Say you were stealing something from someone and while doing so you get stolen from... Are you still legally protected even though you are committing illegal acts yourself?

I just got what I assume to be a road or commuter bike, and I was wondering if its possible to replace the gears. I want to add more gears if thats possible as well update the hardware in general. As the bike is right now I think it's a 10 speed (it has 2 chain rings on the pedals and 5 on the back wheel). Is there a kit I can buy? How do I go about doing this?

I just opened an account on sharebuilder.com, and I have setup and automatic investment plan. I am a little confused. Do I need to say that I want to invest enough money to buy at least one stock in a company, or can I set it to invest money to a value lower than 1 stock and it sets it aside till I have enough money to buy that stock?

I am very curious about creating a portfolio and I was wondering if there is a way or place I can get started with a few hundred dollars. Would a website like e*trade be a good idea? I don't plan on being very active at first, I would really just sort of sit and watch and take things pretty slow at first.

I am watching the gold medal hockey game on TV right now and I noticed that with a little than a minute left of regulation Team USA had an empty goal. Did they do that on purpose? Did they take out their goalie so they could put in another player who could score a goal?

I want to use WebKit ( http://webkit.org/ ) as the layout engine, and I want to code it in Java. I am having troubles finding any useful info.

I would like to know:

1. If I can use Java?

2. Where can I find documentation on how to work with and use WebKit? ( I am looking for something like the Java API http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/ )

3. Is there a WebKit build compiled for Linux? ( Specifically Ubuntu/Debian )

Sorry if this isn't very clear. I am still hatching ideas, and I am not really sure what I want to find or need in order to move forward.

I recently began to watch the original star trek series, and I am HOOKED. I wanted to buy some star trek stuff and possibly turn it into a collection. I realize I could just go out and buy stuff and call it a collection but I would much rather buy stuff the could easily still be worth money later. So I was wondering if anyone knew where I could go to (preferably on the net) to find free information (there are one two books on this from what I have found) about Star Trek memorabilia, etc.?

If you don't know what I mean I'm looking for something similar to XNA for windows and the xbox 360.
