I'm a 17 year old senior from Western New York. However, don't write me off because of my age, I'm not somebody who is engulfed in their cell phone and video games all day. I intend to major in Journalism and Political Science. I love to read, write, and am a bit of a politics nerd. I'm also a musician, All-State caliber clarinetist, and have toured Europe with a junior band. In addition, I love to sing and do it whenever I can. I'm a soprano and intend to study opera in college. I love French, but I intend to study German and Latin in college, though I have good instincts with German due to my roots. Besides all that, I'm very easy-going, a go-with-the-flow kind of person, and easy to get along with. I'm not a big fan of school, but I can get by.

  • I want to learn the trombone, would love some help?

Alright, I'm 16 years old, I can play every instrument except flute and trombone, and my mentor told me recently that I definitely must learn it. Unfortunately, he's not in the area anymore and I can't call him 20 times a day asking for help, plus I don't even know if he knows it (he's a vocalist, but was my first music instructor back in 4th grade..so long ago). And I'm saving my money to go on The Sound of America tour this summer for music, so I can't afford lessons. So I'm asking for some help from wonderful Yahoo!Answers :)

Just need some tips on how to learn quickly but proficiently. Slide positions, how to get a good round sound (I play euphonium obviously, but low mellow notes aren't my forte), etc. How difficult is it to learn? I've learned everything else relatively quick, besides my major instrument, but once you learn how to read music, everything else is so easy.

I would love any help you can give me, please and thanks!

  • What movie can you watch over and over again?

What is one (or no more than 10 lol) that you can watch over and over again and just never get tired of? Can be any rating, genre, language, etc.

For me, they have to be La Vie En Rose, Silence of the Lambs, and As Good As It Gets.
