I'm in the market for a 1911 and have pretty much narrowed it down to these two. I like the look of the Rock Island but I think the Springfield is higher quality (not sure). Also, it looks as though the sights on the Springfield aren't replaceable. Is this true? I have a friend who is selling a Springfield so they will be about the same price, I just want to know which would be the better gun for the money. This will pretty much be for target shooting/truck gun, and no I don't need a fancy Kimber.
I know you all are going to tell me to try each one out and see which I like better, but finding a place around here with one or both of them is nearly impossible.
6 AnswersHunting1 decade agoTo you AR builders...?
I'm in the market for a good quad rail for my current build. I want something that will have a continuous top rail, free float, and is 13-15 inches long. So far, the best I've found is the Troy TRX http://troyind.com/%20/battlerails/troy-battlerail... but I was just wondering if there's something out there that meets this criteria that may be a little cheaper. I don't mind having to use an aftermarket barrel nut, so long as the top rail is continuous.
I know this may be difficult criteria to meet, but I was just seeing if some of you more experienced guys may know of something that I'm missing.
4 AnswersHunting1 decade ago45-70. Your opinions?
I've been seeing a few guns popping up around here for sale chambered in 45-70 Government, and I'm interested in this caliber. How is it as a hunting round? How about for target practice? Can anyone suggest a good lever-action in this caliber?
8 AnswersHunting1 decade agoFNH Build Your Own Pistol?
A gentleman I work with told me that he was watching some 3-gun on TV today and saw an ad from FNH that they are now selling build-your-own handgun kits. I went on their website and tried to find something on it, but there was nothing. Does anybody know about this, and know where I can get more information? Thanks much.
