  • What apps can I use for nook hd?

I got a Nook HD a few days ago and want to know what Apps I can use on it.

I know I can use anything in the Barnes and Noble App store, but what about other apps?

Am I limited to only what Barnes and Noble offers?

In particular I'm interested in cheap or free games to play while traveling.

  • Is there a way to remove Pod Podge?

I just spent 3 days working on a 2ftX4ft art project using paint chips you get at the hardware store. I coated them in 3 layers of plain Matte Mod Podge. I then coated them with a wood stain, wiped it off and then did one final coat of mod podge. To this final coat I added some gold shimmer acrylic craft paint and 2 drops of aqua craft paint. Those 2 drops of aqua ruined the piece. Basically it now looks as if my Mod Podge never dried even though it is completely dry.

So is there a way to take of the mod podge?

Sanding? Wet sanding? What is wet sanding anyway? Spray bottle of water? Anything?

I wish I could just go back in time and take the last layer off but I'm okay if it takes more than one layer off as long as I could salvage the base of my project.

  • How do I find my password on my D link router?

I have a D link router that's about 2 years old. My desktop is hardwired to it and my laptop has wireless internet through it.

Now my husband is adding his brand new laptop but he can't log on because we have it encrypted and we don't remember the password. I seem to remember being able to type in some number thing off of the router itself and then getting to some access page that once you answer all the questions correctly you can edit the settings ect.

So anyone have any help on how i can retrieve my password and get the new laptop some internet?

  • Ebay additional shipping requested?

I won an auction and the seller listed the shipping as $6.95

i payed through paypal a few minutes after winning.

Now several hours later i get an email from the seller saying the actual shipping is $10.05 and if I still want the item i need to pay her the additional shipping.

Do I have to? I thought we were both bound by the terms of the auction. As a seller myself I have under estimated shipping before and had to take it out of my profit.

  • My dog has tiny black spots on her nipples?

I have a 4 year old Havanese female who's nipples are covered in little black dots.

They are not fleas and are not flea dirt. She is completely flea free, spayed, in otherwise god health. I was simply rubbing her tummy today and happened to notice that her regularly pink skin and nipples had changed to black spots. Actually the skin on her tummy is still healthy pink, only the nipples have spots. The black dots are the size of flea dirt, they can be rubbed off.

what is this? is this a yeast infection? Mites? I dont have a microscope or even a magnifying glass but they don't appear to be alive like mites.

    Anyone know what this is?

  • 2002 Volvo XC AWD Automatic Suddenly losing power?

I went and had a full service oil change. About 3 blocks away from the oil change (afterwards) I started getting a rather rough idle while waiting at traffic lights. When starting from a stop, it feels like its struggling for power/gas. By block 15 it had stopped. I had reached my next destination and my boyfriend told me via phone I should go back to the oil change place. When I started my car again though it had stopped. I made the silly decision not to go back to the oil change place and instead went for a nice long drive downtown and then back home where it didn't mess up once.(about a 25 mile trip) It was back to its old self until I hit the bump of my driveway and the rough, now hard idle is back with certainty. That was yesterday. I didn't drive it until 6pm tonight and I just took it a couple miles to the supermarket. The idle is hard, rocking and sputtering. When I put it in neutral most of the rocking goes away but not all. The car is only making a little bit of noise. No pinging or knocking but now the Check engine light is on and it alternates between flashing and holding steady. The last bit of the way home is a large hill and my car was barely making it up like it just couldn't get the power to go faster. We were going about 25mph uphill instead of the normal 35 and I was pretty much flooring it.

One other important piece of info is that when at the oil change place I was down to 2 gallons of gas in the tank but the car had no symptoms until right after the oil change. Later that night after cruising around town i filled the tank. Still no symptoms until 10 minutes later when i hit the driveway curb.

That's all I know, can anyone help figure out whats wrong? Fuel line clogged?... Air filter got some debris in the engine when the oil man took it out and put it back in?

Please help. I'm sure I will be finding a volvo mechanic to fix this but I would really like to know what I am in for so I dont get horribly cheated.

    thanks so much!

  • Any Great Gynecologists in PORTLAND OREGON?

I need to have a hysterectomy and am looking for a better GYN doctor in the big city instead of the rural area I live in. I'd like to have the surgery done at OHSU or St Vincents as they are both great hospitals and they take my insurance.

If you have a recommendation, please let me know who they are and any good points about your experience.

    Thanks a lot!

  • Marriage and a restraining order?

My little brother says he's going to get married this week and has already got the license BUT his girlfriend now fiancee had a restraining order out against him only about 5 months ago. Obviously they have patched things up.

Can they get married if legally he's not supposed to be near her? Will the marriage be legal? I was under the impression that a marriage that broke laws to take place is not legal.

  • How do I clean my film negatives from the 1980s and later?

I have well over 100 negative strips of awesome family photos but they are filthy. Dust, fingerprints, boot marks, water damage, rust, sticky gooey stuff and you name it. Many I'm sure cant be saved but for the others I would like to try.

All of these are of course going to need major photoshop work once they are developed but at this point, I cant even send them to the developer because they are too grungy.

They are all colour photos with nothing older than 1979 if that makes a difference.

Any Ideas on how to SAFELY clean them?

    Thanks

  • Is there an easy way to match CPU and Motherboard and Graphics card?

I need to assemble a new computer using most of what I already have.

I need a new CPU, Motherboard, graphics card, and PSU but I am soo unbelievably confused about which to purchase.

Is there an easy way to know if your CPU and Motherboard will work well together?

I've been looking at Tiger Direct's MB and CPU bundles but I really cant tell what is best and then once I choose how will I select and appropriate graphics card? I need one that can handle playing the Sims3 and working in Photoshop.

I swear it's like trying to understand string theory when the professor is teaching in Klingon.

  • where can I get GOOD dog shoes for snow?

I have a 45lb cattle dog who we have to take with us on a 6 mile hike in the snow. (we'll spend a couple nights at a look out tower then hike 6 miles out again) He likes snow but he doesn't get to see it much and so his feet are certainly not tough enough to go that far without freezing.

Does anyone have a favourite set of dog shoes that doesn't come off in the snow?

Links to web pages would be great! Thanks!

  • Water based lubes not so slippery?

I have a bottle of Sliquid lube which is water based. It seems to have become much less slippery this last month to the point where it is a hindrance rather than a help. Because I live in the middle of nowhere I cant run out and buy something else. Do you think adding water to the bottle and then shaking it up real well would make it slippery again?

  • Switching from electric to gas stove, what do I need to know?

We had gas as a child but for my entire adult life I've been cooking on electric ranges.

Now my new place has a gas stove and I'd like to know what to do differently. I have a lot of vintage copper clad Revere ware that I cook with, will it work on a gas stove as well? Or will it get ruined? What about my everyday pots and pans with the Teflon coating? Can they be used safely on gas burners?

    Thanks for your help
