  • Engine oil showed low on dipstick, added a quart, still low, started car rechecked and its over max. shut car off, checked, back at minimum?

Ok 2000 mustang gt. i checked the engine oil this morning and it was right at the minimum mark on the dipstick so i added a quart of oil, waited a couple hours and checked it again, still at minimum. So i started the car and let it run for a few minutes and checked it while running and its showing slightly over MAX on the dipstick so i shut ot off again let it sit a few minutes and rechecked..back to minimum. Any ideas why this is happening? It would seem to me that the opposite would be true: higher level when car is sitting, lower when car is running.

    Thanks

  • 95 camaro z28 rod knock help?

i have a 95 z28 that has what i am pretty sure is rod knock. i want to repair it the RIGHT way. Should i replace all oil related parts with new ones? i.e oil pan and gasket, oil pump, oil cooler, oil filter....and what else should be replaced or done to it. The heads on it are almost new will they still need to be honed/bored? Best way to clean all the oil passages? Chances of this happening again after fix?

    Thanks
