  • Where do I report a california deadbolt law violation?

I asked my landlord about a key to the deadbolt as we have not had one since moving in. He said there wasn't one. I asked about a new deadbolt and was told I am responsible for supplying the deadbolt. I purchased a deadbolt, but it does not fit the door. The new deadbolt is the right size and almost lines up, but the door jam is warped wood. Now I am being told it is not his problem. I read the California state law saying it is the responsibility of a landlord to provide a deadbolt and must replace or install a deadbolt within a reasonable time limit. It has been 3 months. Where do I report the landlord? I do not want to report him here. I live in a small town and they bend the rules to suit land owners. I'm afraid to leave my apartment as I have expensive electronics and no one to watch them.

  • California felon able to restore civil rights?

My brother has a felony burglary on his record from 11 years ago after the police caught him and some friends in our neighbor's empty house. He served 2 years for it, no thanks to the public defender.

Recently he tried moving into an apartment complex, but they denied him after discovering he had a felony. This started an argument over restoring civil rights. I looked and asked around, but can not get a definitive answer. Some websites say yes, others no. People I have asked give me mixed answers. Does anyone know if a felon can have their civil rights restored? If yes, how?

  • What is the difference between Blue Ray and High Definition?

The visual quality, to be more specific. I always considered HD unimpressive. Is High Definition still "good" or has Blue Ray taken away the crown, i.e. did Blue Ray deliver where HD failed?
