I'm into basically anything with an engine. Cars, trucks, trains, and planes. Import, or domestic it doesn't matter to me! I am a graduate of Chemekita Community College automotive program. And have many years experience in the automotive repair, parts, and other auto related retail fields.

  • How do i look past the fact that i now own a minivan?

Was recently (near as makes no difference) given a 2000 Toyota sienna. I only took it because it was a charitable "donation" from my parents to their son (me) who has fallen on hard times, and otherwise drives a less than perfect, but not bad, 1986 blazer. I'm not the type of asshole who will turn down a freakin CAR, weather i want it or not.

Now my problem is, as a single car guy, i don't care how many cup holders it's got. I don't care how many it seats, or any other of that technical BS. Don't care about MPG that much, even the fact that it's got decent acceleration is all overshadowed by the fact that it's a minivan.

So now, i'm forced to get rid of a blazer that has some problems, but most importantly of all I LIKE. So that i can afford a minivan, that is perfect in almost every sense of the word, but is still a minivan.

How do i over come this?? I don't want to sell the van, and look like a total douche in the eyes of my family, who were just trying to do the right thing (the same reason why i took it in the first place). I already feel as though i don't deserve such an amazing family for the simple fact that i don't like the van in the first place.

  • should i be taking penicillin?

My Dad was diagnosed with pneumonia last night. He's been feeling sick for a while, including the week i there visiting. I got sick too while i was there, i still am sick with a productive cough, runny nose, etc. Though i don't feel all that bad. My question is, you see, i have a bottle of un-used penicillin from a while ago (previous illness). Should i be taking this? Keep in mind it is NOT expired (still good), and i can not afford to go to the doctor (my co-pay is 40, i only have 35 until next month, and doctor will not bill me for co-pay).

I would appreciate medical professional advice, though am willing to listen to anyone, thank you.

  • android app question?

I have a pantech burst android smartphone. I recently started getting spam when I surf the web on it. A window pops up from myrewards (I think) dot com. I can't back away from it as its not actually a browser window (its an android system window) , and it only has the "OK" button which takes you to their site. The home button doesn't work either when this happens. Your only two options are to power the phone off, or go to their scam website where apparently I've won some huge amount and all they need is my personal info to send it to me.

I know its a scam, and I know its one of my apps. But how can I tell which one as the spam is recent, and I haven't downloads anything new in quite a while.

  • Looking for specifications ?

  • 1987 Blazer leaf spring?

I have a 1987 s10 blazer that is sagging quite bad in the rear. I want to replace the leaf springs, But am unsure of what brand of spring to go with. I'm mechanically inclined, i've been working on cars my whole life, but don't know much about leaf spring brands, and their quality etc. I've only ever really worked on coil type suspension (mostly lowering them). I know they make "add a leaf" kits, but isn't that just sticking a band-aid on it to cover up the problem? It's also sagging more on one side than the other, which is why i want to just replace the springs if i can afford it.

  • Oregon DMV question.?

Recently i was given a 1971 cb500 motorcycle as a gift from a family fried. The title however is where it gets interesting. The bike was given to the family friend from his Dad, who is now deceased. However sometime in the 80's (title says 81 on it) the Dad had the bike transferred into someone else's name in order to keep his ex-wife from taking it in a divorce. Apparently it never got changed back, and now since his Dad is gone, we have no way of tracking down who ever this guy is, who's name is on the title (if he's even still alive). Now i have the bike, AND the title, with all matching VIN numbers, plate numbers, etc. Is there any way in the state of Oregon to have the title transferred to my name?? Would like answers from Oregon residents, but any help is appreciated.

  • accidentally put diesel in my gasoline engine?

Accidentally put a small amount of bad gasoline (a mix of diesel, and gasoline) in my gasoline engine. It was almost completely out of gas, and put maybe one gallon in the tank. Ran fine for a little. Turned the engine off, now it barely starts, and runs rough. My question is will i be able to get by with just filling the tank up with regular gasoline, and running the bad stuff out? Or will i have to flush the fuel system? The car is a 1990 Acura Legend, with a 16 gallon tank.

  • 1990 Acura legend hard start?

