  • Recommend city in North Carolina Smoky Mountains?

    Hello!

I am planning a summer vacation for my family (two adults, two boys ages 6 and 8). We would like to stay in a cabin in the Smoky Mountains -- North Carolina side. We stayed in Tennessee last year so we want to visit North Carolina this year.

Can anyone recommend a certain city? I see there is Bryson City, Franklin, Cherokee, and many more. Are they all very similar or do you recommend one over the other? My only preference is a heavily wooded area (if that exists in the cities).

    Thanks for any help!!!

  • Do you leave a tip when hair stylist is the owner?

    Hello!

I am getting my hair cut this week by a woman who owns the salon. She is actually the only stylist in the salon and does her own shampooing, cleaning, etc. So the $80 she charges for a cut all goes to her. Do I leave her a tip too? I know normally you leave tips because the stylists do not keep the entire amount charged -- but I wasn't sure if the same rule applied when the stylist is the owner?

    Thanks!

  • Advice from business owners regarding rude customers?

Hello! I own my own graphic design small business. I mostly deal with customers online and I'd say 95% of the customers I deal with are nice and pleasant. But it's that 5% of customers that I have a hard time dealing with and sometimes make me rethink running my business. I have a hard time dealing with customers who are mean, rude, get angry, talk down to me, etc. It can sometimes eat at me for days - I get so angry. So far I have NEVER gotten mean back to a customer though I want to SO VERY BADLY. I remain neutral and try my best to make them happy. But how much do you take from your customers as a business owner? How do you deal with rude customers? Do you put on a "happy face" no matter what and bend over backwards to please them? Or do you sometimes give them a "piece of your mind" and/or back out on their business if possible? Any advice from a business owner on dealing with rude/mean customers is greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time!
