I work at a country club in Wisconsin as a banquet server. We work weddings, golf outings, and assorted banquets. Some of our duties include arranging tables and chairs, vacuuming, setting up buffet tables, running buffet, carrying up heavy salads from the basement, putting dressing and croutons on salads, making bread baskets, serving and waiting on guests, taking down tables on the dance floor, sweeping and mopping dance floor, clearing plates and tables, taking everything down, and cleaning the entire banquet rooms plus banquet kitchens. We unload dirty dishes for the kitchen staff to clean. We clear bar glasses and bring them to the bar for the bartenders to clean. We often have to lift heavy stacks of chairs and tables and carry them across the restaurant to other banquet rooms. We also do any odd jobs/random requests that are needed to be done throughout the night.

I make $7.50 an hour. We do not get official breaks, but we do get about 15-20 minutes a night to eat the leftover banquet food (Often the food has been sitting out for an hour or two and is picked over). We also get unlimited water or soda from the bar throughout the night.

There is obviously a gratuity added for banquets, but us banquet staff see NONE of it. I know that the guests assume that the tips go to us, and often tip based on OUR service. We get complimented often on our excellent service, but still do not receive any tips. I was wondering if this is legal?

I do not know who is getting the tips if it isn't us. I am assuming our managers are keeping them. We do a lot of the bartenders work for them, yet they walk out each night with $100's in tips while we walk out with nothing. I want to say something to my manager but I am unsure how it will go! On top of everything else, we do not get treated very well by our boss.

I recently switched birth control pills (the place I get it from discontinued my usual brand). On my old pill, if I missed a day or two I would always get some spotting. However, on this new pill, one day into the first week of taking them (aka, just a day after my last period ended), I forgot to take them for 3 days. Surprisingly, I didn't get any spotting or any bleeding at all!

Could this be because I switched pill brands? Or maybe because my missed pills were so soon after my last period? Or could I possibly be pregnant... :0

Lately, I have been blacking out half-way through a night of drinking (aka, I am still able to function but I completely forget everything that happened the night before).

I drink the same that I always have. I'll admit it's probably a bit excessive...I drink about 5-10 shots on an average night (I am 5'7 and weight about 123 pounds, and I'm 19 by the way). On more than one occasion, I've drank as few as 3 shots and am already blacked out. I drink on average one night a week.

The first few times I blacked out, it was after drinking a few shots and then smoking weed...so I thought that it was the combination of the two that was causing it. However, lately I have been blacking out JUST from drinking, even if it not a large amount.

I've never puked from drinking. I sometimes get hungover the next morning, but it just consists of feeling dizzy or shaky, a headache, and sometimes a stomachache. Other times, I'm not hungover at all.

I don't understand why this is happening! Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

We have been hanging out and basically been together for about 2 and a half months but have only been officially dating for 2 weeks...

I have no idea what to get him for Christmas! I don't want anything super mushy or romantic, one because most guys dont like that and two becuase we havent been dating for that long.

i am just asking for basic ideas...it can be funny or ironic or thoughtful...i just dont know!

i read a childrens book when i was younger about a girl (or a few kids, i dont remember) who was stuck in an abandoned amusement park or circus type thing. i remember there was one part about her seeing the headless horseman in a tunnel or something.

there was another part about this boy she met who was able to 'throw his voice'. he could make it sound like his voice was coming from the other side of the room. i dont remember if the books were supposed to be scary neccessarily, but they had kind of a creepy feel to them, and i think they might have been mysteries?

im pretty sure these books were a series, and in another book (it might have been the same one though) the same girl (or group of people) were in an old mansion during a thunderstorm. they were looking around i think i remember something about them finding old paintings? i vagly remember an old women living in the mansion and i think she let them stay the night? there was something about the girl sneaking in the basement, too, and finding more treasures...

i probably read these in the early 2000's, but they were already a little old so they were probably written anywhere between the late 70's to sometime in the 90's.

I attended a Barbizon audition yesterday, and I am accepted into the 'school'.

I am not expecting to get modeling/acting work out of this, and I am not expecting to get famous. I have heard that Barbizon teaches you HOW to model and to gain more confidence and self esteem, and to create a few contacts in the industry.

My question is...has anyone GONE THROUGH Barbizon modeling school, and if so, what are your thoughts on it? Was it worth it to you? Did anything worthwhile come out of it? What did you learn?

So there are three version of this song...

the first is called Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap (it is originally her song and the others sampled the 'whatcha say' part in their songs)

the next is Whatchu Say by Jason Derulo. This is the one they play on the radio, and they are actually using imogen heaps voice in it.

the last is What You Say by Loon Feat. Christopher. This one I am so confused on! WHO is singing the girl part? I've heard that that is Loon, but I'm pretty sure Loon is a guy...so WHO SINGS THE GIRL PART? ahhh ive looked everywhere and I can't figure it out.

okay, so miley cyrus is supposed to be so 'clean' and such a good little girl, yet i just don't get how she can be dating a TWENTY TWO year old MODEL...and still be 'clean' and a 'good girl'

if Justin is 22, im pretty sure he drinks...and im pretty sure he doesnt want to just hold hands with his girfriend; he expects a lot more.

so how can him and miley be dating without her drinking with him or doing whatever the hell else 22 year old models do.

it just doesnt make sense to me. all of mileys friends are older and they obviously party and stuff, especially since they are all above 21. and miley is not.....how does that work?
