I am 21 years old, I currently go to Penn State as a student of law, I am married and have a step-son and a dog. I aspire to practice family law in the future, and do my part to set people's misconceptions straight. In my spare time, I like to read, play with my dog, and work out. My favorite color is black and my favorite place is Barnes and Noble Bookstore.

  • what happens if someone is trying to claim another person's child on their taxes? What are the penalties?

My husband has a seven year old son who lives part of the time with his mother and her live-in boyfriend. Her boyfriend is insisting on covering the minor on his group health insurance and he is also claiming the child on his taxes as a dependent and getting the child tax credit every year. My understanding is that a child can only be claimed as a dependent if it is a biological, adopted, step or foster child. What would this be classified as? Fraud? And how would my husband go about proving this to the IRS?

  • What do people see as the major differences between McCain and Bush? ?

Or are all the people who are voting for McCain also Bush supporters? Because everything they say sounds exactly alike. I didn't know that there was anything good about what the republican party is doing, but maybe I've overlooked something. Enlighten me ,please.

  • I don't understand why other females think that it is appropriate to not allow the father to see their child

I am a female, and I have seen or heard any evidence that mothers "naturally" make better parents than males, just because the child came out of the mother. For those of you out there who think this, I have to tell you, this is a very outdated thought process, that was popular in the 1700's, but there are now laws in place to protect against maternal bias by the courts, for the simple reason that this theory of mothers being the "better parent" has been proven to be complete hogwash. This being said, I am still curious enough to ask the proponents of this viewpoint to justify what factors, biologically and socially, make mothers better parents?