2.7 Liter, 230k miles. No check engine light, no codes in the computer. No power loss when running. No smoke. Been doing this for a while. It cranks fine, just wont start. When it does start, it just barely sputters to life. Once running, it runs perfect. I just recently changed the plugs, cap and rotor, fuel filter, and O2 sensor. No change. I'm no moron when it comes to most cars, but this has got me stumped, any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

  • 502 bad gateway problem?

is a 502 error a problem with my computer or server, or something wrong with the site? Been getting this code when i try to reply to a web site i frequently go to. The site is up and running, i can go to all the threads, just can't reply. It appears that there have been no new replies in a couple of days (not normal for this site). I've tried clearing my cache/cookies with no results.

  • will any usb car charger work?

I have a Motorola backflip, was looking for a car charger for it. This phone has a USB charger. One of the ones that just has and adapter for the wall socket. Was wondering if just any ol' USB cigarette lighter car charger will work for it. The phone has a 3.7 volt battery, but i'm unable to find any voltage output ratings for any of the USB chargers i'm looking at (why i'm asking this here).

  • why do people expect different....?

Why do people treat other's belongings like garbage, yet expect others to treat their belongins with respect? For instance, my stuff get kicked around, broken, even thrown away for being "in the wrong spot". And when I bring up this misstreatment, I get the "oh well/it was only a.../my bad/shut up" treatment. And yet when I treat one of their belongings with less than half the misstreatment they treat my stuff, you should see them fly off the handle. Please excuse any spelling errors (no spell check on my phone)

  • What would be a good way to learn to draw?

What would be a good way to learn to draw. I have next to no artistic talent, Yet can see these amazing images in my head. But the best i can manage to get on paper is stick figures (that's not a joke lol). I can draw technical drawings good, I have a "minor" degree in architecture. But i just can't seem to get perspective down. I would consider myself reasonably artistic, i play the guitar, write songs, but i'm still VERY technically minded (left, or right brained, i forget). Are there classes out there that are tuned to people like me with 0 artistic talent?

  • new motherboard problems?

I just installed a new biostar n68s motherboard. The capacitors on the factory motherboard were blown. I didn't do anything except swap hardware (no software), and added a new LAN card. I needed to install a 20 to 24 pin adaptor for the motherboard power supply. Now my problem is that it will power on (fan, keyboard, and cd drive all power up), but nothing boots. Not even a BIOS screen. Just a blank screen with a "no signal" message on my monitor. Is this because I didn't install any drivers? If so how would I do so when it won't go even go into a bios screen? Or is there possibly something else wrong here? I've already gone through all the connections, and made sure they were tight. My hard drive has xp

  • Honda (acura) people, i have a question?

can any one tell me what is under the cover on the left (front) valve cover 1990 3.2 v6. It has a rubber hose leading to the intake manifold. I was thinking it was part of the PCV system, but then i noticed that was on the other side. Is it EGR? Or maybe IAC? I found a picture of it online (the cover any way). It's making weird noises, and i don't want to tear into it without first knowing. Pic> http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/1/1339/...

  • do computer repair techs go through?

Do computer repair techs go through your files during a hardware only test? A Friend recently took a laptop to an computer repair tech for what might be a hardware problem. The computer has some torrent files on it that might not be legal (a few really old games, and music). Could he get in trouble for this? What's the likely hood that they'll be found?

  • file backup question?

Hello. I'm trying to back up several video files from a failed hard drive. I can get to the files no problem using another computer. But my problem is my external hard drive that I'm using has a 3.9 gig file size limit (fat32 system). And each of the videos is 7+ gigs in size. The computer that I'm using doesn't have any video editing software (its not mine), and I can't format the external because i'd loose everything on it. My question is. Can I compress the video files using winrar? If I can, will they be below the 3.9 limit? And how will this affect quality? Thank you in advance.

  • unmountable boot volume toshiba?

This is a problem I've asked questions about before. I have an older toshiba satellite A205 that will not boot in any mode. Found out how to freeze the blue screen (by disabling auto reboot on system failure). And it says unmountable boot volume. I looked up online to find out how to fix this. The problem is I do not have an xp disk, or recovery disk. Is there any way I can get around this to back up an irreplaceable video before reformatting my hard drive? Does it even need to be reformated?
