What was the total energy dissipated by the resistor during this time?

    a) The graph in the figure shows the current through a 3.5Ω resistor as a function of time

I got 14 C as the charge flowing through 10 s. But I am unsure on how to get the total energy.

I know we have to use the equation E = Iqt but my answer was wrong

    b) It's possible to estimate the percentage of fat in the body by measuring the resistance of the upper leg rather than the upper arm; the calculation is similar. A person's leg meas-ures 40cm between the knee and the hip, with an average leg diameter (ignoring bone and other poorly conducting tissue) of 12cm . A potential difference of 0.77V causes a current of 1.6mA .

What are the fractions of muscle and fat in the leg?

    c) What is the equivalent resistance of group (b) of resistors shown in the figure? http://session.masteringphysics.com/problemAsset/1...

    I used (1/3+ 1/3)^(-1) + 3 = 4.5 ohms but it says I am wrong

Could some one please help me understand these problems? I am trying to prepare for my exam and these problems are essential thank you!

  • Engine noise from Pontiac Gran Am GT 1998?

I was on my way home and my car started making this weird noise. I researched a little bit on it and I think its piston slapping, but I am not sure. I made a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VHjx4ZWGBg&feature...

If you could please let me know what is wrong and what I could do to fix it I would be forever grateful. I've had this car since I was 13 years old and I really want to save it if it can be saved.Thank you

  • 3 point mapping question?!?

I am trying to do an assignment on three point mapping. I know how to do the math to calculate the numbers, however, I am having a hard time determining the phenotypes for the worksheet. Could someone please look at the two worksheets and help me figure out how to determine the phenotypes?

https://learn.usf.edu/@@/A81DC388E26294730EDD3B870... ("You will see 8 different phenotypes observed for the test cross. These are F1 offspring!")

https://learn.usf.edu/@@/A81DC388E26294730EDD3B870... (This is where I have to write my answers, I just need to know how to determine which 8 go under what phenotypes.)

Please help, thank you!!! Let me know if there is problems opening up the links.

  • If AaBb is mated to AaBb, what is the probability that the offspring will be:?

    a) Either AABb OR AaBB?

    b) Either AaBb OR aaBb?

    c) Either Aabb OR aaBB?

    d) Either the phenotype A_B_ or the phenotype aaB_?

So far I have foiled and got AB, Ab, aB, ab x AB, Ab, aB, ab and put it in a Punnet square. However, I am puzzled on what to do next. Do I add or multiply? Is there an easier way instead of making a Punnet square and just counting the different combinations? Please help!

  • How do I do these conditional probability problems?

It says: In an experiment, a single card is drawn from a standard deck of 52-cards. Calculate the probability of the following events

    a) The selected card is an ace of diamonds, given that this card is a diamond

    b) The drawn card is a heart when we have been told that this card is a picture card

    c) The drawn card is not a heart given it was not a spade

    d) The drawn card is an ace given the ace of spades is not in the deck (it has been lost)

    e) The drawn card is a 5 or a 2 given it is not a face card

    f) The drawn card is a diamond given it is red

I am not freeloading! I need someone to show me the steps on how to solve these problems. I have a test coming up and the teacher said these problems are going to be on there! Thank you

  • I need help on these Pre- Calculus questions?

So I did my pre cal work but these last 3 really stumped me and I was wondering if anybody knew how to do it?

    1. Find the x- and y- intercepts of the graph of the equation .

    y = -4x + x^2 (I already figured out the y- intercept is (0,0))

    2. Solve the inequality

x^3 - 14x is greater than or equal to 0

    3. The height of a diver jumping from a diving platform is about

    h = -16.1t^2 + 9t + 33.7

where h is the height of the diver in feet above the water and t is the time measured in seconds,

when diving from a platform about 33.7 feet above the water with an initial upward velocity of

    9ft/sec.

    (a) Sketch a graph the equation fro t = 0.0 to t = 2.0 (I ALREADY DID THIS!)

    (b) After how many seconds is the diver's height above the water 27 ft?

    (c) After how many seconds is the diver's height above the water 40 ft?

Don't think I am being lazy, I asked all my family but they have not been to school for 30+ years now. I am really trying to figure this out for I have a test on this when I come back to school in late august.

  • How do you use this formula, q=m*C* delta T?

I have a question on my Chemistry paper and i says, "Find the thermal energy given to the water to change it to steam during the experiment. Solve and show your work. (Hint: Use q=m*C* delta T: where C is the specific heat of water which is 1 calorie/gram Celsius= 4.186 joule/gram Celsius. It would help if anyone can provide me an example using this formula or help me solve this question because I have to put the calculations into a line graph.
